Hi there,
Since the some of the file sharing sites are blocked by the Indian
government, you can download the files from senspace by connecting your
device in vpn mode.
When your device connected with virtual private network, your location will
be hidden, and, you can access en number of sites which are blocked with
your location.

Re: [AI] SBI clerical: blind stuck between general and VI cut off

2018-10-11 Thread BHAGYASHREE GANDHI
Dear Sir,

Sir every year thousands of visually challenged students appear for
various competitive and Banking exams for career opportunities. It’s
very good and
we have to feel proud for them.
But in recent years, a lot of wrong doings or injustice is happening
with them which I would like to share one by one.
Following are the points which i would like to share with you
list of 1 items
1) Paid Scribe
list end
Due to a lot of competition for jobs and limited number of vacancies
for visually challenged students, they are misguided and they appear
for those exams
in a wrong manner. This amount can go upto 1 lacs rupee per scribe for
1 written exam.
ist end
list of 1 items
2) Written exams Marks Weightage
list end
Written exams has weightage of 80% while Personal interviews account
for only 20%.
A student’s true calibre or potential can be known through his
knowledge, attitude and behaviour. The best platform to get to know
about the students is
Personal interview. Written tests can be cleared by many wrong means
but personal interview is the true test to judge a students knowledge
Solution : Weightage to Personal interviews should be increased so
that visually challenged students prepare themselves for personal
interviews and they
will be in a better position to work when they will be placed in their
respective organizations. They will be able to communicate properly,
handle day
to day official problems and would perform well in the Organization.
list of 1 items
3) Rising Cut off Marks
list end
We all know that students with other physically disabilities are in a
better position to appear for exams as they can see the questions,
solve the questions
on paper and answer the questions easily as compared to visually
challenged students.
Visually challenged students have to rely on scribe to read the
questions which they have to visualize and then find the answer
through visualizations
only.
So it is most difficult for visually challenged students to appear for
written exams.
But if you see the recent cut off marks for competitive exams and
banking exams, the cut offs has increased drastically as compared to
last 2-3 years.
Also the cut off’s for visually challenged students is more than other
physical disability students making them difficult to clear the exams.
Recent cutoffs are mentioned below
SBI prelim cut off [Maharashtra]
2018 for VI: 49
2017: 42.50
2016: 37
SBI PO mains cut of for vi who has selected for GDPI 2017: 88.9
SBI po cut of for 2016: 79.50
SBI PO cut of after normalisation for those who got recruited 2017: 46.11
2016: 43.08
SBI Clerk prelims [Maharashtra]
2018: 61.75
2016: 55.75
.

Re: [AI] SBI clerical: blind stuck between general and VI cut off

2018-10-11 Thread Vamshi. G
Here, SBI clerical recruitment doesn't have any interview, typing
test or any other test of such nature. Therefore, any candidate
scoring more than the general cut off should be given appointment.
The only test that remains is the medical test, and if a blind person
is disqualified there, it becomes easy to prove its illegality and
fight it in the court.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for replying. But at my end, it says that the site is

I get so many sendspace links to download books and stuff. Now, I do

Hie, as far as all the considerations by most popular reviewers on
youtube and as far as I've heard from people, google home speaker
handles the job well, being a smart speaker.
Although alexa is also catching up with google assistant, but, still,
still, people a bit prefer google home speaker.
As I'm also in the same search for purchasing one of the smart
speakers, between the google home and alexa, my final decision is
nearing google home, so thought to share my ideas with you, rest is

2018-10-11 Thread shankar.c
Hi there,

I just want to recommend the same.

There are couple of advantages of this devices are as follows.

1. you can easily findout weather the device is booting up are not. When you
turn on the device, you no need of waiting for the speech. When you press
and hold the power button for 3 seconds, you will be alerted with the sound
as wel as with vibrate.
2. After unboxing the device, you can easily enable the accessibility
services without any sighted assistance. Just press hold the volume up/down
keys simultaneously for 3 to 4 seconds, you will be alerted with
sound/speech.
3. you will get consecutive updates for 3 years.

Hope this helps.

Currently, the wi fy router is fixed on the ground floor and, most of the

its accessibility after connecting it. however samsung have launched k
series models now and they are more expensive. only picture quality is
improved in K series. rest voice guidance feature in accessibility is the
same. better is to buy m5570 series TV if anybody want samsung tv before
samsung withdraw it from the market.

If you purchase android Televisions from MI, you might make them
accessible by installing Talkback or making use of talkback.
Before this samsung consideration, I once contacted the customer
support of this MI Television, and enquired about this accessibility,
the representative there, just answered, "Sorry sir, we don't know
anything about accessibility in our televisions or we are not aware of
it"
So the possibility of those televisions being accessible is less, but
I may not be knowing all, they might be having also.
Hope others will clarify yours and my doubts also I think.
Thank you.

