Zero campaigns returned from call to CampaignService.get using Python AdWords SDK

2019-01-16 Thread Scott Burkhalter
I'm following the examples included in the googleads-python-lib to learn
how to call Get on the CampaignsService
-
https://github.com/googleads/googleads-python-lib/blob/master/examples/adwords/v201809/basic_operations/get_campaigns.py

I'm receiving an empty response from the API - numEntries equals 0

Can someone help me understand why?

Device Preference and FeedItemTargetService

2019-01-16 Thread Varun Mathur
Hi ,
I need to understand how to query for Device Preference from
FeedItemTargetService in v201806 of Adwords API.

Currently (v201802), we use deviceprefernce and other non targeting fields
in selector.Additionally we provide filters via Predicate.Before querying
with this selector object in FeedItemService.
Now,per Migration guide (to V201806) :
All targeting fields were removed from FeedItem: devicePreference
scheduling campaignTargeting adGroupTargeting keywordTargeting
geoTargetingUse the FeedItemTargetService to set targeting for feed items
instead.

Can you please help me understand how shall I still be able to query for
devicePreference from FeedItemTargetService?

Thanks,
Varun

RE: Get readout from AdGroupCriterionService selector

2019-01-16 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello Yang,

The Target CPA bidding strategy sets the bids and help you get maximum
conversions at the target cost-per-acquisition (CPA) you set. Target CPA
bidding automatically finds an optimal CPC bid for your ad each time it's
eligible to appear. For example, if you choose a target CPA of $10, Google
Ads will automatically set your CPC bids to try to get you as many
conversions at $10 on average. This will be set as the highest max. CPC bid
that you want Google Ads to set for any keywords, ad groups or campaigns
using Target CPA bidding. You will need to use the CpcBid to set/get the
bid values for the criteria. You may refer to this help center article
 as a reference.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Bharani, AdWords API Team

Re: Zero campaigns returned from call to CampaignService.get using Python AdWords SDK

2019-01-16 Thread Scott Burkhalter
That was the problem :) I had not specified the client_customer_id in the
googleads.yaml file.

I need to iterate through a number of accounts for the task I've been
assigned. Is there a python example of how to change the
campaign_service.client_customer_id on the fly?

Would one create a new client for each account using the LoadFromString()
method?

Or can I set the client_service.client_customer_id property on the fly
prior to making my get() calls?

For pseudo-code example:

for ccid in list_of_customer_ids:
 # get the adwords client, would love to pass different client_customer_id
to this but not sure how to do so
 client = adwords.AdWordsClient.LoadFromString(ccid)

 # or, instead, can I just set the property like this
 client.client_customer_id = ccid

 # obtain the campaign service proxy
 campaign_service = client.GetService('CampaignService', version='v201809')

 #execute the query
 query = (adwords.ServiceQueryBuilder()
 .Select('Id', 'Name', 'Status', 'Labels')
 .OrderBy('Name')
 .Limit(0, PAGE_SIZE)
 .Build())

 # do stuff with the campaigns

 for page in query.Pager(campaign_service):
... do stuff with campaign info...

Thanks for any guidance

RE: Customer Match & Store Direct Conversions Approval

2019-01-16 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello John,

I understand your concern. Currently, it is not possible to test the upload
of Customer Match via test accounts. Our team is aware of this issue. You
may need to use your production account to test these features. Regarding
the Store Sales Direct conversions, I am afraid that whitelisting for
UploadOfflineConversion

service

is not possible as the test account does not serve Ads, wont have any
conversions data and it may result an error. Please let me know if you have
any further questions.

API Calls Clarification - What about API Limits?

2019-01-16 Thread Marco Frighetto
Hi there. My team and I are trying to figure out which is the answers for
the following questions:

   1. Is there a limit on the number / frequency of calls to the APIs for
   downloading data (Ads, Keywords, Reports, etc.) ?
   2. Is there a limit on the number of concurrent calls to the APIs for
   downloading data (Ads, Keywords, Reports, etc.) ?
   3. Regarding questions 1 and 2, would it make a difference if the API
   calls would come from more than one Google Account?
   4. We have experienced a limit on the frequency / number of calls to the
   APIs for pushing data to Google Ads.
   We get the exception 'RateExceededError', but we don't know what
   triggers it.
   5. Regarding question 4, would it make a difference if the API calls
   would come from more than one Google Account?

Any suggestions based on your experience? Thank for the support ;-)

Correct Usage of the ExtensionFeedItem Class

2019-01-16 Thread Peter A
Hi there,

I am currently in the process of updating a PHP script I use to manage my
AdWords Campaigns from v201802 to v201809.

I have however run in to slight issue due to changes to the FeedItem Class.

