Google Ads API: Customer Match With Attributes Job Type

2024-03-04 Thread 'Manuel Lopes' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hello,

I'm trying to use the "CUSTOMER_MATCH_WITH_ATTRIBUTES" job type (see here
),

to update info on a Audience List previously uploaded to Google Ads.

My request is running for a while, and when I re-check it after a few
hours, it returns "Success" status.

However, I'm not able to verify in the Google Ads UI, if the information
was correctly uploaded or not.

How can I verify this in the Google Ads UI (or via API), and be sure that
the Attributes I'm passing to my users were correctly assigned?

For reference, I'm passing lifetime value for all users, which is the
"LifetimeValueMicros" parameter (see here

).

Thanks in advance,

Can't create a test client account

2023-12-19 Thread Manuel Finch
 Hello,

when being logged into Google Ads account as a test MCC account, and trying
to create a test client account, I get a warning saying that I need to link
a real existing account first, which needs to bethe following:
"This needs to be a Google Ads account that
has spent more than $1,000
has a history of policy compliance"

Is this for real? Do I need to connect my test account to a real quality
account in order to create a new test clent account? Or is this an
error/bug? Please adivise.

Once again, the steps to reproduce this isuue are the following:
1) I go and create a new Google Ads Test Manager/MCC Account (by following
instrusction from here:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/best-practices/test-accounts)
2) The Test Manager is being successfully created
3) After that I'm trying to add a new Test Client Account (by clicking
*Accounts
> Create new account* ) - and after that I see a message ssaying I cannot
create it. Please advise.

Here's a screenshot for better understanding of what we're trying to achieve

Re: "Custom Variable" campaign segmentation via Google Ads API

Hi team.

We use custom variables with offline conversions for Shopping Ads.

Is it possible in the shopping_performance_view add for each conversion
these variables?

Thanks

shopping_performance_view vs Google Ads UI Report

2023-09-26 Thread Manuel Regidor
Hi.

I am trying to replicate a custom dashboard from my Google Ads account.

This dashboard show metrics grouped by Merchant Center Accounts.

However, I am having difficulties to replicate the exact dashboard.

First of all, basing on the query builder
,

there is no way to select Conv. Value / Cost (ROAS). Should I build this
manually dividing metrics.conversions_value/  metrics.cost_micros?

Secondly, how can I select conversion value from conversion time (rather
than conversion click)?

Thank you!

Substitule URL in parallel tracking

2022-12-01 Thread Manuel Regidor
Hi.

We are implementing our tracker following this guide
  (or
https://support.google.com/css-center/answer/9133743).

The question is that we don't really understand the point of the substitute
URL.

So our tracker can redirect to the *{lpurl},* how can we "decrypt" this
substitute URL?

Thank you.

GeoTargetConstantSuggestion difference between AdWords and GoogleAds

2022-01-13 Thread Manuel Del Carril
Hello,
I am getting GeoTargetConstantSuggestion from GoogleAds API. The problem is
that comparing the results with the AdWords API there are results present
GoogleAds API that are not present in AdWords API and viceversa. For
example, in case the search term is "Nashville" limiting to 10 values, the
ids returned are:
AdWords API:
  1026083
  1017229
  1016711
  1021238
  1015449
  1013302
  1019478
  9058972
  9024187

GoogleAds API:
  200659
  1026083
  1021238
  1016711
  1017229
  1013302

SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT.OfferId contains "--" in some reporting entries

2020-07-06 Thread Manuel Rodriguez Guimérans
Hello,

I've noticed that in the SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

some (not many) impressions are not being allocated to any OfferId (a.k.a.
Item Id). I.e., the OfferId

and ProductTitle

attributes in the report contain "--". What's odd is that none of the
description of both attributes explicitly mentions "--" as a possible value
(other attributes do, like AverageCPC
,

for example). Also, those "--" OfferId values are only returned from the
AdWords API for reporting data from 2020-06-25 on. Is this a bug or should
we assume OfferId="--" as a legit value?

