Dear Members, I just called Dell for laptop enquiry. They informed me that there are very few laptops which now comes with Windows XP. I will have to pay higher if I wish to go for Laptop with Windows XP. I want to ask is JAWS version which most of us using are compatible with Vista? Are we able to access each and every feature of Vista right from simple navigation to system administration using our JAWS? I have also heard that a particular JAWS version 8.4xxx does not work with vista and raise errors like Unknown function call. Is it true? When the processor wishes to read or write a location in main memory, it first checks whether that memory location is in the cache. If the processor finds that the memory location is in the cache, the processor immediately reads or writes the data in the cache. In short a computer without cache means very slow computer even though RAM is present, it is considered slow as compared to those machines which have cache. Sanjeev Ji, In the field of Linux you have two Choices for Screen Reader. One is Orca and the other is LSR (Linux Screen Reader). Between the two, Orca is most widely used and is better. It is being developed by Sun MicroSystems. Recently I have come to know that now Open Office has now accessable with Orca. As for as Linux flavor, Ubuntu is there which come with Orca and E-SPeak Pre Loaded. Although you can run Orca on Red Had as its RPM package is available. Now you can completely Live on Linux without touching Windows. I cannot say much about LSR Because I have not tried it. But from the feedback I am sure Orca has upper edge over LSR. Hi Friends, I am in favour of getting connection for internet from BSNL. Since BSNL is India wide telecom company so we should approach their CMD New Delhi. As truth is I am from bhopal and I am having the net connection of 256 kpbs but strange thing while uploading I get only 7 Kpbs. It is painfull to have such uploading speed and we all know in today's age we all require high upload speed well. So, I strong in the favor of getting concession in internet connections specially in BSNL broadband because of its government nature, it might do if for us. Hello Friends, In order to remove greater sign in OE I tried Tools > Options and in send tab I have not found the "Text settings button". There are two buttons for mails. These are HTML Settings and Plain Text Settings. But choossing both these buttons, I have not got the check box stating "Intent the original message while replying" I am using Outlook Express 6 with Windows 2003 Server. Any way email Stripper is working find but I have to lounch and paste the message in that program to remove that signs. Any way somthing is better than nothing. Hi 2 all Members, I am working in .net 2003and JAWS 7.0. In the code editorwindow, as soon as statement completion listbox appears and as I select method or property, the associated tool tip of respective method or property is not spoken by JAWS. How can i make JAWS 7.0 to speakit. I have also tried Ctrl+Shift+K which is for reading quick info tooltip. But it is not working. Please suggest me what would I do. Hello Aruni, Just try this, start windows narrator, stop jaws, start ms word, then start jaws and stop windows narrator. Now check does word works normally. What is happening here is that when word start jaws is not running. so , jaws loads in memory after word has been loaded. Employment: It is known that govt. provide 1% reservation to VH in govt sector. Similarly, reservation should be provided in private sector. Although some companies are sensetized toward this but it should be binding on all private companies to employee at least one VH in their companies. I know govt. cannot control the recruitment process of private sector but India as mixed economy, govt. can regulate the activities of a private sector. So, govt can achieve this 2. Rehabilitation In order to rehabilate handicapped gobet should provide financial assistance without interest. VH have less mobility as compared to sited people. So, they connect them with whole world via computers. internet. So, govt. if possible provide concessions in telephone billing. I know 50% concession is provided but it is on rent. This is very old scheme. Concession on whole telephone billing should be provided because internet billing is included in telephone. Hello Dev As you r saying the pc has gone slow for the last two weaks, it means it is infected with worm/virus/spyware like stuff.. I suggest u scan your pc with antivirus and anti spyware tools. I do agree invalid registry entries slow down pc. Since you r saying it takes a lot of time at start up it means lot many programs is running at startup. Remove un-necessary programs at start up. To remove services and start up programs Go to start /run and type 'msconfig'. In msconfig property sheet select services tab and un check unnecessary services similarly do the same at start up tab. It is economical because when we check mails from site the whole pages gets downloaded to our system which includes flash animation and other stuff which is useless for us. I am considering those situations where ISP charges internet usage charges on the basis of data transfer like bsnl dsl internet connection. While ypops directly fetch mails from yahoo servers.
