API Basic Access Token - No Respones or Information

2024-03-28 Thread John Joe Smith
Hello,

I've submitted two applications for Basic Access to the Ads API with no
response a month ago and two weeks ago. This is my second thread in this
group requesting some help since the first had no responses.

Can you please help escalate the case as this is a critical need for our
product/client services.

   - Google Ads Manager Account (MCC) ID: 110-252-8093
   - Access level (current): Test
   - Access level (requested): Basic
   - Cases ID: None provided

Also, yes I have reached out to the Google Ads API support team, many
times. Again no response.

Please help us and tell us what we have to do to get our certification for
basic access ASAP!

-John Joe

Hi Niko,
After requesting basic access following these instructions
<https://support.google.com/adspolicy/contact/new_token_application> I did
not receive an email. Instead I posted in the Google Ads API Google Group
asking for an update and received this reply. No one ever replied to this
email either.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thanks,

No response on Basic API access request after 2 weeks

2023-12-21 Thread John Moses
Hello,
I have requested basic API access for MCC ID on 12/7/2023: 587-123-3291

On 12/14/2023, I submitted a request to review my application through the
Google Ads contact form.

I have not received a case number or any correspondence. My email address
domain is the domain for which I have requested access for our
application.

We will be using the API to upload conversions.

Is there any way to get an ETA on when the Google Ads Compliance team will
review or make sure my application is complete?

Has anyone else received an update on their Basic API access application?
I see a bunch of posts but no indication that there is a resolution.

Thanks.
John

Request for Assistance: Seeking Clarification on Placements Data

2023-10-18 Thread Cantare John
I want to have more information about Placements such as status, parent
status, etc. I am using this request to get all placements:

{
"pageSize": 1,
"query": "SELECT detail_placement_view.display_name,
detail_placement_view.group_placement_target_url,
detail_placement_view.placement, detail_placement_view.placement_type,
detail_placement_view.resource_name, detail_placement_view.target_url FROM
detail_placement_view"
}

But the status is not there as a field. I tried to search in
campaign_criterion or ad_group_criterion by setting the type to Placements,
but I couldn't find an id that links Placements from the first query with
the response coming from the second query.

Audience Segments targeting for Display ads

2023-09-27 Thread Nathaniel David John
I'm using the PHP library to create google display ads.
I've done demographic targeting, such as Gender, Age Range and Parental
Status.
But there is no example code that allows one to do Targeting for Audience
Segments.
Please, kindly assist in pointing me to this documentation if it exist or
assist with an example code in php.

I am trying to attach some criterion to my campaign *20425685181* .
I managed to add several criterions `*LOCATION*`/ `*LANGUAGE*`/`*DEVICE*`

However, it got errors when I try to attach '*USER_INTEREST*' and 'GENDER'

Please check this *two* error responses from REST API.

Google Ads REST Interfaces struggle us so much.

2023-08-11 Thread zhang john
Hi There,
We're developing one Ads application based on Google Ads API.
Due to some technical reasons, it's difficult for us to use the Google Ads
Client Library,
so we had to implement it by using the Google Ads REST interface.

Currently,we managed to mutate and search Campaign/Budget/AdGroup/Account
via its REST Interface.
However, there are still some big questions struggling us.

1.Which fields are basic and required to create a common and simple Ads?
2.Which endpoint is provided to set the specific
Audience-Dimension(Age/Gender/Area/Interest etc).

Great appreciate if someone could help us on them.

Best regards,
John

GoogleAds API Limit

2023-03-02 Thread Cantare John

Hello,

I'm developing an application that uses the Google Ads API, and I'm
encountering a 429 error code when I exceed the API limits and quotas. I
would like to better understand how these limits are calculated and whether
they apply at the application level or the user level.

Thank you for your assistance

Re: Difference between conversions reported in Overview, Tools and Settings and API.

2023-01-26 Thread john wedderburn
Hi there,

Thanks for the speedy answer. Much appreciated.

Images attached, same date range, same account.