Here an example query and result:

SELECT
  Device,
  OfferId,
  ProductTitle,
  Impressions,
  Clicks
FROM SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
DURING 20200625,20200625

Device Item Id Product Title Impressions
Clicks
Mobile devices with full browsers -- -- 6
0
Tablets with full browsers  --  --  61
 0

# I'm omitting almost 40k rows where Item Id != '--', totalling ~4M
impressions

Thanks in advance and regards,
Manu

Re: AdWords API Bug? Double quotes not escaped any more in PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT.ProductGroup

2020-06-24 Thread Manuel Rodriguez Guimérans
Hi Mitchell,

thanks for your quick reply. However, I don't think this is related to any
particular client library, as we haven't changed library version around
that time or made any other changes in the affected services on our end. In
order to verify that assumption, I've just tried fetching the same reports
by using cURL directly (posting an XML report definition, as described here
) and got
identical results. I guess that discards client libraries as possible
cause, right?

As a side effect, I came across a few extra pieces of information that
might or might not be relevant:
* Not all ProductGroup values that contain a double quote lack proper
escaping. Some of them are still escaped correctly. Incidentally, the ones
I've seen still correctly escaped happened to have the double quote at the
end of the string. That last detail could be irrelevant and attributed to
chance, as my sample size is quite small, but maybe it was worth mentioning
anyway.
* Reports downloaded many days ago, 2020-06-10 for example, have all
ProductGroup values properly escaped. However, if today I download that
same 2020-06-10 report, I get ProductGroup values without escaping. I guess
this was to be expected anyway, considering that ProductGroup is a field of
type "Attribute".
* Based on the "Change history" report, none of the affected product groups
were modified around the time this issue manifested itself.

Any clue about what the cause might be, in light of these additional facts?

Thanks once again and regards,
Manu

AdWords API Bug? Double quotes not escaped any more in PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT.ProductGroup

2020-06-24 Thread Manuel Rodriguez Guimérans
Hello,

up until a few days ago (around 2020-06-15, from what I can tell) the
PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT.ProductGroup

values returned by the AdWords API had double quotes properly escaped,
making each product group value nicely parseable into its individual
components. However, that escaping is now missing, which makes the
information unparseable due to ambiguity. Is this a bug in the AdWords API?
Any estimation on when would it get fixed?

Below an example. I'll be using single quotes to enclose string literals,
as one would do in Bash or Python.

Let's imagine two product groups defined in terms of two product type
values: 'foo' and 'foo"bar'. Up until 2020-06-15, those two groups would
have been rendered in the PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT.ProductGroup

field as:
- '* / product type = "foo"'
- '* / product type = "foo""bar"' (notice the double quote between 'foo'
and 'bar' being escaped)

but now 'foo"bar' is rendered as:
- '* / product type = "foo"bar"' (notice the double quote between 'foo' and
'bar' is not escaped any more)

Encoding those ProductGroup values into CSV adds another layer of double
quote escaping, but that's not relevant for the discussion and can be
safely ignored.

Thanks in advance,
Manu

Adding Audience User List and checking new users

2019-12-17 Thread Manuel Lopes
Hello,

I have been using through the API the MutateMembers operations to add
members to a userlist in Adwords. However, the only feedback that I get
upon adding new members is " User list with name "###" and ID
"#" was added. "

However, I would like to check for some individual members if their data is
being inserted correctly. Is there any other way of getting feedback on
this? Can I check which members are in a given list at each moment? I
searched through the API Documentation but didn't find anything.

Thanks,

Manuel Lopes

Difference between Google Ads UI, Google Ads Big Query Export Data and Google Ads API

2019-11-21 Thread 'Manuel Spierenburg' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

I'm seeing some difference in the data when I compare the google ads ui
with data from our daily BQ export and when I query data with the google
ads api.
For example number of campaigns:

When I check in the UI on MCC level and use filter enabled + eligible I see
10887 campaigns
In the BQ table with filter enabled and serving I count 10859 campaigns
And querying all enabled and serving campaigns via the google ads api I see
10862 campaigns.

