Hi,
Thanks to all of you that sent me spreadsheets and link to them. I'll be able
to build some doc with all that information!

I can't find what you're talking about when you talk about a verbose
listing. I actually have half of the job done, I still need to find a way to
print the entire list of GPOs, even those that were not modified/set.

GPMC can't seem to do that, actually the best I could get is the listing and
params of the "defined and applied" GPOs.

Sorry to bother you again guys ;)

Look into the Group Policy Management Console. It will allow you to do a
verbose listing of each GPO and the settings within. This display can then
be printed, saved as an HTNL file for use on a common site, etc.

Hi,
I've been asked to print, for documentation purpose, the list of all
GPO's and their settings. I did a search to find something on the MS site
but all that I found was a XLS file listing the GPO's from w2k3 (we are
still on w2k).

You guys have any 3rd parties of idea on how I can achieve this?

Thanks!

BTW, it's my first post here, I've been reading the list for awhile though

RE: [ActiveDir] printing GPO listing

2004-08-31 Thread Darren Mar-Elia
Unfortunately, this spreadsheet only includes Admin Template settings. There is
currently no tool that I know of that will print every setting available in every
default policy area, though its not by any means the first time I've heard that
request. Unfortunately, many of the policy options themselves are embedded within the
MMC DLLs that provide editing for those settings, so there's no easy programmatic way
to get to these options. The best you can do is a combination of that spreadsheet
below with screen shots or exports of the MMC namespace. Very cumbersome.

Hi,
It's me again ;)

I can't find what you're talking about when you talk about a verbose
listing. I actually have half of the job done, I still need to find a way to
print the entire list of GPOs, even those that were not modified/set.

GPMC can't seem to do that, actually the best I could get is the listing and
params of the "defined and applied" GPOs.

Sorry to bother you again guys ;)

Look into the Group Policy Management Console. It will allow you to do a
verbose listing of each GPO and the settings within. This display can then
be printed, saved as an HTNL file for use on a common site, etc.

I've been asked to print, for documentation purpose, the list of all

You guys have any 3rd parties of idea on how I can achieve this?

2004-08-31 Thread Jacqui Hurst
Do you have the Group Policy Management console installed?

If you do you can create either HTML or XML format report which includes all
the applied settings relevant to your implementation. (You have to created
a separate report for each GPO)

Depending on how many policies you have in place transferring these, in my
experience, to the spreadsheet format can be quite time consuming. The HMTL
report could save you a lot of time.

Hey Michael...

Best thing to do is install the GPMC for free, and it's also a very good
tool..

You can save reports as html's and print themeven export to excel after
that, if you need to.

John

2004-08-31 Thread Jorge de Almeida Pinto
Hi,

Try the Group Policy Management Console (with SP1) (it is free). You need a
XP or W2K3 box to use the GPMC.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0a6d4c24-8cbd-4b35-
9272-dd3cbfc81887&DisplayLang=en

With the GPMC you make a printout of the GPOs and the settings per GPO

Regards,
Jorge
