Hi,
Kanchan, we can add to your anger. We roughly receive such queries every other
day from various places, and no bank appear to be knowing, and very few
respecting even after being apprised of the RBI IBA directives on the matter.
Even the customer care internal grievance redressal system of most banks are
unaware and have been of any help in many cases.

A few times we wrote to RBI - to their customer services dept, and the dept of
banking operations development - showing them the continuance/issuance of
contradictory rules by banks much after their June 2008 circular but to no
avail. Wonder if RBI has in place any mechanisim to monitor if their directives
are being followed, such as during bank audits inspections.

We think instead of a bank branch or their head office, shouldn't RBI be asked
what and how do they ensure that their directions are not violated. Because an

found out the same on the RBI site at:

 http://www.rbi.org.in/scripts/PublicationsView.aspx?Id=6564

however, unfortunately, it only lists the options for contacting the
concerned authority via snail mail, in so that, it doesn't list any
 emails or other contact forms.

request you ot assist me with the relevant contact details of the
authorities, so I may do the needful.

your help ideas would be appreciated.