Overview (set to purchases/sales):
[image: Overview.png]

Tools and settings > conversions

[image: conversions.png]

Could this be an attribution issue?

With regard to my 2nd question, I've observed that when I import data via
Stitch I get a 100% match with the overview reporting from the Ads front
end. When I use BigQuery data connector I do not. Could this be because the
Stitch data requires me to enter an attribution window, with the default as
30 days. When I leave it to default it matches, which makes me think that
the difference is in attribution and that I need to code an attribution
window in the data from BigQuery.

thanks,
John.

Difference between conversions reported in Overview, Tools and Settings and API.

2023-01-26 Thread john wedderburn
Hi all.

I'm using the BigQuery data transfer to pull Google Search Ads data. I'm
then using SQL to create reporting tables which includes conversion data.

My challenge is that I cannot get a match to the conversions number,
reported for the same account and date range, shown in the Overview of the
Google Search Ads front end.
It's not completely off, but I expectation is that I should be able to get
an exact match. I note that I am much closer to the figure reported in the
tools and settings > conversions report.

In the API I got almost a perfect match after I selected only conversions
from Interactions rather than Impressions.

On a daily level I get a perfect match on some days, whereas other days
fail. I suspected that this might be something to do with cross device
tracking, but could not see any relationship there.

So, questions:

1. What is the reason for the difference in conversions number between the
front end Overview report and the tools and settings > conversions report?
Is this an attribution issue?

2. Has anyone got any ideas on the filters or otherwise code I should be
using to get a match between the API output and the overview data?

When I run it through Supermetrics I get a match between the conversions
data and the overview - so I figure the answer must be in how the
conversion metric needs to be filtered from the API to recreate whatever
default the overview has.

Many thanks in advance!

Creating Shopping Ad fails - Google Ad Script API

2022-11-28 Thread John Pelelis
Hello there,

I am trying to create a shopping ad through google ads script interface,
but while following exact instructions from documentation
<https://developers.google.com/google-ads/scripts/docs/examples/shopping#create-product-ads>
 it
always fail.

*The error I get are the following *(see end of message for full error
message
- In Preview mode: "mutateError":"RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND" *[1]*
- In Run mode: IMMUTABLE_FIELD *[2]*

*The code I use*

*[image: newAdBuilder.png]*

*Why I believe it is an API issue*
I have checked the following that justifies that my code is correct:
- The "Changes" tab shows that both the campaign and Ad group are found (so
I am not calling something that doesn't exist)
[image: changes-tab.png]
- If I create the ad through Google Ads UI, it is created succesfully
- I have tested the ad creation even after 12h, but still can't make the ad
creation

Any ideas on how to tackle this? Is this an API issue or am I doing
something wrong here?

Thank you,
John

Products - Active In

2022-08-04 Thread John
Hi,

In the Google Ads web interface there is a Products report in the left hand
menu. In the Products sub menu the report has a column called "Active in"
which shows how many campaigns the product is active in.

Please can you tell me where I can get this metric from using the API?

Thanks,

Re: Timezone and click_view reports

2022-07-07 Thread John Heathco
Thank you - is this based upon the manager's account? In this case, I
could simply create a manager account with the proper timezone settings?
Or is this based upon the client account's timezone setting, in which case
if I wanted to switch timezones I would need to create an entirely new
Adwords account and campaigns?

Timezone and click_view reports

2022-07-07 Thread John Heathco
Hi,

I'm trying to get the GCLIDs for a given day in UTC. More specifically, I
want the period to be 00:00 UTC to 23:59:59 UTC.

Does the API use UTC by default, or will it return results for the
account's timezone preference? If the latter, is there anyway to override
this or to get the exact time of a click?

We need to make sure the click took place on a specific day in UTC.

Thanks

Re: Performance Max Campaign Simulation

2022-05-18 Thread John
I tried that but it seems to only returns Search campaigns. I was asking
for advice on how to pull the budget simulation for performance max
campaigns.

Please can you give me specific advice rather than asking me to try
something? If you don't know then just say so.

Cheers.

OK thanks for this.

