Re: is google ads api down?

2023-06-07 Thread Sinu Joseph
Hi,
I was able to resolve the issue.
Since i got a new developer token, i couldnt use the old clientId and
Secret. Neither i could use a newly created Oauth client Id.
I had to create a new project on google cloud, create a new credential and
then use the new clientId and secret to use with the new developer token.

Regards
Sinu

Re: how to reproduce this ui report with the api?

2023-06-07 Thread Oliver
Hi Chad, I'm not from the API team but can contribute. The answer to your 2
questions is 'No'. The API does not give any historical meta data about
statuses. The only way to achieve what you want is exactly what you
described in your last message.

RE: how to convert google time zones

2023-06-07 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Forum.

Yes, Google Ads API pulls the account timezone. You may see if below sample
code which will first get the current time in the Asia/Shanghai timezone using
the SimpleDateFormat class. Then, it will set the timezone of the
SimpleDateFormat object to the Africa/Cairo timezone. Finally, it will parse
the time in the Asia/Shanghai timezone to get the time in the Africa/Cairo
timezone.

@SneakyThrows

public static String timeZoneTransferShanghai(String time, String
nowTimeZone,String targetTimeZone) {

if(StringUtils.isBlank(time)){

return "";

 }

TimeZone shanghaiTimeZone = TimeZone.getTimeZone("Asia/Shanghai");

TimeZone cairoTimeZone = TimeZone.getTimeZone("Africa/Cairo");

SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("-MM-dd HH:mm:ss");

sdf.setTimeZone(shanghaiTimeZone);

Date shanghaiTime = new Date();

String shanghaiTimeStr = sdf.format(shanghaiTime);

sdf.setTimeZone(cairoTimeZone);

Date cairoTime = sdf.parse(shanghaiTimeStr);

String cairoTimeStr = sdf.format(cairoTime);

System.out.println("The time in Asia/Shanghai is " + shanghaiTimeStr);

System.out.println("The time in Africa/Cairo is " + cairoTimeStr);

return cairoTimeStr;

}

You may note that Google Ads API pulls the data shown on Ads UI, and converting
from one timezone to another is a custom implementations. If you need further
assistance, then you may seek through other public forums like Stackoverflow.

RE: google ads api question: inconsistent data at adgroup.ad level and adgroup level

2023-06-07 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Forum.

I can see that you are comparing the cost metrics data pulled from
geographic_view report and ad_group_ad report. However, note that these 2
resources / tables are indeed different reports which means that ad_group_ad
report will pull the cost metrics at ad level, whereas geographic_view report
will pull the cost metrics for the geo related data.

You may note that the Google Ads API pulls the cost metrics whatever is showing
on the Ads UI. and Google Ads API should pull exact and correct cost metrics
shown on Ads UI. You may let us know if you are seeing any discrepancies in API
vs UI results.

Feel free to reach back if you have further questions.

Hi Everyone

Im trying to test the Google Ads API but everytime that i try to get info
from the "googleAds:search" or "googleAds:searchStream" i get the error
"DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED"

I read that this error is becuase im trying to access an account that is
not a test account with Management Test Account

So Im not sure what im doing wrong becuase i follow the instructions that
says that every account created under my Management Test Account will be a
Test Account but looks like that is not happening

Hope any of you can point me in the right direction to solve this issue

Better Understand Relationships Between Status Types (Campaign, AdGroup, AdGroupAd levels)

2023-06-07 Thread Chad Wood
 Hello,

Referencing:
ad_group_ad.policy_summary.approval_status

ad_group_ad.policy_summary.review_status

ad_group_ad.status

ad_group.status

campaign.primary_status

campaign.serving_status

campaign.status

Each of these are categorical properties of the object (campaign, adgroup,
ad). By my understanding, an ad will only serve to ad-viewers if each
status is aligned such as:
APPROVED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.approval_status
REVIEWED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.review_status
ENABLED: ad_group_ad.status

I noticed some other relationships between these statuses though, and I'd
like to better understand.

