address in this UDID card, then what is the solution when I shift back
to my hometown in Karnataka after retirement then how can I use this
card, presently this UDID card is done in my Delhi Address.

Re: [AI] UDID cards

2022-02-22 Thread Darshana Mudholkar
Medical assessment became necessary somehow to avoid fraud cases
hence for maximum people who applied for UDID card with 100% degree
of disability also need to visit CMO. Maximum civil hospital follow
this process. It is a feedback from low vision people that after
medical assessment they receive degree of disability lesser than
earlier one. For example, one person who is suffering by eye
condition RP had earlier certificate of 40% and after UDID process
and medical assessment he was given certificate of 30%. Medical
authority explained about strict examination process order by
ministry to avoid fraud cases.

RE: [AI] Regarding Income Tax Website

2022-02-22 Thread Kanchan Pamnani
Unfortunately the Courts are barely hearing matters at present or atleast this
is my experience with Bombay High court.
I have one matter for physical accessibility filed in October 2021 and another
against the Finance Ministry for inaccessible MCA portal/website. Sorry to say
that nothing is coming up for hearing.
The Income tax accessibility matter is also pending since October 2021 before
the CCPD.
So I once again request you to file anything you want wherever you want. We all
have to work on this together.
The pressure from different people may get things moving.

Complaining on accessindia is a first step only.

Dear Kanchan Madam,
Trust me previous night I was thinking about IT website accessibility.
Should i file PIL in Calcutta high court? neither i'm from Law background nor
computer science so this is the big hurdle for me. I do not know how long will
it take if we approach court. I feel CCPD has little power or willingness. I
don't know why PWD community is not demanding for disability commission like
commission for SC, ST OBC and women. although i'm less educated than other
Access Indians I'm going through similar issue. I would not like to share my
personal details with accountant or anyone else. We cannot trust anyone. Last
year accountant said he would charge 4000 for filing ITR. I think if site
becomes accessible then It will take less than 30 minutes.

I'm thankful to you for your reply. Actually i have not yet bought
the phone. I'm planning to buy once I receive my current month's

Initially I thought of buying Samsung phone because of it's
reputation in terms of accessibility and usability for Visually
Impaired. Battery strength is good in Samsung phone. but It will
 cost between 13000 + to 15000. I didn't get any recommendation about
any Samsung device available below 1 from this list. It means
there are no good Samsung device available in this range. if you
join me we both can contribute and buy Samsung phone for her. I will
contribute 1 some little adjustment here and there I will
manage. Actually my 50 % salary goes to my parents because my father
lost his job during pandemic He was a driver. My brothers are busy with
 their own life.
They do not sholder parents responsibility but we can't leav behind
this Visually Impaired girl. I will let you know about final plan
once I get my current month's salary. Thank you so much for joining
with me. I'm also trying from my side if I can pay some down payment
and make rest EMI through any shop. if this will work for me then I
will be able to manage on my own. Whatever will be the plan, I will
 let you know.

Dear Friends,

The ITR filing for the current financial year will commence in
approximately3 months from now and we VI people will again face lots of
hardships

I still do not find the incometaxindia.gov.in accessible with screen readers.

The IT department claims that returns filed from the new website will be
processed within 1 day of filing. I wonder whether there is a single assessee
whose ITR has been processed in one day.
I filed my ITR in October 2021 andso far it has not been processed.

Re: [AI] UDID cards

2022-02-22 Thread Amar Jain

Dear Asif bhaiya,

The usage of this card depends from state to state. For instance West
Bengal doesn't even issue UDID and they have their own state card.

The longterm plan is to make this as a universal disability identity
card for availing all government benefits. Few states have done so, and
many are still lagging behind.

Even at the central government level, there is no consistent opinion.
For instance, railways still requires people to possess their own
concession certificate + EPIC.

Not sure if this card was declared as an officially valid document for
the purposes of PML rules.

Bus Pass and for Railway E Concession card UDID card has been done
mandatory, likewise in many states such as Karnataka has made
compulsory of UDID card.

Sir, I received my UDID Number and digital medical Blindness
 certificate
 by
mail in June 2021 and till date I have not received any hard copy of
 card,
 I
myself have taken out colour print, leminated and using as UDID card.
 But
in getting this UDID number I faced too much of problem. The main
 problem
here is Department of Disabilities are giving detail of hospital which
 is
 very far from our residence.
