[AI] An enquiry about signatures
Hi Access india list I am writing here to enquire about how my seniors and colleagues here have handled the issues related to signatures especially for banking concerns. I wanted to know if its just simpler to use the thumb impressions or some way of digital verification. Over the years my signature has not remained consistent worsening to a point that now any 2 signatures appear different. Would it be advisable to just create a rubber stamp with my signature and use that - i ask as it has been quite frustrating to hear bank branch managers asking me to look at the screen and copy the signature or asking me to practise repeatedly till i get it right. This is over and above providing identity documents such as Adhaar and PAN and passport. Parts of the process are more preposterous - signing within a box ! Signing so that half the signature comes over the photo and the other half on paper ! Why is a signature the only means of confirming something ? Is there any way i could do this better ? Is there an accessible solution / workaround ? Are there any guidelines or advisories that will help me in this regard ? Sincerely Sharad -- Disclaimer: 1. Re: [AI] An enquiry about signatures
I would say thumb impression is the best. I have met those people who have this wrong approach that thumb impression is made by the uneducated. ironically, uneducateds are safer because, it cannot be copied or forged like signatures what the so called educateds propagate. I believe that thumb impression is the best option being blind. Re: [AI] An enquiry about signatures
It may be the best approach but most of the banks would not like to verify the thumb impression as they would claim that they don't have the required mechanism to verify the same. well do we have any laws about it? say, is there any clause that says thumb impression is accepted? Because there is no infrastructure available with banks to verify the thumb impression. Now CTS clearing has been come into the picture so it is not possible to verify and clear any cheque with thumb impression at present. Re: [AI] An enquiry about signatures
do the transactions digitally wherever is possible; get the signature guide and try to learn the signature the signatures will certainly differ if you are doing without the signature guide, I can say this from my own experiences, I am regularly using signature guide and my signatures have not been flagged ever by any bank as of now. but needless to say, finger print or the thump impression is a matchless option when you are signing important documents.