Re: [AI] ssendspace not working

2018-10-11 Thread Ravi N. Hiremath
Hie, I had faced this problem a lot of times, so here's a technique
which I usually try and which most of the times works for me, so try
and see if this works for you or not.
Coppy the URL or the link, which you want to download, then, go to
www.proxysite.com
There, paste the URL into the search box, then hit enter, it will take
you there, it may solve your problem by downloading from another
location.
But, here's a problem.
If you download through this technique, the file that will download
will be in a different extension called, .PHP.
So, after you download, you have to rename the file then change it's
extension also, as, .rar or .doc, or .dox like that. Whatever, the
contents of the download or the file will be never harmed or changed,
only change the extension that's all, then you can work with the files
as you usually do.
Hope this helps.
Please reply if you have any doubts or this technique doesn't work.
Hope this helps.

Re: [AI] Several doubts regarding Samsung smart television M5570

2018-10-11 Thread Ravi N. Hiremath
Hie, as far as I've heard from other people, and as much as I know, MI
televisions doesn't come with any kind of accessibility features like
Text to speech guides and all, from the company, or which televisions
run their operating system, however on the other hand,
If you purchase android Televisions from MI, you might make them
accessible by installing Talkback or making use of talkback.
Thank you.

Re: [AI] SBI clerical: blind stuck between general and VI cut off

2018-10-11 Thread Asudani, Rajesh
Even if hypothetically, I agree with exam bodies point that all these
constitute relaxed standards, still not recruiting people in excess of 3% or 1%
for blind who have qualified in general list if the post is duly identified,
falls foul of existing law and even Rajesh Dariya judgment.

So, those so stuck, please come forward.

Dear Rajeshji,

Although there are guidelines which allows reserved candidates with
disabilities to be adjusted against unreserved vacancies if they qualify as per
general quota merit but it's hardly implemented in spirit. The govt recruitment
agencies always invent some reason to not follow this rule with reasonings like
candidate has availed time concession, scribe , exemption from typing test,
exemption from physical endurance test so according to them such candidates are
to be considered only under Disability quota as they availed certain facilities
which are exclusively extended to candidates under disability quota. There are
several court orders that confirms availing facility of scribe or time
concession doesn't amount to relaxation in standard of suitability. These
facilities are reasonable accommodation which can be availed under whatever
category you have applied for but should have a qualifying disability. Things
like typing, physical endurance test are only of qualifying nature and they
are not awarded any marks in most of the exams.

I remember the latest guidelines for conduct of examination of PwD issued by
Railways after enactment of the new disability act clearly mentions that
candidates for group d jobs (class 4) are not to be considered under general
quota even if they score above general merit cutoff as they are exempted from
qualifying the Physical efficiency test (running).

Hello everyone, I'm in need of some answers to my questions and
clarifications for my doubts regarding online booking of train and

First of all, for online booking of tickets for indian railway, which
app do you all prefer, which is accessible for talkback and

Further, is there an option of availing the benifit of concession by
entering the ID number of the card issued by the indian railway for
differently abled?
For the above, which android app do you all prefer the most, please suggest.
Secondly, for booking flight tickets, which app is accessible with
Talkback and easy to use by us visually impaired?
Could any one suggest please?
Along with booking of flight tickets, which apps do you suggest that I
can install, which can notify me regarding any offers in flight
tickets ETC.
Looking forward for your answers, thanks in advance.

Re: [AI] SBI clerical: blind stuck between general and VI cut off

2018-10-11 Thread Asudani, Rajesh
Cut off for Unreserved = 85.xx
Cut off for VI= 102.xx
Cut off for OBC = 78.xx
Cut off for SC, say, = 75.xx
Cut off for ST, say, = 72.xx

What about those blind with score of 90, 100, 80, 73, and so on?

Please think.
Have they been given jobs?
Shouldn't they be given jobs?

Re: [AI] SBI clerical: blind stuck between general and VI cut off

2018-10-11 Thread Avee Gupta
Dear friends ,
I am also thinking on this since a long time as the cutoff's are
multifolding in past couple of years it's now high time to review the
existing scribe policy for online exams.
My view on this is as follows
No scribe for online exams.
Screen reading softwares like NVDA should be provided and exam centres
should be made accordingly accessible
As NVDA is actually for no cost the exam body will have to pay a
little for buying some speech synthesizers like elequence and other
languages like hindi, marathi etc.
Dependence on scribe will be fore gone and actual talent will be short listed .
Some people may argue that a visually impaired who is not computer
literate will be left out , but i think in industries like banking and
insurance there is no place for a computer illiterate employee.
So called activists in disability field might be offended with this
mail but still i want to put up my thoughts.
I know i am sounding really harsh but it's actually true .
It's time to review policy only for online exams like banking and
finance industry so that actual talent comes and really works in the
industry .
Thanks and regards
Avee Gupta

[AI] FW: Making Indian Currency accessible--not the technology way

2018-10-11 Thread Asudani, Rajesh
We should flood RBI mailboxes.

