You may try these steps:
Press alt+f for file / office menu in word.

Press up arrow twice for word option and hit enter.

Arrow down to proofing in the category box.

Press tab once for auto correct option dialogue box and press enter.

In the first field type in the short string (such as sn for Shankar).

Tab over to the next field type the actual word, say Shankar.

Tab over to the add button and it will add this short string as a 
contraction to the word dictionary.


Keep adding short strings and then hit the ok button.

Indian  Banks’  Association  invites  feedback  from  the  public  on  the
 draft  Accessibility Standards and Guidelines for Banking Sector.

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has advised the
Ministries / Departments  to  prepare  and  finalize  the  accessibilities
 standards  in  respect  of  the  facilities and services accessible  to
persons with disabilities pertaining to their respective sector after
stakeholder consultation. Accordingly, DFS  has mandated IBA to formulate
Guidelines for Customers with Special needs and Persons  with Disabilities
with respect to Banking Sector and for conducting the stakeholder
consultation.

The draft guideline compiled on ‘Accessibility Standards and Guidelines for
Banking Sector’ for differently abled customers is displayed for the public
opinion.

The  feedback  on  the  Draft  guidelines  were  earlier  obtained  from
 the  Public  with  timeline upto  11.09.2023.  However,  with  a  view  to
 obtain  diverse  feedback  it  has  been  decided  to extend the feedback
till 20.10.2023.The feedback may be sent tovp.r...@iba.org.in.

Feedback already  submitted  in  response  to  the  earlier  NOTICE need
 not be resubmitted.

Please refer to the website of IBA for the details. It is the same old
draft of a total 12 pages.

versa both work well. I need to know what if I continue using JAWS

Hi Avinash,
I think since now you have the J23, you should use it instead. In 
addition to other enhancements, it lets you to use voice commands to 
perform various Jaws commands. It is always recommended to use the 
latest software if one can afford it. As per your previous Jaws 
settings, follow the steps described in the mail below by Shankar.

College, as completed its 20 years of services on 17th September, 2023. On
reaching this important milestone, we have organized a series of 20 Tech
Roshni sessions on different topics for persons with disabilities. On the
eve occasion of White Cane Day.

We are happy to announce our 4th online workshop on the theme “*Let’s* *Explore
Envision*” for persons with blindness and low vision on 14th October, 2023.
This Workshop is supported by the *Dhun Pestonji Parakh Discretionary Trust*
.

*Envision *empowers people who are blind or have low vision to access
everyday visual information for themselves. It has Lots of features like
Find People, Find Objects, Teach a Face and Explore, Describe Scene, Detect
Light, Recognise Cash, Detect Colors, Instant Text etc. Because it isn’t
just information. It’s knowledge, independence and possibility.

[AI] 'Tamil Nadu must act with a sense of urgency in filling up teaching vacancies in special schools for the visually challenged', says Madras High Court

The State government must “act with a sense of urgency” in a matter
related to the large number of sanctioned teaching posts that are
lying vacant in schools run by it for visually challenged children and
not “put the career of such students in jeopardy” due to the
non-availability of teachers, the Madras High Court observed on
Tuesday.


Chief Justice S.V. Gangapurwala and Justice D. Bharatha Chakravarthy
made the observation, while disposing of a public interest litigation
petition that complained about around 50% of the sanctioned posts
lying vacant in the special schools run by the State government in 10
different districts.

Advocate General R. Shunmugasundaram told the court that the
Directorate for the Welfare of the Differently Abled had initiated the
process of recruiting teachers for the special schools and that a
request was made to the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) to initiate
the process of recruiting 90 teachers.

The TRB, in turn, had written to the Directorate seeking certain
details before issuing the recruitment notification. The details would
be prepared and submitted soon, the A-G said, telling the court that
the Directorate had also sent a proposal to the State government for
recruiting 36 temporary teachers.

The proposal seeking financial sanction for the recruitment of
temporary teachers was under the active consideration of the
government, the A-G said. After recording his submissions, the judges
made it clear that temporary appointments could only be made as a
stop-gap arrangement until the appointment of permanent teachers.

They ordered that the details sought by TRB for the issuance of the
recruitment notification must be submitted to it within a month, and
thereafter, the process of recruiting permanent teachers for the
sanctioned posts must be completed as early as possible.

Advocate P. Pugalendhi had filed the case, highlighting the vacancies
in the schools in Tanjavur, Tiruchi, Poonamallee, Salem, Madurai,
Pudukottai, Sivaganga, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, and Cuddalore
districts. He said the Poonamalee school did not have a principal, and
five other schools did not have a headmaster, despite them being
sanctioned posts.

His counsel, M. Radhakrishnan, said the situation was no different
with respect to other teaching posts too and contended that a huge
number of vacancies would defeat the object of the Right of Children
to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act of 2009 and turn illusory
the right to education guaranteed under Article 21A of the
Constitution.