These are small differences but what could be the reason to get these
different numbers?

When I compare audiences though the differences are much bigger.
Unfortunately I can not see all audiences on MCC level in the UI.

But when I query all user list criteria with help of the api I get: 454167
criteria which have 9673 unique campaign ids
When I check the Audience table I see 223155 entries though with 5871
unique campaign ids
And when I check the Criteria table with filter USER_LIST on criteria type
I get 156290 entries with 121 unique campaign ids

Why do I see these differences?

Maybe I do not fully understand the content of the Audience and Criteria
table.
Shouldn't they include all audiences on a daily level?

Thank you,

Manuel

Documentation offline?

2019-10-07 Thread 'Manuel Spierenburg' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Google Ads Api Team,

It seems that the documentation for the google ads api is offline already
for some time.
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/start

Also I discovered that I get DNS resolution errors currently when trying to
use google ads api v2.

Is the documentation coming back?

Kind regards,

Manuel

Impression Share on Big Query's KW Performance Report Equivalent

2019-09-30 Thread Manuel Lopes
Hello,

I recently started the transfer process from Adwords to Bigquery.
Everything seems ok, and the mapping from Adwords API reports to BigQuery
tables is very clear on Google's help page (
https://cloud.google.com/bigquery-transfer/docs/adwords-transformation).

However, there is one (that I noticed) missing metric:

There is no way to get Impression Share by Device for a given KW. On the
API, through the Keyword Performance Report, it is very easy to do so.
However, in BigQuery,
the KeywordCrossDeviceStats table, does not allow to retrieve Impression
Share data by device.

Am I missing something, or is this supposed to be like that? If so, it
means that I have to get this data through the API, which defeats the point
of having the Adwords to BigQuery setup.

Thanks,

Manuel Lopes

What timezone if segmentation by hour

2019-08-28 Thread 'Manuel Spierenburg' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
In the google ads api in the query we can segment by hour to get hourly
metrics for example.
But I could not find any information which timezone is applied in this
case. Is it in UTC or is the timezone of the account used?

Example:

SELECT
 segments.hour,
 metrics.clicks
FROM
ad_group

WHERE segments.hour BETWEEN 8 AND 9

How can I generate report using Google adwords api without downloading the file?

2019-07-19 Thread Luis Manuel

Hi all,

I am using the adwords API with version v201809 and I have the following
question.

How can I generate the report CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT without
downloading the file (for example just showing the result). Here is
actually what I do:

$reportQuery = 'SELECT CampaignId,CampaignName, Impressions, Clicks, Ctr , Cost
'
. ' FROM CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT '
. ' WHERE CampaignId = '.$campaignId.' DURING
'.$date.','.$date;

// Download report.
ReportUtils::DownloadReportWithAwql($reportQuery, $filePath,
$user,$reportFormat, $options);
$dataArray =file($filePath);

I download the file, then I read from the data to show it up.

Check the response of Anthony Madrigal answer

 but
I am not clear with awql, since the example is in xml.

I hope you can help me.

Thanks.

This is the answer of the previous post.

[

$report = ReportUtils::DownloadReport($reportDefinition, NULL, $user,
 $options);

$xml = simplexml_load_string($report);
print "";
print_r($xml);
print "";

I'm using the adwords API and I'm downloading the reports correctly, the
problem I have is that I need to extract the data but not download it, I
have not found in the documentation how to perform this process since all

How to get the metrics of an account, campaign, or ad group (adwords-php)

2019-07-09 Thread Luis Manuel
Hi all,

I am using the adwords API for php but I have not found how to perform very
simple queries.

I want to make this query, but I do not understand how to make the query,I
want to make a report, but not to download it.

"SELECT CampaignId, AdGroupId, Impressions, Clicks, Cost FROM
ADGROUP_PERFORMANCE_REPORT WHERE AdGroupStatus IN [ENABLED, PAUSED] DURING
LAST_7_DAYS"

I have managed to make this query, but I do not understand how to do the
one I mentioned earlier.

