Hello everyone,

Hope you all are doing well!

I have a query regarding typing practice for exam preparation. I want to
understand what type of content we get to type in exam, is it a paragraph with
only alphabets or symbols and numeric digits are also included, and how it
happens means is it that scribe will be reading the matter for us or how it
actually happens?

Also, how can I do the practice, is there any software available with screen
reader. Please suggest and connect with me if there is anyone in the list have
the experience of appearing in such exams.

Thanks & Regards,

Deepak

[AI] Reservation in education: data to show skewed implementation

2023-09-13 Thread Mission Accessibility
Hi all,

in a pending Delhi High Court matter [Jahanvi Nagpal v. UoI and others],,
I am making the argument that, since s. 32 of the RPwD A [the provision on
reservation in education] does not provide a disability-based segregation
of how the 5% reserved seats are to be allocated, we have a situation where
a large majority of such seats are going to students with locomotor
disabilities, to the exclusion of other disabilities recognized in the RPwD
Act. In the last hearing, the court had asked me to provide the empirical
data for this assertion. Can someone share any source where such data is
documented? The RTI responses that I have gotten have been deeply
unsatisfactory, with authorities simply moving the application to another
office or giving irrelevant responses. The next date is 19th September
[next Tuesday], and I would like to file the affidavit by Friday [15th].

Rahul

Hi,

It is not necessary to reply to each and every mail on the list unless
you're contributing to it or have specific queries on the contents of
the email. Just saying "OK" only increases the unwanted traffic on the
large lists such as this one.

Hope this is taken positively and not in any other sense.

With best regards,
Satguru Rathi.

[AI] Online coding for the visually impaired persons

2023-09-13 Thread Anjineyulu Jogi
Hey guys,

I'm looking for online institutions that teach HTML JavaScript or other
programming languages to visually impaired persons. Do you know of any?

I've been doing some research online, but I haven't been able to find many
options. I know that there are a number of challenges that visually
impaired persons face when learning to code, but I'm confident that there
are institutions out there that are able to provide high-quality
instruction to visually impaired students.

If you know of any institutions that offer online programming courses for
visually impaired persons, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
 Anjineyulu jogi.

Re: [AI] Reservation in education: data to show skewed implementation

2023-09-13 Thread Baldev Gulati
Dear Mr. Rahul,
Greetings
To the best of my experience, I believe it would be difficult for you
to get the empirical data without filing the RTI separately to various
deemed universities. I believe it would take you at least 2 months to
obtain the data from universities. In case of any urgency, I would
recommend visiting the sites of various Universities. Each university
usually has an equal opportunity or enabling cell. The email id of the
same should be available on the University website. When you file RTI,
please ask for specific data in terms of admissions and undergrad,
Postgraduate and doctoral level. Please specifically ask regarding the
number of applications from each disability and admissions given.

I've been doing some research online, but I haven't been able to find many

[AI] Uses of UDID card and a suggestion

2023-09-13 Thread Saurav Hegde
Greetings all,
I was following the thread on getting issued a railway concession card and
there were certain things I felt which I want to share.
First, what is the point of the Udid card.
It just feels like a centralised disability certificate whose primary use
is only verification and nothing much. Secondly
According to me, if I have a UDID card, I should not be required to go
anywhere.
The fact that I have a card issued by the government itself, proves that I
am disabled.
The process should be completely online, where you upload documents
including the card, after the verification, you should be allowed to
download the card in E form and after few days, you get the physical card
delivered as well.
Or, even better, simply upload the UDID card while booking a train itself
and you get the concession.
I hope, I make cense and officials and lawyers, please do raise this issue
or, correct me if I am wrong.

Warm regards,
Saurav Hegde

Re: [AI] Regarding 0 balance FASTAG for four wheeler

2023-09-13 Thread Satguru Rathi

Hi,

I don't know any specific person who has got the 0 balance fastag and am
planning to apply myself on this week end. However, I had spoken to AICB
and they told me that one of their member  has got the said fastag. I
know in Delhi few people have tried but their applications got rejected
because the RC card issued to them does not contain "Divyangjan without
availing GST concession" under the ownership type. There is lot of
confusion in this regard as many people have told me that in Delhi, the
RC is issued in form of a small card like a credit card which has
limited space but in my case, I have been issued a full A4 size RC and
it specifically contains the above wording. Let's hope for the best when
I apply for the same and will share the outcome.

With best regards,
Satguru Rathi.