Please can you advise how it's possible to retrieve budget simulation data
from the api? What I need is the information that is available in the UI on
the attached screenshot.

Cheers.

Performance Max Campaign Simulation

2022-05-12 Thread John
Quick question,

Is it possible to use campaign_simulation or bidding_strategy_simulation
with performance max campaigns? I can't get the api to return anything and
just wondering if it's because my campaigns are performance max.

Cheers.

Create/Update Feed Fails with "Request contains an invalid argument" error

2022-05-05 Thread John Miner
We are in the process of migrating the .NET Nuget package for
"Google.Ads.GoogleAds" from version "9.0.0" to version "11.0.1", and we use
C#.

After doing so, we are now making a call like the following in order to
update a Feed:

using Google.Ads.GoogleAds;
using Google.Ads.GoogleAds.Lib;
using Google.Ads.GoogleAds.Util;
using Google.Ads.GoogleAds.V10.Services;

// We load the Google.Ads.GoogleAds.V10.Resources.Feed into the "feed"
variable here.
var operation = new FeedOperation() {
Update = feed,
UpdateMask = FieldMasks.AllSetFieldsOf(feed)
};
var googleAdsConfig = apiContext.GetAdsApiAppConfig();
var googleAdsClient = new GoogleAdsClient(googleAdsConfig);
FeedServiceClient serviceClient =
googleAdsClient.GetService(Services.V10.FeedService);
long customerId = 0; // We are storing this customer ID on our end when we
create the Feed, so the 0 here is just a placeholder.
MutateFeedsResponse response = await
serviceClient.MutateFeedsAsync(customerId.ToString(), new
List() { operation }, cancellationToken);

Upon running the MutateFeedsAsync method, we immediately get back the
following error:

{"Status(StatusCode=\"InvalidArgument\", Detail=\"Request contains an
invalid argument.\",
DebugException=\"Grpc.Core.Internal.CoreErrorDetailException:
{\"created\":\"@1651768123.01600\",\"description\":\"Error received
from peer
ipv4:172.***.**.**:443\",\"file\":\"..\\..\\..\\src\\core\\lib\\surface\\call.cc\",\"file_line\":1070,\"grpc_message\":\"Request

contains an invalid argument.\",\"grpc_status\":3}\")"}

What is going on here? Updating feeds worked just fine previously, so what
are we missing with v11.0.1 that is keeping us from updating Feeds?

Re: Google Ads: How to set marketing objective (like website traffic) of a campaign?

2022-05-05 Thread John Smith
Hello,

Thank you for clarification, I understand why this is not in API.
Our goal is to create campaigns via API exactly as its done manually,
everything supported by API is working but I am trying to understated if
there is anything different in campaign if marketing objective "website
traffic" is selected - and in this case we need to set some values from API.

DMC are not setting anything special but objective manually but the concern
is that setting marketing objective triggers creating campaigns with
different defaults so campaign we create from API will not be the same one
created manually.
Any way to check (doc) what marketing objective "website traffic" is
exactly doing and if it affects any default values?

Thanks

Campaign object missing from CAMPAIGN_BUDGET recommendation type

2022-04-26 Thread John Kronström
Hi,

I'm trying to get recommendations using Google Ads API, but campaign
details seems to be missing, even for campaign budget recommendations. Why
is that?

I'm using the Opteo google-ads-api npm libary.

Request:
const data = await customer.report({
  entity: 'recommendation',

'customer.id',
'customer.descriptive_name',
'campaign.id',
'recommendation.campaign',

'ad_group.name',
'ad_group.status',
'recommendation.impact',
'recommendation.type',
'recommendation.dismissed',
'recommendation.impact',
'recommendation.resource_name'
  ]
})

Response:
[
{
"customer": {
"id": 123124124,
"descriptive_name": "Customer name works",
"resource_name": "customers/123124124"

Re: Google Ads failure details: authorization_error: The customer can't be used because it isn't enabled.

2022-04-02 Thread John Lee
I believe I solved this by adding an additional filter to the Customer
Client query.
This filter removed non active or test accounts, which I am guessing caused
the customer isn't enabled error.