$query = (new ServiceQueryBuilder())
->select(['Id', 'Name', 'Status'])
->orderByAsc('Name')
->limit(0, self::PAGE_LIMIT)
->build()

I hope you have understood me and that you can help me

We found out that these errors are caused by accounts which are not really

Currently we blacklist those accounts.

Still strange that these cause this errors.

Reporting at Customer / Campaign level, but NOT at ad/ad_group levels

2019-05-07 Thread Jesse Manuel
Here is where I am hitting a wall on the Google API -

Of the levels to get data on an account:
- Customer/Account
- Campaign
- Ad_group
- Ad_group_ad

I am trying to pull impression / click / conversion counts (to test)

To get this information, I am running the following campaign-level query
via the PHP api library:

*SELECT*
*   metrics.impressions,*
*   metrics.clicks,*
*   metrics.conversions*
*FROM*
*  campaign*

This query *successfully* returns results (and works fine at the
customer-level too!):

*[0] => Array*
*(*
*[impressions] => 36315*
*[conversions] => 24*
*[clicks] => 152*
*)*

*[1] => Array*
*(*

*BUT* I need this information ad the *ad_group_ad* (ad) level, so I am
running this query:

*SELECT*
*   metrics.impressions,*
*   metrics.clicks,*
*   metrics.conversions*
*FROM*
*  ad_group_ad*

That seems to return nothing (the same is true for the 'ad_group' level):

Array
(
)

So my question is this: Why am I unable to access any metrics info below
the campaign level (ad_group, ad_group_ad)? Am I doing something wrong?
Should I do it another way?

Adwords API returning empty response on account when no campaigns are created

2019-03-27 Thread Manuel Olmedo
Hi all:

When I try to fetch adwords api account performance report from an empty
account, it returns empty response.

This is my AWQL query:

SELECT
AccountCurrencyCode,AccountTimeZone,ExternalCustomerId,CustomerDescriptiveName
FROM ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT WHERE ExternalCustomerId = ''

This happens in a just created account, I'm not able to retrieve details
such as timezone.

Im using PHP SDK.

Thanks in advance

Accented Characters on Keyword_Performance_Report

2018-10-18 Thread manuel . lopes
Hi,

I have an issue when I try to do a Keywords_Performance_Report, and on the
"where" clause, i choose an AdGroupName. In the past, the report returned
no results when the AdGroupName had accented characters. The solution, as
given in another post on this forum, was to URLencode() the AdGroupName
string. However, lately this solution has not been working, and even with
URLencode, the report returns no results.

Is there any solution for this? Have there been any updates to the API that
disallowed this solution to work?

Thanks in advance,

Manuel Lopes

Re: Querying the search query report for accented charaters

2018-10-18 Thread manuel . lopes
Hello Michael,

I did the same as Alex, and, for a long period of time, that solution
worked. However, today, even after encoding the request with URL encode, no
results are returned.

Were there any changes to the API that make this solution obsolete? Thanks

Manuel

Adwords API for Auction Insights vs Google Studio

2018-09-13 Thread manuel . lopes
OPTIONS

Hi,

Since there is still no way to retrieve Auction Insights info from the API,
i found that you can use Data Studio for that purpose.

On Data Studio, when i build a report to retrieve Auction Insight - Domains
by Adgroup, I noticed 2 errors on the results:

1- When comparing with the results from regular AdWords (over the same time
interval), the Impression Share metric is not similar at all.

2- There are several competitors that show up in the Auction Insight -
Domain that have 100% IS. However, when i look up those same competitors in
Adwords i see that they show "<10%" IS, so this must probably be a bug on
Data Studio side.

Is there any way to solve this? Because Data Studio is very useful to get
Auction Insights info in bulk (which is not allowed in AdwordsAPI), however
the results are most definitely wrong.

Thanks.

