Re: [AI] Satya meya Jayate
hello mukesh! i have conveyed views expressed in accessindia, to the email ID of amirkhan for ALL INDIA RADIO show, which comes at 11AM on akashvani and 3PM on vividhbharti, every saturday. - Original Message - From: "mukesh jain" To: Sent: Monday, June 11, 2012 12:52 AM Subject: Re: [AI] Satya meya Jayate Hello, Today’s show covering the aspects of PWD’S was certainly milestone in the area of making social awareness amongst society and its certainly a great push for the future. Unlike every new borne baby brings ray of hope for the bright future, I think this show too needs more improvements especially it could do lot while covering the aspects of PWD’s. I fully second the opinion expressed by zuzar sir because there are many candidates who are struggling for their appropriate position but due to the discrimination and many aspects like feeling of insecurity, superior domination etc the talent is being hidden or suppressed by the hierarchy of so called abled community. So I think there is more number of such people who are deprived of the right opportunity either in the field of education, employment, etc and their voice is being lost in the louder noise of big promises of abled community. Because I feel and experienced at several instance that so called abled community appreciates the talents of differently abled community, expresses sympathy, sorrows for their sufferings but when things come to practicality they tend to push their feet back from the battle field. I know few instances where the boys were differently abled from their eyes and were highly qualified when time came to search for their life partners, after looking at their resume they were ready with no hassle but when moment came to personal discussions parents from both the sides had some difference of opinion and slowly withdrawn their decision. Not only this, I have also seen that when one person from our so called differently able community tend to achieve some amount of good success, keep himself/herself isolated from their disabled counterpart so as to hide the situation of facing awkward while remaining in the group of sighted and successful colleagues at work or in the surroundings of abled community group. I do not name a particular person but the instant example is one person who were in this show and while in my school days I have seen the parents and teachers attitude of that person to keep away from the other differently abled colleagues in the school so that the concerned person will not get spoil or remain backward having no opportunity in the hands. Can we expect such person to represent the community of differently abled persons in the future? Sorry if I am going against the rules of the list but can not stop myself when things come to leading any needy segment of the society. If done so I am ready to face the consequences. I have no personal opinion against any particular person but this kind of situation takes place amongst us too so why to expect the things from the abled community when we ourselves has superior complex attitude somewhere not everywhere. But you might have heard the saying in Hindi because sorry my English is not that strong “ek aam agar kharab hai to puree tokree ko bigad sakta hai”. So I feel that there should be the strugglers of unemployment, strugglers of getting education as highlighted in the show be telecasted in the entire show and the our god father like jabedjee who had given the practical message amongst educators be telecasted who could share more relevant experiences with truth picture in front of the society. thanks, mukesh. Re: [AI] Satya meya Jayate
I felt good watching this episode covering disability on the show, I felt it could have covered more like sports and disability, attitude of disabled towards society, etc. Not every disabled has a positive outlook towards the society, there are people who just expect a positive and inclusive behavior from others but do not give a thought to their own contribution/responsibilities. Also isn't it unfair to just present cases of people who have excelled their fields of work? I didn't like seeing no cases of strugglers or little success on the show. It was kind of painting a rosy picture about disabled, it's true that many people overcome their disability and do remarkably well but telling that every disabled would attain the same level of success sounds exaggerating to me. Can someone help me with the name of the organization whose CEO and disabled folks were connected on the show through 3G network - the one where there are about 270 disabled folks in the organization. Also, the number was announced more than once and it's 5782711. A special thanks to Ketan and Krishnakant for representing visually challenged with such a positive attitude and an impressive manner. Thank you for the link. But, I think, there will very few who have the good internet connection to watch it. As always, I will download the video file, convert it into audio mp3, compress its size to one-third and upload it for the benefit of all who missed it. My upload will be only 18 MB. [AI] Satya meya Jayate
Friends It was indeed very thoughtful to have the spotlight on the issue of disability in this episode of the programme. Although the subject was treated wonderfully, regretly as often as reality is quite different as idealism, we tend to face and deal with it a little differently. I wanted to extend a support SMS, for I strongly think it is necessary to have an inclusive education campus without any further delay. However, the sms number was only displayed on the screen and the programme gooffed up on this subject of inclusiveness. What a cliche? Anyways, we are used to such setbacks and keep our lives going and find alternate means to do so. Keeping with this spirit, I am turning to the list and I am sure friends here would provide the number to send this support SMS. I am also hopeful, members would support this initiative in large number. Harish Kotian.
