v201003 ReportDefinitionService - Cross-client reports are not supported?

2010-05-26 Thread Christian Krahn
I've read in the documentation that Cross-client reports are not
supported.
Is it just because it's still beta or won't there be any chance to
grab a report covering all accounts underneath an MCC?

Kind regards,

AdWords API Re: ADWORDS API RATE SHEET -- validate only apicall

2010-04-14 Thread Christian Krahn
Hello Sai,

each campaign mutate operation will cost 0.05, so if you have 10
operations, it would be 0.5 quota units, rounded to 1 quota unit.

If you get an error from the API the cost depends on the type of
error:
If the cause of error is on your side (e.g. policy violation or
missing required fields), then you will be charged the quota.
If it's a server error on google's side, you won't get charged.

Hi Eric,

I am using the latest version since it has been released and it worked
fine, till today when the XML Validation got activated.
So sorry to tell you, but... no, it doesnt include a fix for it.

Using PHP Version 5.2.6-3ubuntu4.5 (Ubuntu 9.04)

Update: it seems to work on a co-worker's local machine who is using
Ubuntu 9.10 (should be PHP 5.2.10, will verify soon).

AdWords API Re: AFTER_MAXIMUM_ALLOWABLE_DATE Error

2010-02-19 Thread Christian Krahn
When setting no enddate it is automatically set to 20371231. If you
try to update with that date again, then you get an error because of
the maximum allowed date is surprisingly less than that date. In order
to fix it you have to check if its the maximum date and set it to null
on your side. Only solution I got for this issue so far, even after
consulting some Google AdWords tech guys.

Ads will not get created if they violate any of the Google policies,
e.g. there are brands in the text which are blocked by Google.

But the API should give you an error message including that message.

AdWords can overspent up to 20% of your budget. After that it should

Is your monthly budget on the account level or do you have a daily

Do you use budget optimizer? Or budget Manager?

AdWords API Re: Defined Report Column Definitions

2008-10-06 Thread Christian Krahn

Hi Derek,

all definitions are found here:
http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/developer/adwords_api_reports.html

Just follow the link to the right report and there is a list of all
the fields you have to provide and the fields you get in return.

Unfortunately there is no list of field types. Just remember that id's
should be large integer fields (BIGINT 20 at least). Personally i use
varchar fields mostly, sometimes unsigned integer fields for values
like clicks and impressions.

Looks good, dunno about using floats for most of the cases, it made
some problems when i used it, so i made those fields strings as well.
But could work with floats (and you wouldnt need to convert to the
right data type).

Christian

AdWords API Re: Is there any limit on number of Campaigns under on client account?

2008-10-06 Thread Christian Krahn

Hi,

the limit on campaigns is 25 per account. Each campaign can hold up to
100 adgroups.

Christian

AdWords API Re: Java API to create Account?

2008-10-06 Thread Christian Krahn

Hi all,

thats right, creating an account will link it to the MCC you are
using, since you use the MCC's credentials to access the AdWords API.

Christian

AdWords API Re: How to implement AdWords API Using SOAP and Classic ASP

2008-10-06 Thread Christian Krahn

Hi,

that's because its not called AddCreative but AddAds:

http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/developer/AdService.html

You can create all types of creatives (textads, LBA's, etc.) with this
method.

What programming language do you use, maybe i can fix up an example
for you :)

Christian

AdWords API Re: How to implement AdWords API Using SOAP and Classic ASP

2008-10-05 Thread Christian Krahn

Hi,

first of all you should read the official documentation on the API:
http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/developer/
There are descriptions of all functions regarding the AdWords API, as
well as a bunch of code examples (http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/
docs/samples.html).

Regards,
Christian

AdWords API Re: How do I get all the Account for given customerId?

2008-10-02 Thread Christian Krahn

That way you can get all the accounts in that MCC. That doesnt mean
that those accounts belong to one customer (unless you have one MCC
for each of your customers to handle each customer's accounts). So you
still would need some sort of identifier for each customer inside the
MCC.

One possible way would be if you use the account descriptiveName as
field for your own customer id. But then you would have to load each
account and check the value of the descriptiveName field to find out
if its the one.

Christian