Re: Wrong data on KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

2014-05-13 Thread Manuel Gómez
Thanks, Josh, for your answer. I had totally slipped that when migrating to
v201402. But after implementing that change to interpret the currency
correctly does not solve my problem either.

See, in my campaign, the total cpc cost for the reported period is
$9,985.26, and the cost value in the report is .99, so no division
by a million would get me the real value.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Ad hoc reporting problems KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

2014-05-12 Thread Manuel Gómez
Hello.

I'm having trouble retrieving KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT from the API.

In the Cost and CostPerConversion fields, I get *HUGE* numbers (like
99,999,999€) for a humble client that's far from that amount.

I've double checked rerporting goodies from the docs and I can't figure it
out.

No errors whatsoever, only huge numbers that differ from those in the
AdWords console.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Reporting: Get aggregated account statistics per day - DAY not supported as field?

2013-01-14 Thread Manuel Th
I am trying to get account statistics aggregated by each day in the last 7
days. I thought this would be possible by adding Day, Month and Year as a
field in my awql query, but it gives me a
ReportDefinitionError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME_FOR_REPORT error although the
fields are defined in the report document. How do I do this? Thanks

I am using the following query:

SELECT
Clicks, Cost, Impressions, Conversions, Day, Month, Year
FROM ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
 DURING LAST_7_DAYS

Re: How to find out the possible ids for the OperatingSystemVersion Criterion? BETA_ERROR

2013-01-10 Thread manuel . thurner
Update: I tried to add OperatingSystemVersion criteria with the IDs 3
and 30001 which correspond to the Desktop and HighEndMobile platforms, but
this gave me an invalid id error. When I add the mobile platforms IDs (
630159, 630252, etc.) it works, so I will stick with those for now... would
be interesting to know though how to add the normal platform criteria and
how it really is supposed to be in the RMF.

So is it enough to offer those 4 operating systems as targeting criteria in
order to fulfill the point "Opt in/out of devices" in the RMF list?

Re: Missing Keyword Data

2012-03-29 Thread Manuel
Hi Eric;
finally after a couple of weeks, i wanted to go live with our v201109
migrated application since I thought that all basic API-features should be
stable in the meantime (including real-time reports).
Unfortunately just I experienced a delay of ~7 minutes with keyword reports.
This is very sad and did not happen with v13 reports.
Is there anything I can do to help you solving this issue ? (log excerpts
etc.)

Best,
Manuel

Re: Missing Keyword Data

2012-02-24 Thread Manuel
Hi Michael, hi Eric,
I guess I'm experiencing the same issues with adhoc keyword performance
reports.
After adding and deleting several keywords via the API and retrieving a new
report afterwards, some of the deleted keywords still exist in the report
and vice versa, whereas UI results are up-to-date.
Since our application syncronizes an account's data with the report, this
behavior is crucial to us.
As a matter of fact, by trying to syncronize with deprecated data, our
application tries to delete already removed keywords, which will result in
an API error

EntityNotFound.INVALID_ID @ operations[0].operand.criterion.id;
trigger:\'*\'

I already found out, that statistical data (clicks, conversions etc.) are
updated in nightly cronjobs and are not presented in real-time. Does this
circumstance also apply to the overall "up-to-dateness" of the keywords
(without regarding statistical data). But that seems to be in contrary to
your statement, that the report-data reflects the UI-data.

I'm really interested in the outcome of Michael's case, since that seems to
reflect the same issue. Please let me know, if I could help in any case.

Best,
Manuel

PS: we did not experience those issues with the old v13 reporting
services...

Re: TargetingIdeaService BUG

Thanks. I think this is an important issue. Are sure Google is not
doing the same mistake on the search results?!

Re: TrafficEstimatorService xml

Thanks. It was the first word that come to mind. I am sure there must
be others, maybe in the top cpc values?

Re: TrafficEstimatorService xml

2010-11-09 Thread manuel
Thanks Brendan but...

Why is "credit card" returning $0 CPC from the API?