Original Query:
$query = 'SELECT customer_client.client_customer, customer_client.level,'
. ' customer_client.manager, customer_client.descriptive_name,'
. ' customer_client.currency_code, customer_client.time_zone,'
. " customer_client.id FROM customer_client WHERE customer_client.level <=
1";

New Query

$query = 'SELECT customer_client.client_customer, customer_client.level,'
. ' customer_client.manager, customer_client.descriptive_name,'
. ' customer_client.currency_code, customer_client.time_zone,'
. " customer_client.id FROM customer_client WHERE customer_client.level <=
1 and customer_client.test_account != TRUE and customer_client.status =
'ENABLED'";

Google Ads failure details: authorization_error: The customer can't be used because it isn't enabled.

2022-04-02 Thread John Lee
I am currently trying to get all the child accounts for a manager account.
Request ID: mCqXs9CAU-CwEzP7x8tFMg

Error: Google Ads failure details: authorization_error: The customer can't
be used because it isn't enabled.

I am using the php library and following the guide to get account
hierarchies here:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/account-management/get-account-hierarchy

I am passing the loginCustomerId
$googleAdsClient = (new
GoogleAdsClientBuilder())->fromFile('../../Dashboard/php/google-ads-php/google_ads_php.ini')
->withOAuth2Credential($oAuth2Credential)
->withLoginCustomerId($loginCustomerId ?? $rootCustomerId)
->build();

I am using a basic access developer token and the manager account is active
and not a testing account.

Any help would be appreciated, let me know if you need more information.

Thank you.

Returned ENUM values with PHP api

2022-01-14 Thread John
Could someone please advise on how I can retrieve the text value of
returned ENUM data types rather than their integer value?

For Advertising Channel Type
(
$stream->iterateAllElements()->current()->getCampaign()->getAdvertisingChannelType()

) the adwords api returned values such as
Unknown
Search
Display
Shopping
Video
Multi Channel
Express

but only integer values are being returned in the google ads api which
isn't useful.

Is there a function in the PHP api where i can lookup the integer to return
the text value?

Thanks,

Re: shopping_performance_view getSegments()

2022-01-13 Thread John
Thanks for the response.

I figured out where I was going wrong.

The first row returned didn't have an item id so there were no segments
available. I incorrectly assumed that this would be the case for all
returned rows but as it turns out every other row does allow me to extract
the segments and retrieve the item id.

I'm not sure how a shopping click isn't being associated with a product id
but never mind. Now that i know, I can work around it.

Cheers.

shopping_performance_view getSegments()

2022-01-12 Thread John
Hi,

I'm trying to get the shopping_performance_view report to return the same
data that I used to get with the SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT in the old API
but I'm not able to have getSegments() return anything for extracting the
product_item_id

I'm passing the following query

SELECT campaign.id, metrics.clicks, metrics.cost_micros,
segments.product_item_id, metrics.conversions, metrics.impressions,
metrics.search_impression_share, metrics.conversions_value FROM
shopping_performance_view WHERE segments.date BETWEEN '20211212' AND
'20220111'

In this example $segments return null whereas $metrics returns all the
methods I need to extract data from it.

foreach ($stream->iterateAllElements() as $googleAdsRow) {
$metrics = $googleAdsRow->getMetrics();
$segments = $googleAdsRow->getSegments();
}

I assume I'm missing something obvious. Can someone please point me in the
right direction so that I can get the product_item_id along with all the
associated metrics?

Thanks,

Hello! Please tell me, is it possible to get such metrics as "impr. (top)

Hello John,

Thank you for getting back to us. I work with Peter and I'll be assisting you
with this.

Please see our responses to your questions below:
1. If we want to move to GoogleAds API to manage the MCC account can we
use the same dev token? Yes, you can still use the same developer token.
2. Does this migration need a GCP project to be created? If it is needed
can this be separate from our other existing GCP projects? A GCP project is
needed for this. You can refer to this
guide<https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/first-call/oauth-cloud-project?hl=en>
 for more details. In addition to that, you can reuse your existing GCP
project. You would then need to Enable the Google Ads API in your
project<https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/first-call/oauth-cloud-project?hl=en#enable_the_in_your_project>.
As an aside, we suggest that you read this migration

Re: Google Adwords to Google Ads API Migration

2021-07-14 Thread 'John Franklin' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Peter!

