RE: No call extension from feed item resource

2022-10-05 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Carina,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Forum.

I understand that you are using a feed item report and not pulling any call
extensions. For us to investigate further, could you provide the Google Ads UI
screenshot without cropping so that we can see customer ID and date filters as
well? You may provide to us privately using reply privately to author option.

No call extension from feed item resource

2022-10-05 Thread Carina Palmqvist
Hi,

We are querying the feed item resource but are not getting any call
extensions. We are using the following GAQL:

SELECT customer.descriptive_name, customer.time_zone, campaign.id,
campaign.name, segments.date, segments.placeholder_type, metrics.clicks,
metrics.impressions, metrics.cost_micros, customer.currency_code FROM
feed_item WHERE segments.date BETWEEN '2022-09-21' AND '2022-09-27'

and the result does not match what we see in the google ads UI. We are
using the extension view. We see call extension data here, but not from the
API call.

Best regards,
Carina, developer @ Funnel

Fetching caller phone number from call extension using API

Hi!

Is there any updates
on https://groups.google.com/g/adwords-api/c/3krv5ygd-Ic/m/UME4Q5r3BgAJ ??

We also need to get the caller's number on our ads.

We can get the caller's number from the UI and set up an auto-send report
to the mail, then parse the report. So the information is available to us,
but not by API, which is very sad.

Please, implement the feature.

Re: Call extension API not available

2021-09-10 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hello,

The approach taken for setting extensions is not related to the specific client
library you are using. However, asset based extensions will soon replace
extension setting services, so we recommend that you use the asset based
extensions. You can read this blog post for more details on this migration.

Call Extension Api Query

2021-09-08 Thread Justin Blake
I'm trying to query all call extensions for a particular campaign or
multiple campaigns. When I use the Google Ads Query Builder to write it,
this is what it returns:

SELECT campaign.id, extension_feed_item.call_feed_item.country_code,
extension_feed_item.call_feed_item.phone_number, extension_feed_item.id,
extension_feed_item.resource_name, extension_feed_item.status FROM
extension_feed_item WHERE campaign.id = XX

When I run that query, nothing is returned. When I go into the my account,
get the call extension id, and then create a new query without the campaign
id it looks like this:

SELECT extension_feed_item.call_feed_item.country_code,
extension_feed_item.call_feed_item.phone_number, extension_feed_item.id,
extension_feed_item.resource_name, extension_feed_item.status FROM
extension_feed_item WHERE extension_feed_item.id = XX

When I run that, the call extension is returned and looks like this:

extension_feed_item {
  resource_name: "customers//extensionFeedItems/X"
  status: ENABLED
  call_feed_item {
phone_number: ""
country_code: "US"
  }
  id: XXX
}

Is it a bug the query builder will allow me to select the campaign.id even
though it doesn't work?

How can I get all the call extensions associated with a list of campaign
ids?

RE: How to get Call Extension Phone number through AdWords API

2021-03-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Stephen,

Thank you for posting your concern.

I would like to inform first that there is currently no available sample code
in C# for retrieving call extension phone number. However, if you want to
retrieve this information, then you may use the following suggestion based on
your preferences.

If you used Extension Setting Services on creating extension, then you may used
the following methods as it will return callPhoneNumber field:
AdGroupExtensionSettingService.get()
CampaignExtensionSettingService.get()
CustomerExtensionSettingService.get()

If Feeds Services is used on creating extensions, then I would suggest using
the method below instead:
FeedItemService.get()

Let me know if you have further questions.

How to get Call Extension Phone number through AdWords API

2021-03-30 Thread Stephen
I am trying to retrieve a phone number that was added as a Call Extension
for either Account/Campaign/Ad group.
I am not seeing any documentation for retrieving this phone number

 Also, of the three ways to add call extension (Account/Campaign/Ad group)
is there an easier/preferred option to get this phone number?

Thank you!

Hi Eli,

While it's not possible to get the IP of a call extension clicker, you can run
the Placeholder Report to get performance data on your call extensions and see
what campaigns they are from. You can also run the Placeholder Feed Item Report
which will give you performance data on each individual call extension.

I apologize for not being specific enough. I am most certainly asking about
the API.

Let's say a call extension was clicked:

I am not getting a website visit out of the click by definition -- thus
many of the processes that fire on an ad click are not happening, as far as
I can tell.

