Re: Google Ads API: conversions count changes over time for past days

Hi Mike,

Thank you, I understand better now. You are correct that certain fields are
not available from particular reports; you can accomplish some limited joins if
the resource in your FROM clause has the joining resource as one of its
segments. An alternative is to run two queries and combine the returned data
in your application.

Since we don't currently support the exact functionality you're looking for, I
will file a feature request to address your use case. Please keep an eye on
Google Ads API announcements for updates.

Thanks,

Andrew, Google Ads API Team

Hi Afsane,

Please note that not all campaign types will allow you to adjust bids. Based on
your error, it looks like you are trying to mutate a criterion that isn't
mutable for your campaign type. Can you please provide complete logs of the

using the geographic_view you cannot have group by hour.
using the campaign_view you cannot have group by country.

So I cannot achieve what I described.

RE: Update Ads with Dynamic Values

2020-04-09 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Drew,

Thanks for reaching out.

Regarding Ad Customizers,

If a feed uses exclusively number attribute types, what would the median
approval time be for a feed update?

Feed items are approved separately; an Ad does not have to be reapproved.
Approvals typically complete within 1-2 business days.

Can a feed be modified using the Google AdWords API or any other API (such as
the Google Ads API beta)?

Yes, both APIs provide services for Ad Customizer feeds. See these reference
entries: AdWords, Google Ads API.

What is the most often a feed can be updated via an automated method?

There are no specific limitations to feed services via Ads APIs.

If the values within a feed are static (only ever integers from 0 to 60), can a
feed become “whitelisted” and skip the approval queue?

No, all Ads and related data must be approved before they can be served.

Regarding Ad Parameters:

Are Ad Parameters only available at the Keyword level? Can these be set at a
campaign or ad group level?

Ad Parameters are only available at the Keyword level. Per the AdParam
definition, to set an AdParam you must specify the AdGroup and Keyword IDs.

If these are only able to be applied on a Keyword level I feel like we would be
making 1000's of API calls every few minutes, this doesn't seem intended?

Large numbers of operations are not unusual for the Ads platform. Consider
utilizing the Batch Job Service to perform many operations more efficiently.
Note that your developer token Access Level may have some limitations as to the
number of operations that you can perform.
Since it appears that your headlines may involve time, you might want to
consider using the Countdown customizer.

Is there any example PHP API code calling/echoing the param1 & param2 values
for a keyword (or campaign/ad group if that’s possible)?

The closest example is SetAdParameters; the AdParamService's get method will
return information regarding existing AdParam values.

Can you test Ad Parameters using a developer account and see the result in the
web UI, or would you have to test these on a live Ad.

Assigned parameters will only be visible on live Ads.

Please let us know of any other questions that you may have.

Thanks,

Andrew, Google Ads API Team

RE: Want to get data using API, but Google Ads API webpage is not accessible now

2020-04-09 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Seungjoon,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I see that you have three concerns. Below you
will find my responses.
1. Can I get (campaign, ad group, creative, cost, install, ...) data using Ads
API or Adwords API?
You can use both Ads API and AdWords API to get these data fields by using
their corresponding reports.
2. When will Google Ads API will be available? I want to use Ads API rather
than Adwords API. because it will be replaced (maybe deprecated later?).
You currently can use Google Ads API Beta. We recommend to continue running
production systems using the AdWords API. While Google Ads API is in “beta”,
you may use the new API for testing and development work in preparation for
future migration. Please keep in mind that during this "beta" phase, there may
be breaking changes in the Google Ads API.
3. Or is there other option to get those data? Or maybe Adwords API is enough
to get those data?
AdWords API can be used to obtain the data fields you've mentioned above. You
can also use Google Ads API if you would like.

4. The webpage is not accessible right now.
I tried accessing this page for Google Ads API and haven't encountered an
issue. What error do you encounter with accessing this page? Could you try
opening the link in a new Chrome Incognito window?

Let me know if you have further questions.