From: Asudani, Rajesh
Sent: 11 October 2018 11:50
To: CGM-I-C DCM ; DCM Planning Division

Cc: Dr. Viral V Acharya
Subject: Making Indian Currency accessible--not the technology way

Madam / Sir

I am a totally blind Indian citizen using currency.
I have come to know that to solve the long-standing problem of inaccessibility
of INR Notes for the blind, RBI is mulling coming up with some technological
solution like some app or so.

There were times when all INR notes were easily identifiable as they had
different sizes.
In the mad rush for modernization and sophistication, we have given up much
that was intuitively simple and useful.
The same holds true about INR notes which are almost uniform in size now which
makes it a hell for blind and senior citizens to use them.

I have already tried to use some of the apps which identify denomination of INR.
Their results are not at all satisfactory.
OCR has not yet advanced enough to call it fool-proof.

Moreover, it is totally impracticable to use an app with a device in crowded
transport, moving vehicle, Indian streets and in any typical Indian scenario of
give and take.
Taking out the mobile device, holding it and focusing on the note and hering
the results all involve almost a superhuman effort for a blind person in the
cacophony that is India, while simultaneously being mobile and oriented without
seeing.
We have come across many instances where mobile phones have been snatched from
the hands of blind users when they were making calls.
This type of scenarios may not be prevalent from those countries were you were
referring to while using technology intervention.

Besides, for a vast majority of blind citizens, it is beyond their means to buy
a smart phone at present, unless of course, the central bank has a plan of
providing it along with app free of charge, Smile!
There are many blind persons who are into hawking low priced items. Their
working conditions is extremely challenging. If they were to use only such
devices their output would fall substantially and thereby lower their income
which itself is paultry. Far from it being a progressive measure it would in
reality be an extremely regressive step.

I would like to place it on record that I in unmistakable terms reject the
approach of using technology intervention as a primary mechanism of
identification in determining the denomination.
This can be best a secondary or tertiary approach.

The stationary used on international currency are polymer based which makes it
the symbols crisp and easy to identify. The material used presently is not
suitable for it especially in our climatic conditions.

International standards have called for 10mm distinction between the nearest
currency and we strongly support for this to be observed in our currency.

It is also wrong to say that use of physical currency is on the decline.
Statistically the propensity to use paper currency continues to be on the rise
As is evident from the RBI annual report for 2017-2018:
VIII.2 The value of banknotes in circulation increased by 37.7 per cent over
the year to ₹18,037 billion as at end-March 2018. The volume of banknotes,
however, increased by 2.1 per cent. In value terms, the share of ₹500 and ₹2000
banknotes, which had together accounted for 72.7 per cent of the total value of
banknotes in circulation at end-March 2017, increased to 80.2 per cent as at
end-March 2018. The share of newly introduced ₹200 banknotes in the total value
of banknotes in circulation was 2.1 per cent as at end-March 2018. In volume
terms, ₹10 and ₹100 banknotes constituted 51.6 per cent of total banknotes in
circulation as at end- March 2018 as compared to 62.0 per cent at end-March
2017 (Table
VIII.1).””

Even technology driven tools like POS terminals,ATM’s, websites, etc. are by
and large inaccessible. Despite the directions given in so many years the
ground reality is far from satisfactory because of absence of enforcing the
existing directions.

In view of the above we urge you to work on making 10 mm differentiation
between the nearest denomination notes which is the simple enough solution.
Make all the POS and ATM’s, all portals and apps having financial transactions
fully accessible.

Subject: [AI] SBI clerical: blind stuck between general and VI cut off

Friends

I have come to know that cut off for SBI clerical Maharashtra for general
is 85.62, whereas the same for VI is 102.xx

Now, this is very interesting and controvertial.

Apart from ascribing it to scribes, other possibilities include very
limited vacancies and real intelligence of blind candidates.

Be that as it may, one thing is there.

Those blind stuck between these two cut offs, i.e. 85.62 and 102.xx
should also get the job.

If anyone like this is there, please come forth.

Other interesting questions to be decided include adjusting those
qualifying on their own merit without relaxed standards against reserved
vacancies for blind against DoPT circular, but which is in accordance with
Rajesh Dariya judgment and so on.