Our application is used to track what happens when an ad is clicked. I have
all the information I need for a "normal" ad click, but I am not getting
much info as it relates to Call Extension clicks. I would like to capture
the IP of the call extension clicker, as well as a total count of Call
Extension clicks per campaign on a given date range. Can you point in me in
some sort of direction that might get me the info I'm after?

Call Extension Clicks

2020-01-08 Thread Eli Star
Hello Forum,

Can call extension clicks be tracked via the tracking template?

Is there a way for us to find out the IP address of people who click a call
extension?

Does call reporting factor in the answer?

Thank you for your support!

Retrieving Conversion Action for a Call Extension

2018-10-19 Thread bradford . loesch
I am currently using the Python SDK v201802 to do CRUD on call extensions.
When retrieving information about the feed item, I am observing
inconsistent behavior.
According to the adwords docs here:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/placeholders#call

The attribute values should contain an id of 6 with the id of the
conversion in the integer field. However, this is not always the case.
Sometimes, there is no integerValue, but there is a stringValue
USE_ACCOUNT_LEVEL_CALL_CONVERSION_TYPE
USE_ENTITY_LEVEL_CALL_CONVERSION_TYPE

I haven't seen any place where this is documented. In addition, sometimes
there is an attribute value id of 7 which contains a stringValue in
addition to the expected attribute id 6 with an integer value.

So what is going on here? How am I actually supposed to easily identify
what this conversion action is, assuming the only things I know about the
call extension are the feed item id and the feed id?

Re: Extract call extension info associated to an ad group

2017-11-15 Thread 'Bharani Cherukuri (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Jose,

The metrics you're trying to pull are not available in a single report. You
will have to use multiple reports to get all the data. Using the AdGroup
Performance Report
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/adgroup-performance-report>,

you could get the AdGroupId and filter data in the Ad Performance Report
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/ad-performance-report>.

With the Ad Performance Report, you can retrieve the CallOnlyPhoneNumber
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/ad-performance-report#callonlyphonenumber>
 to
pull the phone number related metrics.

Thanks,

Hi,

My apologies if I missed this in my previous response. You will need to
specify the Id

 of
the AdCallMetricsConversion tracker to the CallConversionType

Re: How to set Call Extension Advanced option through api

2017-07-25 Thread 'Peter Oliquino' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

We currently have no direct sample code for this, however, what I can
suggest in order to achieve this using the AdWords API is to create an
AdCallMetricsConversion

 tracker
using the ConversionTrackerService

 as
mentioned in this section

 of
the tracking and importing conversions

guide. You may then refer to the sample code that can be found in this link

 (other
language also available in the link) and just replace
AdWordsConversionTracker with the AdCallMetricsConversion.

I hope this helps and let me know if you require more information.

Best regards,
Peter

Thanks Sreelakshmi for the response!

Can you offer any suggestions about connecting individual calls to those
GCLID records? I see how I would get the list of click performance records
for a given day where the clicktype is "CALLS", and I could compare that to
the list of calls that came into my system, but how would I connect those
two data sets?

Is there a way to capture the GCLID of a call in real time?

Yes, the call extension click also will generate a GCLID. You can extract
the stats for the GCLID by using the CLICK_PERFORMANCE

You will need to look for the corresponding rows where clicktype

 is
'CALLS'.

You can also check out the Phone call conversions

Correlating a call extension call with the generated GCLID

2017-03-02 Thread Chris Hahn
Hello,

I've read in a few places that a call extension click/call also generates a
GCLID record, since it's a click on an ad. Is there any mechanism that
allows us to capture that GCLID to know more about the call after the fact?

Something along the lines of a webhook that can be fired to a URL with the
GCLID as a part of the payload, so it can be recorded and used later to
lookup click performance data on users who call a given AdWords account.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Re: Click Performance Report via API > Call Extension gCLID > import to Analytics > Link and attribute to Adwords

2017-01-18 Thread ajohnson
Hello Swetha,

The agency I work for is a premier AdWords partner and I personally
attended the AdWords API workshop in Google NYC last year. It would mean
more than you know if you could help us resolve this issue we are having.

We've tried to upload offline conversions, using the template CSV as a
model, as both "import from click" and "import from calls" and the only
time we have been successful is when the click type of the GCLID from the
click_metrics_report is not "Phone Call". For example, we try to import the
GCLIDs that are generated from our call extension calls or click-to-call
clicks, which show a click type of "Phone Call", and the conversions do not
register in AdWords. When we import a GCLID that has a click type of
"Headline", the conversion registers successfully. Again, we are not using
Google Forwarding Numbers as we have a third party service that provides
specific phone numbers for us to use, but we would still like to import
these calls as conversions and attribute them correctly via the GCLID.