RE: Migrating to Google Ads missing report types

2020-04-09 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi David,

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately it looks like Call Metrics Call
Details Report is not currently available in Google Ads API Beta. For Criteria
Performance Report, while there does not look like there is a report for this
in Google Ads API, you can use the AdGroupCriterionService to get a list of
criteria on the Adgroup level. For these fields, I have made a request for
these features to be added. Please follow our blog for updates on if and when
this report will be available in Google Ads API. Let me know if you have
further questions.

Thank you,

Keywords don't show in the Keywords Performance Report

2020-04-09 Thread Bastiaan Bijl
Hi all,

I am trying to write an AWQL script to parse data from the Keyword
Performance Report to Google Sheets for offline analysis.

I have generated an AWQL query to do this with the handy generator from
ScriptNinja .

However, the data I get back does not include the actual Keyword itself for
some reason, and I cannot add it. How do I get the actual Keyword with the
rest of the metrics combined from the report?

The query I am using is:

// Select Query
var query = 'SELECT Id, CampaignName, AdGroupName, AverageCpc, Ctr, Clicks,
Conversions, Impressions, InteractionRate, PostClickQualityScore,
QualityScore, HistoricalQualityScore ' +
'FROM KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT ' +
'WHERE CampaignStatus = ENABLED ' +
'AND CampaignName CONTAINS \'General\' ' +
'DURING LAST_30_DAYS '

If I put 'Keyword' in the SELECT clause, I get an error.

I'm a bot lost here so I hope someone can help out.

Thanks!

Bas

Yes, the user's access levels should be the same in both the UI and the API. If

HI,

You are correct that negative keywords are not a supported customer criterion
and using a shared set is a good alternative. You can call the SharedSetService
and query the SharedSet type or call the shared_set report and get the type.

set devices while doing mutate campaignCriterion operation

2020-04-09 Thread Afsane Ghafoori
Hi there,

I want to set devices for the campaign while create and I am using the
mutate operation. based on documentation at campaignCriterion operation I
should be able to set Device criterion,

https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/google.ads.googleads.v2.resources#google.ads.googleads.v2.resources.CampaignCriterion

but when I tried that I got this error:

This operator cannot be applied to a criterion of this type

I read other posts and based on this link, it was mentioned in order to
exclude a device, we need to set the bid_modifier to 0 for those criterion
ids

given the fact that criterion id can not set in mutate operation, Could you
please guide me on how to set bid_modifier to 0 for devices I want to
exclude while creating the campaign?

Want to get data using API, but Google Ads API webpage is not accessible now

2020-04-09 Thread Seungjoon Lee
We are using Google Ads for user acquisitions, and we want to get
(campaign, ad group, creative, impressions, cost, install, ) data using
API.

Then I saw that 'Google Adwords API' will be replaced by 'Google Ads API'.
But Google Ads API document webpage is not accessible now!
https://developers.google.com/ad-manager/api/start and
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/start are both not
accessible.

1. Can I get (campaign, ad group, creative, cost, install, ...) data using
Ads API or Adwords API?
2. When will Google Ads API will be available? I want to use Ads API rather
than Adwords API. because it will be replaced (maybe deprecated later?).
3. Or is there other option to get those data? Or maybe Adwords API is
enough to get those data?

Thank you
Seungjoon

Hi Andrew,

thank you for the detailed explanation. This creates the problem that we
cannot get afterwards (when data are "finalized") the following:

   - conversions count per campaign, ad group, country, device,
   conversion_action, day and hour
   - impressions count, clicks count and cost_micros per campaign, ad
group, country, device, day and hour

by the Google Ads API available reports.

Thanks for getting back to be quickly. Absolutely, we are currently
fetching for example the "CallDuration" attribute from the "Call Metrics
Call Details Report"
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/call-metrics-call-details-report#callduration
And also the "Criteria" attribute from the "Critera Performance Report"
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/criteria-performance-report#criteria
.

Thanks!

Missing field "EffectiveFinalUrl" in Google Ads API

2020-04-09 Thread hiromi hishida
Hi,

I'm doing migration work from AdWords API to Google Ads API.
I found a field missing in the migration map for report fields:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/migration/reports

Is it simply deprecated/removed? Or is it migrated to another field?

Here is the field:
EffectiveFinalUrl in FINAL_URL_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

regards,

Hiromi
