[AI] ADMISSION NOTICE: Career Oriented Digital Accessibility Training Program

2018-12-06 Thread Prashant Ranjan Verma

NAB Delhi announces the first ever Digital Accessibility Training Program
for the visually impaired under the ARICENT Roshni Ka Safar Project. This
project is being supported by ARICENT, a leading Global Design and
Engineering company under their CSR Initiative.

Course starts: 2 January 2019. Course ends 31 March 2019. Last date to

apply: 18 December 2018

NAB Delhi is the premier institute for the ICT Training and it has been the
number one choice for the visually impaired candidates in north India. Since
1996 we have trained thousands of visually impaired persons of all age
groups in the use of computers and assistive technology.

DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY has emerged as a new field for employment of the
visually impaired. In the recent past skilled blind persons have been able
to get employed as Software Testers, Accessibility Evaluators, Usability
Testers, Trainers and Technical Writers. There is an increased awareness to
make the digital systems such as websites, eBooks, software and mobile apps
usable by the persons with disabilities. Various international and national
laws are now making this a necessary compliance requirement. Therefore,
there is an increasing demand for those persons who can test the websites
and other digital mediums and report problems if any for use by disabled
persons. Since the blind persons after training can effectively use the
digital medium, this field has emerged as a very suitable career option for
the blind and low vision. Already dozens of visually impaired are working
for MNCs and Indian companies across the country in the accessibility field.

Re: [AI] ADMISSION NOTICE: Career Oriented Digital Accessibility Training Program

2018-12-06 Thread Prashant Ranjan Verma
Dear Amar,
We are primarily looking for those candidates who are seeking employment or
could benefit by way of better job opportunities.
People who have cleared one IAAP exam may qualify as a trainer but not as a
trainee.

Thanks,

Dear Shiva,
Yes you can join the program.
Classes will be held as per a flexible schedule which will be determined by
the trainer who will be assigned to you. The trainer may agree for classes
in the evenings or may want it during day time. I cannot assure you the
timings as of now.

[AI] Issues with VVPATs

2018-12-06 Thread pavan kumar lingam
dear Friends.
General Elections are going
 to take place in 2019.
they are going to use VVPAT so that Voter can confirm his / her Vote
but how can we Make sure
our vote has gon to the intended Candidate?
its time we have to take this up with ECI if already we have any
progress please share.
thanks and regards,

Re: [AI] Issues with VVPATs

2018-12-06 Thread Vaishnavi Jayakumar (Inclusive India)
Dear Pavan,

VVPATs themselves are just a placebo and a concession by the ECI to a
perpetually EVM-conspiracy theorising public.

I urge the blind community to desist from asking for VVPAT accessibility -
the EVM which by virtue of its rudimentary design is invulnerable to
largescale hacking precisely due to the lack of add ons and connectivity.

Any extras are just going to mean more complexity which will lead to weaker
security.

How is a blind person supposed to know that the EVM has not been rigged?
Very simple. Sighted people are the control in this scenario and are bound
to raise an alarm if the input choice is not what VVPAT is showing.

It is currently not possible to manipulate single votes even if by some
remote chance it has been tampered with.

VO+as

battery/network/WiFI/Bluetooth/location. I'm sorry if it is changed in the