Thanks for providing your feedback and, again, the resolution of this issue
is worth quite a bit to us.

Best,
Alan Johnson

Re: Click Performance Report via API > Call Extension gCLID > import to Analytics > Link and attribute to Adwords

2017-01-17 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Alan,

Yes, you can still import the GCLIDs from the Click Performance Report

 into
your AdWords account as either "import from click" or "import from calls".
These conversion types are used so that a user can get a measure of what
happens offline when an ad results in a click or call. Please see this guide
 for more information on
offline conversion tracking.

Please note that the same conversion won't be imported more than once. So,
if you try to upload a conversion with the same combination of same GCLID,
name, and time, AdWords will ignore it. But if you want to upload multiple
conversions of the same type, for the same click, you can. AdWords will
record them as separate conversions as long as they have different times
(the GCLIDs and conversion names can be identical).

Regards,
Shwetha, AdWords API Team.

Re: Click Performance Report via API > Call Extension gCLID > import to Analytics > Link and attribute to Adwords

2017-01-17 Thread ajohnson
Thank you for that info, Shweta.

I would like to kindly ask you if you could confirm one thing, if possible.
The GCLIDs that I obtain from the click_metrics_report via AdWords API,
which are generated from call extension or click_to_call "clicks", can I
still import them to AdWords as either "import from clicks" or "import from
calls" conversions even if the ad never takes them to the landing page?

We do not intend to use Google forwarding numbers because we have a third
party call tracking service that needs to use specific numbers. We would
like to be able to attribute these GCLIDs to the proper keyword/campaign as
conversions. Thanks so much.

Best,
Alan

Re: Click Performance Report via API > Call Extension gCLID > import to Analytics > Link and attribute to Adwords

2017-01-13 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Alan,

If you have set up conversion trackers
 to
track calls from call-only ads or ads using call extensions, these
conversions are already attributed to the corresponding keyword in your
AdWords account. This information is available in the Click Performance
Report

 as
well. You can use the Call Metrics Call Details report

 to
get details for calls to Google forwarding numbers, if you are using them
in call extensions and to track website call conversions. The AdWords
metrics listed here

 are
the the ones available in the linked Analytics account if you have enabled
auto-tagging.

I'm afraid the issue of importing these conversions into your Analytics
account is not in scope for this forum. I would suggest that you post your
query in the Google Analytics API forum
.

Regards,
Shwetha, AdWords API Team.

Click Performance Report via API > Call Extension gCLID > import to Analytics > Link and attribute to Adwords

2017-01-13 Thread Alan Johnson

Hi all,

We have an Google Adwords account linked up to a Google Universal Analytics
account and we are trying to attribute call extension conversions to the
Adwords via Analytics using only the gCLID. We are getting the gCLIDs via
the Google Adwords API.

In other words, we get these Google click IDs (gCLID) from the Google click
metrics report every time there is a click to call on our ad. However,
since the user never actually goes to the site, it is impossible to grab
the Google Analytics CID to identify an Analytics session.

We would like to import these gCLIDs to Analytics and have them attributed
to our Adwords account by sending events using the measurement protocol.
These are the parameters that we are sending with MP so far but with no
success as of yet.

v: "1", tid: "UA-xxx-x", cid: "555", gclid: CMvmjrWWvdECFQONaQodh, t:
"event", ec: "SEM Call", ea: "Call Placed", cn: "NADA Event", ci:
"x", cs: "google", cm: "cpc", ev: 27, kc: +nada

The event source / medium turn out to be correct but Analytics doesn't seem
to realize that we are trying to import conversions to attribute and link
with our Adwords account.

We know that importing directly to Adwords is a possibility, but we would
rather import directly to Analytics if possible, due to other tracking
issues.

Can anyone help me attribute my gCLIDS (conversions) to my Adwords account
and specifically, to Adwords keywords, in this way?

Thanks!

