There are 3 cable jacks on the bottom of device namely headphone, USB and External Mike from left to right. On the top left side of the device there is a SD card slot where 32 GB card can be inserted. The seller claims the 8 GB internal memory but I found only 4 GB internal memory. This device supports Hindi and English languages and both languages have male and female voice engines. The sound of the device from the speaker and sound of voice engine are excellent. The speaker is located behind the device. The device is ultra light to carry. The device comes with many functions like clock, alarm, stop watch, daisy reader, music player, compass, calculator and FM radio. To perform calculations on device is very complex process as it does not have numeric and function key, so 1 has to select each digit with arrow key and functions by menu key. The Unlike its predecessor this device does not have short wave and medium wave radio but only has FM radio. The FM radio only can be played by connecting the headphone. The quality of FM receiver is less than average. If this device is to be used by blind peoples then it should have multiple radio bands. The music quality improves little if you attach a branded headphone. Summery, this is a very nice device for academic purpose but don’t expect it to be work as an entertainment device. After choosing the RRB in the combo box, a link appears where you can find the details of vacancies in that particular RRB. 6. The same procedure has to be followed for each RRB. After finalising the RRB you can proceed further. In this online application a very important issue that needs to be taken care of is that one has to provide details of the SCRIBE too while applying. I am bit worried about this issue as how we can decide the scribe right now and fill in the details along with the photograph at the time of applying for a post. In my personal view it is just to make the application process more difficult and to harass visually impaired job seekers, as a large number of candidates will not be able to fill the form completely and accuratel. Those of you who are not aware of what Windows Insider is, it is a programme like many other beta programmes run by software companies to test their software during the development phase to workout the flaws and then release a fully tested version. For more details, check out: https://insider.windows.com/ If you want to know how to get Windows 10 for free and you don't have Windows 7 or Windows 8 genuine licence, read the blog post by Microsoft here: http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2015/06/19/upcoming-changes-to-windows-10-insider-preview-builds/ Please note:- This Insider programme is not meant for beginners and only those who possess sufficient knowledge about formatting and clean installing an operating system should enter this programme. Re: [AI] Paper of Interest: Neoliberalism, postsocialism, disability
Hi is kindel user friendly for us shubhanku kochar ast.prof lady irwin du Sent from my iPhone On 19-Apr-2015, at 7:03 pm, avinash shahi shahi88avin...@gmail.com wrote: Abstract This paper discusses the impact of neoliberalism on disability policy and activism. The paper highlights the neoliberalisation of postsocialist disability policy, as well as the convergence between the neoliberal critique of welfare-state paternalism and the advocacy of disabled people's movement for deinstitutionalisation and direct payments (personal assistance). The discussion is supported by examples from Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. In conclusion, the paper argues that neoliberalism confronts the disabled people's movement with two difficult tasks: to defend self-determination while criticising market-based individualism, and to defend the welfare state while criticising expert-based paternalism. Re: [AI] Blind English Lit Professor from DU authors a new novel
Thanks alot Sent from my iPhone On Feb 8, 2015, at 8:34 PM, Arpit Jain (Advocate) arpit@gmail.com wrote: Hi! Recently, Mr. Shubhanku Kochar authored a new novel Everything will be alright after months of hardwork, determination dedication. About the author: Shubhanku Kochar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the department of English Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi. He has many articles and research papers published in both national and international journals. Before the present novel, he has published two academic books which are well appreciated. He is an M.phil Gold Medalist and Ph.D. His area of interest is Afro-American and Dalit literature. This is what he had to say about when he is not teaching or writing, I am fun loving person i like cricket and watching plays i am a foody person so love to try new dishes i also want to roam all around india to feel her magic. About the book: The novel is about two lovers cum friends Nihal and Bhoomi who leave their houses in search of fulfillment. They both have a dream. Nihal wants to win a gold medal in Mega events on an international platform, whereas Bhoomi wants to search her biological parents as she is an adopted child. Both of them meet at a certain point and fall in love and decide to get married even after the divine forces have declined for their match. Along with this runs a parallel story of Antra and Apurava who come from different backgrounds. They also fall in love with their own terms for getting married. The story is full of magic realism where God and human being, myth and reality participate collectively towards a certain direction. The attempt here is to experiment with the phrase-everything will be alright. Actually, human beings have the tendency of saying to each other that 'Dont worry, Everything will be alright,' in our sheer exuberance, we keep on challenging the unseen forces represented by God. The question that the novel poses before the reader is 'can everything be alright?' Moreover, the intervention of God or Nature at various places is symbolic in asserting that human being should not try to behave like the Lord of Universe. Available at: This book is available in both print ebook (offcourse in accessible format). Print: Amazon, Flipkart, Infibeam, Shopclues. Ebook: Amazon Kindle, Google Play Books, Scribd.com Payhip.com (I have personally tested the accessibility of ebook on Amazon Kindle and it works well both on IPhone , Android Windows Pc) Contact details of author: E-mail: shubhankukoc...@gmail.com Contact#: 09717464887 Skype ID: shubhankukoc...@outlook.com I would urge fellow Access Indians to try out the sample first chapter and if you like it, do buy it and support this upcoming author and also send your best wishes to him. -- Arpit Jain (Advocate) Register at the dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones / Tabs on: http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/accessindia@accessindia.org.in/ To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe. I face this all the time. Some of the strategies I have tried to adopt are as unde: 1. Talk to the organisers about the challenge. Very often the organisers if informed in advance will make arrangements for you to meet with people you want. 2. Make your presence felt by asking questions and pertinent comments. Also sometimes if you want to meet anyone in particular, then mention your blindness and your desire in meeting up with the particular pannelist. 3. Try to talk to the organisers in advance and see if you could be one of the pannelists. It always helps to be a pannelist because people will then come to you. 4. Establish your equity by writing blogs, making meaningful contributions in forums that you are interested in, participate in debates/discussions so that people notice you and start valuing your views to the point they begin to approach you. 5. You could request the organisers to share contact information of the people you want to get to know and connect with them outside the conference. This is often better. I always prefer a one on one interaction as compared to a group interaction with the pannelist. The above are a few short term and long term ideas. If you would like to discuss the issue further, you could give me a call. Subject: [AI] Networking in Conferences Hi All, I hope this message finds you well. I am wondering if any of you might be able to share some valuable and actionable insights about the strategies that can be adopted to meet new people at conferences. I, for one, am always dependent on the mercy of the people with whom I am at a conference insofar as meeting panelists is concerned. This works just fine if the other person is just as passionate as I am about forging new relationships, but it becomes problematic when the other person lacks either the desire or the nerve to go up to a panelist and strike up a conversation. You typically only get a handful of minutes to meet these panelists and , therefore, there's a lot of hustle and bustle in the conference arena. As a result, asking a volunteer for help or trying to find your way on your own are not feasible solutions. Please let me know what you think about this.