We have google adwords MCC account as well as GCP projects for data
analytics.
I am confused how our MCC account and the GCP projects are linked.

We have the MCC account which we manage via AdwordsAPI. It has a developer
token.
If we want to move to GoogleAds API to manage the MCC account can we use
the same dev token? Does this migration need a GCP project to be created?
If it is needed can this be separate from our other existing GCP projects?

regards,
johnf

Pete,

Thanks for the reply. Our last error appeared at 10:58pm CT, and I've been
keeping an eye on it all day, but haven't seen any more. Looks like it
resolved itself. Mostly wanted to make sure it wasn't something wrong on
our end, and looks like it wasn't. Thanks for helping confirm this!

How to List Accessible Customers

2021-01-26 Thread John Smith
I have a user signing google login and this produces AccessToken and a
RefreshToken.

Currently the user enters his AdWords account id and together
with AccessToken and RefreshToken, api calls are being made.

I need to changes this so that the user does not enter his AdWords account
id, instead I expect to call ListAccessibleCustomers() using only the
AccessToken and a RefreshToken and obtain the user's AdWords account id
from the API response.

My problem is that I cant understand how to construct GoogleAdsClient()
object so that I can instantiate it with the given AccessToken and a
RefreshToken?

CustomerServiceClient customerService =  new
GoogleAdsClient().GetService(Services.V5.CustomerService);

var customerResourceNames = customerService.ListAccessibleCustomers();

Security alert email every time I log in to my app

2021-01-05 Thread john p
Hi, looking for advice on this issue.

I have created a .NET app which uses OAuth and the Google Ads scope.

Every time I log in, I am sent an email with subject "Security Alert' and
body " was granted access to your Google Account. If you did
not grant access, you should check this activity and secure your account."

I then click on Check Activity and then verify it was me.

Still the next time I log in the email is sent again.

Is there a way to stop this happening, something I need to do / not do in
my set up?

Thanks
John

Thanks Peter

I've managed to get the email address by decoding the IDToken property of
the UserCredential as a JwtSecurityToken. This contains the email address
as a claim.

Getting User ID of authenticated user.

2021-01-03 Thread john p
Using Google Ads API v6 GoogleAdsService.Search in .NET:

I can retrieve a list of users (CustomerUserAccess resource) with access to
the given account. The list includes email address, Google Ads user id and
access role for each row.

select customer_user_access.user_id, customer_user_access.email_address,
customer_user_access.access_role from customer_user_access

I'm aiming to filter these results in the query to the row for the current
OAuth authenticated user e.g:

select customer_user_access.user_id, customer_user_access.email_address,
customer_user_access.access_role from customer_user_access where
customer_user_access.user_id = ''.

Is there a way to retrieve the ads user id and / or email of the logged in
user? The UserCredential object has null for the UserId property.

Thanks

The Boomi Google Ad Manager connector you are attempting to use will NOT
allow you to access data from the Google Ads/AdWords APIs.

Google Ads Scripts - Link Checker [Single]

2020-04-15 Thread John Santos
Hi,

My name is John and I have a question regarding the Link Checker Script. Is
it possible to have 2 or more recipients via email if issues are found? If
yes, what is the format we should follow to separate between email
addresses? I've attached the snippet I am referring to. Many thanks!

Google Ads API - Dynamic Search Ads Dynamic Ad Target Tracking Template

2020-03-31 Thread 'John N.' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello,

Is there any way within Google Ads API to pull the tracking templates for
the Dynamic Ad Targets? We currently use tracking templates to append
parameters we use internally to map activity. In the old Adwords API we
were able to pull in the CreativeFinalUrls which would have the full url
with the parameters but this is no longer available in Ads APi. Wondering
if there is a work around for this.