Alan

Unable to create a call extension with the Python client

2016-11-25 Thread Phil Tysoe
I am trying to create a call extension using the Python API client. My
code is as follows:

operations = [
{
'operator': 'ADD',
'operand': {
'campaignId': 12345,
'extensionType': 'CALL',
'extensionSetting': {
'extensions': [
{
'ExtensionFeedItem.Type': u'CallFeedItem',
'status': 'ENABLED',
'feedType': u'CALL',
'callPhoneNumber': '0555666',
'callCountryCode': 'GB',
'callTracking': False,
'disableCallConversionTracking': True,
'feedId': 123456,
'feedItemId': 1234567,
}
]
}
},
}
]
return self.services['CampaignExtensionSettingService'].mutate(
operations)

I've tried removing the feedId and feedItemId fields, but I am still
getting:

suds.TypeNotFound: Type not found: 'callPhoneNumber'

I have used service.get() to view the returned data structure and can't see
any obvious difference. Could someone point out what I'm doing wrong here?

tell the exact date of when the timing of GCLID generation of your ads get
changed.

I would like note also that, if you don't implement anything depending on
the assumption that *GCLID is unique and is a 1-1 mapping to an ad click, *your
application will get no effects*.*
Only visible change would be that CLICK_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/click-performance-report>

will have a new field *Clicks* (number of clicks for a given GCLID)
available.
Provided that most users don't click on ads many times per impression, this
field would mostly contains a value of 1.

If your applications/tools do something based on the fact that GCLID is
unique per click, please feel free to ask for help if needed.
Thanks in advance!

Thanet, AdWords API Team

GCLID Generation on Impression: Does this effect Call Extension Calls?

2016-11-07 Thread Sean Storlie
Hello,

I read the article that your team put out a few months back related to the
fact that you will be changing the GCLID generation to impression time
instead of click. My questions are below:

   1. Will Call Extension calls share this same behavior (i.e. GCLID will
   no longer be generated on clicking the call button, but on impression/Ad
   load instead).
   2. And, please indicate a release date for this, Q4 is not necessarily
   adequate for developers that are programming against your API's, we need
   more specifics than a QTR time range.

Re: Call extension

2015-05-11 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi,

You'll encounter that error if you are trying to enable call tracking on
your call extensions (e.g., by setting CallFeedItem.callTracking

 to
*TRUE*) but your account is not whitelisted for call tracking.

You can avoid this error by setting CallFeedItem.callTracking to *FALSE* (if
you don't need call tracking), or by contacting your Google Representative
to get added to the call tracking whitelist.

Thanks,

Re: Add Google Adwords Call Extension to AdGroup using API

2014-07-30 Thread James Mills
Hi Josh,

Yes, it would seem that although the value is true by default if the Feed
does not have the field loaded and mapped then it has nothing to save it
against when you try and update values in the FeedItem. That's my guess
anyway. What I have done now is just included entries for all the
FeedAttribute )phone, code, tracking , call only and conversion type) when
creating the Feed and also include them all when doing the FeedMapping.

When creating a FeedItem I miss out the Conversion Type Id and it uses the
'Calls from ads' Conversion action by default if you have tracking turned
on (Google forwarding number) so that works out OK.

Question: The only thing I don't seem to be able to change at the moment is
the 'Device preference - Mobile' box. I want to be able to select (tick)
and not. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it, I am using this
from the SiteLinks example adapted from the CampaignFeedOperation example

https://gist.github.com/jamesmills/af9206f88b1e0880b281

Thanks for looking at the other changes.

Re: Add Google Adwords Call Extension to AdGroup using API

Hi James,

Thanks for the update. Based on your suggestion, I've got a change in the
works to add the word "Uppercase" to the beginning of the description for
COUNTRY CODE on the placeholders
 page.

I'm also going to look into whether we need to update that doc with better
indicators of what's required and what's not. I see that we currently say
that TRACKED defaults to *true*, but your experience suggests otherwise.

Cheers,
Josh, AdWords API Team

UPDATE

I added a 'CONVERSION TYPE ID' but still had the issue. Turned out I had
forgotten to add 'TRACKED' to the Feed and FeedItem etc. this is what was
giving us the error.

I was trying to save some lines of code by omitting them but turns out I
ended up causing myself (and you) more pain than was needed. I have now
added all options and I am able to edit this in Adwords Admin area now.

The issue with having to include the 'CONVERSION TYPE ID' is that you then
have to make sure you have a 'AdCallMetricsConversion object' created and
so you can use that Id. I guess there are are a couple of options for this
and so I will give it some more thought.

Thanks again Josh, you have been a great help!

Saying that I cannot see a way to set the "Report phone call conversions :
Count calls as phone call conversions" & "Conversion Action" settings.

I thought maybe that I need to set the Conversion Type Id to be the Id of
an AdWordsConversionTracker Object but then you would have to create a
new AdWordsConversionTracker object first and then get the Id and...

