[AI] Computer Course Announcement for Visually Impaired Individuals from the Blind Relief Association

The Blind Relief Association, Delhi is inviting applications from visually
impaired individuals for its upcoming computer training programs. These
specialized courses aim to equip participants with fundamental computer
skills and prepare them for a fulfilling future.

Course Offerings:

Four-month Basic Computer Course: This program focuses on developing core
computer literacy and essential applications.

Six-month Basic Computer Course & Office Operations: This comprehensive
program builds upon the basic program, additionally covering essential
office productivity tools.

Interview Details:

Date: June 28th, 2024

Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Benefits:

Gain valuable computer skills in a focused timeframe.

Earn a recognized NIIT certification upon successful completion.

Classes commence July 1st, 2024, held Monday-Saturday.

Eligibility:

Minimum Class 12 pass required.

Basic proficiency in English is mandatory.

 A few students of mine-studying 10th and 11th  are already familiar
with the basic usage of computers through NVDA.
I personally feel that they would get motivated if they enrol
themselves into the course and get certified.

CHENNAI: Presidency College is offering a computer course to train visually 
challenged students in word processing skills and data processing using 
spreadsheets
using specially-designed software.

The college invites applications for 10 seats for this academic year from 
candidates who have completed their bachelor's degree from any reputed 
university.

Announcement of "Computer Operations with Windows – Level 1" Course



Overview

The Xavier's Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC) works
towards creating an enabling environment to facilitate the development of an
inclusive society both at the micro as well as the macro levels thereby
providing equal opportunities for holistic growth for the visually
challenged.



The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art software and hardware, which
facilitate ease of learning and studying amongst the visually challenged
students and other persons both within the college and beyond. The software
and hardware support available at the centre include the following: JAWS
Screen Reading Software, Kurzweil 1000 OCR, MaGic Screen Magnification
software, Talking Typing Teacher Software, SARA Reading machine, PRISMA and
4 x 4 PRO Braille Embosser and many other.



Course Announcement

We are starting "Computer Operations with Windows – Level 1" course during
the school/college vacation for 4/5 students. The goal of this course is to
provide each of the participants' core computing concepts including: Windows
Concepts, Basic Word Processing, Internet Browsing, Email Operating using
Jaws screen reader and MaGic Screen Magnifier.  In addition there will
sessions on scanning and reading documents using Kurzweil 1000.



Teaching Methodology

Teaching will be concept based and with lots of exercises and practice
sessions. There will be a very favourable teacher-student ratio. The course
also seeks to provide the students with a gateway to higher education.



Duration

The course will be for 6 weeks with each student attending 3 days per week
and 4 hours per day.  This course will start on April 3, 2007 and will end
on May 12, 2007.



Entrance Criteria for the Course

A Visually Challenged person

Able to travel to and from course venue.

Proficiency with the English language

Able to attend course 3 days per week, 4 hours per day



Course Fees

This "Computer Operations with Windows – Level 1" training is being offered
without charge.  Students will however have to provide a refundable deposit
of Rs. 2000/-.  This amount will be return subject to 80% attendance, good
conduct and conscientious work.  Certificate will be issued after successful
completion of the course and after passing qualifying final test.



Students will also have to pay for study material (Braille, CDs, large print
as the case may be)
