Hi,
One more thing that just struck my mind, is that try Steph 3 once
again, and through the Voice Settings dialog decrease the pitch.

Hi,
Ashik Sir,
I had shared the earlier the download link for Steph 3, you perhaps
missed it, so anyways, here is it again:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tpltp8xea0rcmsi/steph3?dl=0
If you were asking for the official source of this varian, there is
none, an NVDA user created it, shared it, on the NVDA list, but this
variant isn't yet included in NVDA itself.
The procedure to add/use this variant is to copy the downloaded file
into the directory path: C:\Program
Files\NVDA\synthDrivers\espeak-data\voices\!v
Satguru Sir,
I did not 'flag it illegal'. I said what NV Access, the developing
organisation of NVDA said. I do agree with you though, because
Eloquence has been made officially and legally available for Android,
and under the name of Voxin, on Linux as well, I did send this
question to them earlier that why could eloquence not be used legally
on Windows with NVDA while it can with other operating systems.
Thanks

Hi,
Download Steph 3 from

Which version of Windows do you use; 32 bit or 64 bit? I ask because
the procedure for adding this variant to NVDA differs slightly in the
two different operating systems.

Hi,
Ashik Sir,
I had shared the earlier the download link for Steph 3, you perhaps
missed it, so anyways, here is it again:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tpltp8xea0rcmsi/steph3?dl=0
Thanks

2014-11-18 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi,
Download Steph 3 from https://www.dropbox.com/s/tpltp8xea0rcmsi/steph3?dl=0
Which version of Windows do you use; 32 bit or 64 bit? I ask because
the procedure for adding this variant to NVDA differs slightly in the
two different operating systems.

Hi,
However, using Eloquence with NVDA is illegal (read this article:

Can you explain how Saksham is able to have Eloquence for ale with NVDA?
One more thing, if you need a voice that is 'human sounding' and
'pleasant', there certainly are other options.
1 variants of ESpeak -Steph 3 is the best ESpeak variant in terms of
human soundingness and pleasance.
2 using other TTSs - Vocalizer voices can be legally used with NVDA.
Several more human sounding text to speech engines can be legally used
with NVDA. For more information on such TTSs visit

I personally use Steph 3, an ESpeak variant. I will upload it to

This has been our understanding so far. Now that the NVDA itself comes
bundled with Eloquence, shouldn't we treat it something official? At least,
NVDA 2014.2 is packaged with with Eloquence by default. We really don't know
the intricacies and the latest developments. What we know for long is that
Eloquence is owned by the FreedomScientific, but there seem to be
interesting moves on this front in the recent past. Can anybody closely

Dear Jyothi,
Once the NVDA is installed, you should first go to the list of
synthesisers and select eloquence. If you haven't done it before, the
shortcut key to list out the synthesisers is "insert+control+S". Simply
enter on eloquence. Only then would Eloquence appear in Voices.

select eloquence. If you haven't done it before, the shortcut key to list out
the synthesisers is "insert+control+S". Simply enter on eloquence. Only then
would Eloquence appear in Voices.

 Dear Aravind,

I've come across a fairly rich repository of add-ons to NVDA, being
maintained probably by one of the contributors to the project. Here's
 the
 URL:

 http://jeff.vrnw.org/NVDA.htm

The repository has two Eloquence Add-ons, one with auto-language
 feature,
and the other without auto-language. I suspect that both 2014.1 and
 2014.2
versions of NVDA are built in with auto-language Add-on. So, you may
 try
 the
following and see if the problem you are currently facing can be
 rectified:
 1. Downloadd the Eloquence Add-on without Auto-language feature from
 the
 URL
 cited above.
 2. Remove the Eloquence Add-on from the NVDA which is loaded on your
 machine
 at the moment.
 3. Install the Add-on you've downloaded.
Please remember that the stated procedure wouldn't work on a Portable
 copy
of NVDA. Ensure that you install NVDA on your machine before you go
 ahead
with the experiment, if you haven't done it already.

 Best!

Re: [AI] eloquence for nvda

2014-05-25 Thread Neredimalli Annavaram

Dear Aravind,

I've come across a fairly rich repository of add-ons to NVDA, being maintained
probably by one of the contributors to the project. Here's the URL:

http://jeff.vrnw.org/NVDA.htm

The repository has two Eloquence Add-ons, one with auto-language feature, and
the other without auto-language. I suspect that both 2014.1 and 2014.2 versions
of NVDA are built in with auto-language Add-on. So, you may try the following
and see if the problem you are currently facing can be rectified:
1. Downloadd the Eloquence Add-on without Auto-language feature from the URL
cited above.
2. Remove the Eloquence Add-on from the NVDA which is loaded on your machine at
the moment.
3. Install the Add-on you've downloaded.
Please remember that the stated procedure wouldn't work on a Portable copy of
NVDA. Ensure that you install NVDA on your machine before you go ahead with the
experiment, if you haven't done it already.

Best!

setting, after changing the settings, ok button is not saving the
choices. so i'm forced to keep that dialogue window open and work. so
if somebody has a good eloquants means kindly share here.