Confusing myself I think.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for looking into this.

I noticed that the country was listed as 'Afghanistan' so I inspected the
live site and noticed they should be uppercase. Link from the docs or an
example would help.

I was looking at the placeholder
docs https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/placeholders
and noticed I have not included the CONVERSION TYPE ID so I suspect this is
causing the issue. I had thought that maybe if I missed it out I would not
have to reference anything but it looks like I need to give a
AdCallMetricsConversion object...

Re: Add Google Adwords Call Extension to AdGroup using API

2014-07-29 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi James,

One issue I see with some of the other feed items is that the country code
is in lowercase ("gb"), but the API is expecting uppercase. That's why you
see "Afghanistan" selected as the country for the other call extensions.

Regarding the error on save for ad group ID 13788225903, my theory is that
this is due to the *Count calls as phone call conversions* option being
checked under *Advanced*. If you uncheck that box, does the save still show
an error?

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Re: Add Google Adwords Call Extension to AdGroup using API

2014-07-29 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi James,

Glad to hear that this thread has been helpful! Your plan below looks
reasonable to me as long as you also add a step to create the FeedMapping,
as you mentioned. You can create the FeedMapping after either step 1 or
step 2, whichever is better for your application flow. The key is to have
the FeedMapping in place before you create the CampaignFeed or AdGroupFeed.

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Re: Add Google Adwords Call Extension to AdGroup using API

2014-07-29 Thread James Mills
Hi Josh,

Thank you very much for your reply, this entire thread has been extremely
valuable.

So this is what I am doing.

   1. Get or create a unique Feed item. In my case it is a Call Extensions
   Feed.
   2. Create a FeedItem for a given phone number. This matches
   the feedAttributeId to the value I want to set.
   3. Next step is to use either CampaignFeedOperation
   or AdGroupFeedOperation to link the FeedItem to a Campaign or an AdGroup.

I found from the example there is also the stage of running the
FeedMappingService. This seems to map the feedAttributeId's
to PLACEHOLDER's. I am guessing that this should be run just after creating
the new Feed?

Re: How to get Campaign's defined Call Extension Phone number through AdWords API or the Reports?

2014-07-28 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi Muhammad,

There are two ways to get this information: reporting or a combination of
the various feed services.

The reporting approach is, by far, the simpler way to go. If you have
impressions where call extensions have served, you can simply run the
Placeholder
Feed Item Report
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports#placeholder-feed-item>,
 include
the *FeedId*, *FeedItemId*, and *AttributeValues* fields, and look for rows
where *PlaceholderType* is equal to *2* (for CALL). On the row
corresponding to the PHONE NUMBER placeholder field
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/placeholders>, the
*AttributeValues* field will contain the phone number.

You could also use the various feed services to find the phone number as
follows:

   1. Use *CampaignFeedService* to find the CampaignFeed

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.CampaignFeed>
 that
   has the appropriate campaignId

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.CampaignFeed#campaignId>
and placeholderTypes

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.CampaignFeed#placeholderTypes>
 containing
   *2*.
   2. Inspect the matchingFunction

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.CampaignFeed#matchingFunction>
 of
   the *CampaignFeed* to determine which feed ID and feed item IDs are
   mapped to the campaign for the CALL placeholder type. Chances are that the
   function's lhsOperand

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.Function#lhsOperand>
 is
   a RequestContextOperand

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.RequestContextOperand>
with contextType

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.RequestContextOperand#contextType>
*FEED_ITEM_ID*, and the function's rhsOperand

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.Function#rhsOperand>
 is
   a ConstantOperand

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.ConstantOperand>
whose longValue

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService.ConstantOperand#longValue>
 contains
   the feed item IDs. You'll want to capture the feed item IDs from the
   *rhsOperand*.
   3. Use *FeedMappingService* to find the FeedMapping

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedMappingService.FeedMapping>
where placeholderType

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedMappingService.FeedMapping#placeholderType>
 equals
   *2* and feedId

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedMappingService.FeedMapping#feedId>
 equals
   the feed ID from step 2. Find the AttributeFieldMapping

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedMappingService.AttributeFieldMapping>
where AttributeFieldMapping.fieldId

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedMappingService.AttributeFieldMapping#fieldId>
 is
   equal to *1* (for the *PHONE NUMBER* placeholder field), and note the
   feedAttributeId

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedMappingService.AttributeFieldMapping#feedAttributeId>
   .
   4. Now that you have the feed ID and feed item IDs from step 2 and the
   feed attribute ID from step 3, use FeedItemService

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedItemService>
 to
   retrieve the feed items.
   5. On each feed item, inspect the FeedItem.attributeValues

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedItemService.FeedItem#attributeValues>
 where
   the feedAttributeId

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedItemService.FeedItemAttributeValue#feedAttributeId>
 is
   equal to the feed attribute ID from step 3. The stringValue

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedItemService.FeedItemAttributeValue#stringValue>
 will
   contain the phone number for the call extension.