Best,

Discrepancy between UI and API for creation of portfolio bid strategy with Maximize Conversions

2020-02-25 Thread John Doe

The AdWords UI allows creation of portfolio bidding strategies with
Maximize Conversions type,

but the API indicates this bidding as a standard bidding and does not
support creation of a shared bidding with Maximize Conversions. Why?

Re: Why are all my Offline Conversion imports being rejected with INVALID_CONVERSION_TYPE?

2019-11-21 Thread John Marquard
I was able to get a test Conversion Action called "*john test lead exists 2*"
working last week.

I changed the name 2 days ago to "*john test lead exists 6*", but I can
still submit conversions to "*john test lead exists 2*"... all conversions
sent to "*john test lead exists 6*" are rejected with
OfflineConversionError.INVALID_CONVERSION_TYPE.

Am I using the wrong id/key/name/label to identify the conversion?

Google Manager account got closed and API Center disappeared, G support directed me here

2019-10-18 Thread John Felix
We are having a development project where we need to connect to Google Ads
through Google Adwords API. We followed the official Google instructions (
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/start), created a
Manager Test Account (this was Wednesday) and today the API Center
disappeared, and the accounts appear to be closed. We haven't made any API
calls on Wednesday we just set up the account and we wanted to start the
dev work today.

We reached out to Google's support (through their Chat messaging) and they
said we should wait till they investigate, now they sent us an email, that
the Google Ads Support department does not have any information about the
Google Adwords API as that's a separate department and they sent us here to
try to get an answer on the forum.

Not sure if any of you encountered similar issues with a test account or
could help me out find the right department / support people from Google.

Thanks in advance,
John

Re: API campaigns report not matching UI and total incorrect

2019-09-16 Thread John O'Toole
Hi Dannison,

I'm having a similar issue where the cost totals from the campaigns page
differ by a few pennies every day compared to the same data from the
Reports page. The first instance of this happened on August 15th for us,
everything is a match before then. I would guess it is a rounding issue or
currency issue, but it seems to be too unusual to be considered normal
behavior.

Thanks,

John

UseRawEnumValues ignored when querying AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

2019-09-15 Thread john p

Hi

I'm using the Google Ads .NET API.

I have set  (user.Config as AdWordsAppConfig).UseRawEnumValues = true for
the user.

This works ok when I use ReportQueryBuilder to query the
KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT. I.e. the KeywordMatchType column returns the
enum formatted value e.g. 'EXACT'. If I remove UseRawEnumValues it returns
the display formatted value e.g. 'exact'.

But when I call the AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT with UseRawEnumValues set to
true, it is returning the display formatted value for the
CombinedApprovalStatus value. I.e. it returns 'under review' instead of
'UNDER_REVIEW'.

I need the enum value as the returned values are mapping to the google
AdPerformanceReportReportRow object which has the corresponding property as
the enum type.

Here are snippets of the relevant code:

var user = new AdWordsUser();
...
(user.Config as AdWordsAppConfig).UseRawEnumValues = true;
return user;

 var retriever = new AdPerformanceReportRetriever();

//CriteriaPerformanceReportRetriever retriever = new
CriteriaPerformanceReportRetriever();
var rows = retriever.Run(user);

...
 ReportQuery query = new ReportQueryBuilder()
.Select("AccountDescriptiveName", "CampaignName","AdGroupName",
"Headline", "CampaignName", "CombinedApprovalStatus","Description",
"Description1","DisplayUrl")
.From(ReportDefinitionReportType.AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT)
.Where("Status").In("ENABLED", "PAUSED")

ReportUtilities reportUtilities = new ReportUtilities(user,
"v201809", query,
DownloadFormat.GZIPPED_XML.ToString());

Not sure why it works for keyword report but not ad performance report.

Advice appreciated.
John

AddBudgetProposal error

2019-09-06 Thread John Yi
I used the API to add account budget proposal. This Monday I got an error
message "Request contains an invalid argument", but I didn't change
anything. It still worked last Friday. I changed the argument to be the
same as the example. The error message is the same.