1. Whats the difference between the following two scenarios:
..a: APPROVED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.approval_status
..REVIEWED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.review_status

..b: APPROVED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.approval_status
..ELIGIBLE_MAY_SERVE: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.review_status

2. How is it possible for a Campaign to be serving in these circumstances?
..a: REMOVED: campaign.status
..REMOVED: campaign.primary_status
..SERVING: campaign.serving_status

..b: PAUSED: campaign.status
..PAUSED: campaign.primary_status
..SERVING: campaign.serving_status

..c: ENABLED: campaign.status
..NOT_ELIGIBLE: campaign.primary_status
..SERVING: campaign.serving_status

3. Each of those status types contain the possible values "UNKNOWN" and
"UNSPECIFIED". Under what circumstances are those used for each status type?

4. Are there any web documents I can source for more information on the
meanings of different combinations within the status types, and how they
impact the fact of whether ad-viewers are being served the ad or not?

Better Understand The Campaign / AdGroup / AdGroupAd Status Relationships

2023-06-07 Thread Chad Wood
Hello,

Referencing:
ad_group_ad.policy_summary.approval_status

ad_group_ad.policy_summary.review_status

ad_group_ad.status

ad_group.status

campaign.primary_status

campaign.serving_status

campaign.status

Each of these are categorical properties of the object (campaign, adgroup,
ad). By my understanding, an ad will only serve to ad-viewers if each
status is aligned such as:
APPROVED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.approval_status
REVIEWED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.review_status
ENABLED: ad_group_ad.status

I noticed some other relationships between these statuses though, and I'd

..REVIEWED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.review_status

..b: APPROVED: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.approval_status
..ELIGIBLE_MAY_SERVE: ad_group_ad.policy_summary.review_status

2. How is it possible for a Campaign to be serving in these circumstances?
..a: REMOVED: campaign.status
..REMOVED: campaign.primary_status
..SERVING: campaign.status

..b: PAUSED: campaign.status
..PAUSED: campaign.primary_status
..SERVING: campaign.status

..c: ENABLED: campaign.status
..NOT_ELIGIBLE: campaign.primary_status
..SERVING: campaign.status

3. Each of those status types contain the possible values "UNKNOWN" and

The documented examples Google Ads API Forum Advisor linked in that post /
documentation are not functional. They also return null values.

Several of us have had this code in production, are not using the two
deprecated calls, and are adhering to Google's documentation but we have
been unable to get an acknowledgement / response from Google about it

Re: how to reproduce this ui report with the api?

2023-06-07 Thread Chad Wood
I guess I can give my use case.

We have tens of thousands of ads on your platform. Recently, several
hundred were taken offline.
I want to do an analysis into these, but I can't find an elegant way to
isolate them programmatically.

I guess one way would be to query for the number of impressions every ad
got on every single day we've had an account in Google Ads, then I can
filter those down to only records where impressions is greater than 1, and
finally use the existence of a record as evidence that the ad was active on
any given day in the datasets index.

That's a very heavy process though. I'll be working with tens of millions
of rows of data (a row per ad per day).

2023-06-07 Thread Chad Wood
Hi, I dont have a screenshot of the data in the UI. I'm just wondering if
it's possible to utilize any metric / dimension for the purpose. Right now,
I don't see any way to differentiate between ads that haven't been served
in 10 years versus ads there were served 2 days ago.

I checked, and it looks like the answer is no.

Google ads api PMAX campaign errors

2023-06-07 Thread Meri Sahakyan
Hi, I'm trying to create google PMAX campaign using .NET library.
I created campaign and separate assets successfully.
Now when I'm trying to connect assets with campaign using AssetGroup, it
returns me failure with errors "NOT_ENOUGH_HEADLINE_ASSET",
"NOT_ENOUGH_DESCRIPTION_ASSET",
"NOT_ENOUGH_BUSINESS_NAME_ASSET",
"NOT_ENOUGH_MARKETING_IMAGE_ASSET",
"NOT_ENOUGH_SQUARE_MARKETING_IMAGE_ASSET",
"NOT_ENOUGH_LOGO_ASSET", in case I already have created this type of assets
before AdGroup creation.

 I found some solution provided by you to link assets directly to campaign
before AssetGroup creation. In this case I got another errors like "The
given field type is not supported to be added directly through asset links."
for headline, long headline, image , business name and all other REQUIRED
asset types.

Can you help me to find out how can I connect assets to campaigns or create
asset group using API's?