And why $12.13 on the Keyword Tool and $10.22 on the Traffic
Estimator?

All set to English and US

Thanks,
Manuel

Re: TargetingIdeaService BUG

2010-11-09 Thread manuel
"Secretária" is a woman (pt)
"Secretaria" is a building (pt)

"País" means country (pt)
"Pais" means parents (pt)

How can Google "combine" two absolute different words, with a complete
different meaning into one, just because they "look" alike?

Of course, the above are just two examples, but there are, of course,
many more. In French, Spanish and Portuguese, at least.

Manuel

Re: db migration, are accents now ignored for spanish terms

2010-11-06 Thread manuel
You say: "statistics for accents and non-accented keywords are
combined into a single search volume number."

This is absolutely wrong. Google can't simple combine two absolute
different words, with a complete different meaning into one, just
because they "look" alike.

I see Google is now doing the same mistake on the search results!!!

I don't know what language experts Google has consulted, but in
French, Spanish and Portuguese there are a lot of words that when
accented gain a complete different meaning!

2010-11-05 Thread manuel
Hello

This is a VERY SERIOUS issue.

"Vídeos" is Spanish
"Vidéos" is French
"Videos" is English

"Música" is Portuguese
"Musica" is Spanish

 "Secretária" is a woman (pt)
 "Secretaria" is a building (pt)

"País" means country (pt)
"Pais" means parents (pt)

This used to be correct on previous Adwords API. What has happened?

Do you mean to tell us this is the way Google is handling the data
inside for the search results also!?!?!

Please fix this HUGE BUG asap.

Regards,
Manuel

Re: Getting API usage info

2010-11-05 Thread manuel
Thanks Eric, working now.

The UNIT_COUNT are the Used API units right?

Also, how come I can't set the max dateRange to a future date? (end of
the month for instance) <- ERROR

Thanks,
Manuel

TargetingIdeaService BUG

2010-11-04 Thread manuel
Hello

How come TargetingIdeaService is now returning values for "musica"
when I am searching for "música"?
Credito instead of Crédito, Videos instead of Vídeos, and so on.

This seems to affect every French, Spanish and Portuguese accented
words. (Haven't checked other languages)

It used to give correct results! Please fix this huge BUG!

Regards,
Manuel

AdWords API Re: client reporting

2010-03-10 Thread Manuel
Hi,
as you can see on
http://adwordsapi.blogspot.com/2010/02/60-days-left-to-migrate-to-v200909.html
Report-Services haven't been migrated to v2009 yet.
I think that you'll find all important information and developments
about the API here at first.

Manuel

AdWords API Forcing errors in sandbox

2010-03-10 Thread Manuel
Hi all,
currently I'm migrating to v2009 and the sandbox is doing a nice job
for this so far...
At the moment I'm trying to deal with the error-handling and stumbled
upon:

http://code.google.com/intl/de/apis/adwords/docs/developer/adwords_api_sandbox.html#forcingerrorresponses

which says, that you just have to add the error-code to your email-
header (++121) for triggering that error.

Unfortunately, I'm getting an auth-exception (InvalidArgumentException
- "The login request used a username or password that is not
recognized.")

I'm not quite sure if i'm using the proper email-header, since the
docs mention the following pattern: login_id++error_code

I've set my my email-field in auth.ini to "myem...@address.com++121"

Do I have to replace my email-address to some different ID or
something (if so - where do i find my ID ? ;-) )?

Thx in advance,
Manuel

PS: I'm using the PHP-Library

AdWords API [PHP] Equivalent of getOverallConsumedUnits() in v2009 ?

2010-03-03 Thread Manuel
Hi,
is there an equivalent of v13's way of retrieving the consumed quotas
for the current API-Session ?

APIlityClients::getClients()->getOverallConsumedUnits();

Yet, I've only found the InfoService where you can only specify a date
to retrieve the consumed quoats for a timespan, but not for the
current session/operations.

Every help is appreciated, thx in advance