I currently have a function that looks as follows, built for v201802:

function getFeedItems(AdWordsServices $adWordsServices, AdWordsSession
$session, $adCustomizerFeed) {

$page_limit = 500;

// Get the AdCustomizerFeedService, which loads the required classes.
$feedItemService = $adWordsServices->get($session,
FeedItemService::class);

$feedId = $adCustomizerFeed->getFeedId();
$feedItems = array();

// Create selector.
$selector = new Selector();

$selector->setFields(array('FeedItemId','Status','AttributeValues','TargetingAdGroupId'));

// Create predicates.
$selector->setPredicates(array(
new Predicate('Status', 'EQUALS', array('ENABLED')),
new Predicate('FeedId', 'EQUALS', array($feedId))
));

// Create paging controls.
$selector->setPaging(new Paging(0, $page_limit));

$totalNumEntries = 0;
do {
// Make the get request.
$page = $feedItemService->get($selector);

// Display results.
if ($page->getEntries() !== null) {
$totalNumEntries = $page->getTotalNumEntries();

foreach ($page->getEntries() as $feedItem) {
$adGroupId =
(int)$feedItem->getAdGroupTargeting()->getTargetingAdGroupId();
$feedPrice = ($feedItem->getAttributeValues())[0]->getStringValue();
$feedShipping = ($feedItem->getAttributeValues())[1]->getStringValue();
$feedItemId = (int)$feedItem->getFeedItemId();

$feedItems[$adGroupId][0] = $feedItemId;
$feedItems[$adGroupId][1] = $feedPrice;
$feedItems[$adGroupId][2] = $feedShipping;
}
} else {
printLog(sprintf("No feed items were found.\n"));
}

// Advance the paging index.
$selector->getPaging()->setStartIndex(
$selector->getPaging()->getStartIndex() + $page_limit
);

} while ($selector->getPaging()->getStartIndex() < $totalNumEntries);
return $feedItems;
}

The issue is at the following line:

$adGroupId = (int)$feedItem->getAdGroupTargeting()->getTargetingAdGroupId();

As of v201809, the FeedItem class no longer has a 'getAdGroupTargeting'
method. Instead, the method has been moved to the ExtensionFeedItem Class.

I have not been able to find any documentation or sample usage of the
ExtensionFeedItem class and am unsure on how to modify the above function
so that I am still able to retrieve the AdGroup ID from a FeedItem.

Would anyone be willing to show me or point me in the right direction on
how I should modify the above function so that I can still get the AdGroup
ID from the FeedItem?

Thank you all in advance.

Hello Mohanty,

It looks like you are using the FeedFunction logic and the script is not
able to find this one. Please note that the IncomeOperand can no longer be
used as a FunctionArgumentOperand for LocationGroups. Mutate requests
adding new operands of this type will result in
FunctionError.Reason.INVALID_OPERAND_TYPE error. You may refer to this

RE: [7-5666000025312] Accessing Adwors API dashboard.

2019-01-16 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Pierre,

Firstly. could you confirm if you are using the same login credentials in
logging in your Google Cloud Project previously? If yes, you could remake a
new project in your dashboard by following this guide
 and
use the new credentials to access the AdWords API. Also, there is no way to
find the number of calls you make in the AdWords API. The Standard Access
account has nothing to do on why your API solution is not found in your
dashboard.

If I misunderstood your concern, could you further elaborate your main
issue and provide screenshots of the error messages you are encountering so
I could better assist you? You may use the *Reply privately to author*
option.

RE: Accessing Adwors API dashboard.

2019-01-16 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Pierre,

Firstly, could you confirm if you are using the same login credentials in
logging in your Google Cloud Project previously? If yes, you could remake a
new project in your dashboard by following this guide
 and
use the new credentials to access the AdWords API. Also, there is no way to
find the number of calls you make in the AdWords API. The Standard Access
account has nothing to do on why your API solution is not found in your
dashboard.

If I misunderstood your concern, could you further elaborate your main
issue and provide screenshots of the error messages you are encountering so
I could better assist you? You may use the *Reply privately to author*
 option.

RE: API Calls Clarification - What about API Limits?

2019-01-16 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Marco,

Kindly refer to below comments for your questions:

1 and 2. Yes, there are limits in terms of the number of requests and/or
operations metered such as of Requests Per Minute, Operations Per Minute,
and/or other types of rate limits such as operational limit
.
You may refer to this guide

for

the commonly seen rate limits. You may also refer to this rate sheet
 to determine how
operations are counted.

3. It depends on the rate scope, wherein it could be account scope or
developer scope. The developer token rate scope covers all transactions
made against your developerToken, regardless which account you used. The
account rate scope will only cover those requests done on a single Google
Ads account.

4. To understand what triggers the RateExceededError
,
you need to check on the rateScope and rateName properties of the error
itself. Kindly refer here

for

guide on how.

5. Same applies on question number 3. You may refer to this guide

to

understand it better.

Also, kindly refer to this guide

on

recommended ways to prevent such error.

Best regards,
Jaki

Hi there. My team and I are trying to figure out which is the answers for

Re: Updating Dynamic remarketing feeds

2019-01-16 Thread j . stahl
Hi Luis,

thanks for your quick reply.

I have a business data feed within Google Ads. I want to set up automatic
uploads with our current product data that removes products that have gone
out of stock and shouldn't be on sale anymore. Within the automatic uploads
(e.g. through a Google spreadsheet or automatic file upload from our
server), it is not possible to send the "Action" column to either remove
products from the feed completely or just update them.

I now want to set it up via the API so that we can remove out of stock
products from the feed automatically.

If you need any further clarification, please let me know.

Thanks for your help