Note that the above assumes that you only have call extensions defined at
the *Campaign* level. If you have *AdGroup*-specific call extensions, then
use AdGroupFeedService
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/AdGroupFeedService>
 instead
of CampaignFeedService
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/CampaignFeedService>
 for
steps 1 and 2.

Josh, AdWords

How to get Campaign's defined Call Extension Phone number through AdWords API or the Reports?

2014-07-27 Thread dgs world (Tech Team)
Hi all,

The tech team at DGS World has been utilizing the services of AdWords API
for quiet a long time now. Recently, we came across a requirement to
retrieve the 'Phone number' defined under the *Call extensions* under the *Ad
extensions* tab defined for the Campaign or AdGroup.

We've tried the AdWords API and the Reporting services, but we haven't been
able to find the solution.

Can you guys please direct us towards a solution to get the Phone number
defined for the Campaign or AdGroup?

Thanks,
Muhammad Jawwad

 a. Use the Customer/Campaign/AdGroupFeedService to find the
Customer/Campaign/AdGroupFeed with *placeholderTypes* containing 2 (for
CALL), and then inspect its *matchingFunction* to determine the FeedItem
IDs.
 b. Use the *Placeholder Feed Item Report*
<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports#placeholder-feed-item>
 with *includeZeroImpressions*
<http://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.com/2011/12/zero-impression-data-in-adwords-api.html>
 set
to *true*, and look/filter for rows where *PlaceholderType* is equal to 2,
and grab the *FeedId* and *FeedItemId* from those rows. This option seems
simpler to me, since you won't have to interpret the matching function.

   1. When you create a Feed object does that then live in the
   account accessible by all Campaigns and all AdGroups? I know the name is
   unique but what's the container for it to be unique in? For example, this
   is what I am thinking?

  2. Create a call extension Feed object (one time action).
  3. Create a FeedItem with the distinct phone number etc. (multiple)
  4. Create the AdGroup to use the FeedItem (multiple)
  5. Link the AdGroup and the FeedItem using AdGroupFeed (multiple)
  6. Continue to make any Ads etc. within the AdGroup
   2. I am guessing that a Feed object is unique to the Adwords Customer

Re: Add Google Adwords Call Extension to AdGroup using API

2014-07-23 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi,

We generally recommend creating one Feed per extension type, so in your
case I would have:

   - One Feed

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedService.Feed>
 object
   for call extensions
   - Within that *Feed*, a FeedItem

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/FeedItemService.FeedItem>
 for
   each distinct phone number and country code you'll want to use, e.g., one
   per adgroup
   - An AdGroupFeed

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/AdGroupFeedService.AdGroupFeed>
 for
   each ad group, with placeholderTypes

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/AdGroupFeedService.AdGroupFeed#placeholderTypes>
 set
   to 2 (for the CALL placeholder type
   <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/placeholders>),
   and a matchingFunction

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201406/AdGroupFeedService.AdGroupFeed#matchingFunction>
 that
   specifies the ID of the *FeedItem* that corresponds to the ad group

Note that you could also set up a *CampaignFeed* if all of the ad groups in
the campaign should use the same call extension.

Cheers,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Add Google Adwords Call Extension to AdGroup using API

2014-07-23 Thread James Mills
I am successfully adding new AdGroups to the Campaign of my choosing.

I would now like to add a phone number to be displayed against the ads in
that adgroup. I understand this to be an Call Extension. Looking into this
I have found that this needs to be added using the API Feed Service
(http://goo.gl/LzkI4g). I understand that this works the same as adding
SiteLinks and I have found this example
examples/AdWords/v201406/AdvancedOperations/AddSitelinks.php
<https://github.com/googleads/googleads-php-lib/blob/master/examples/AdWords/v201406/AdvancedOperations/AddSitelinks.php>
 in
the PHP client library.

I have reworked this to add a CALL rather than SITELINKS. I have also
reworked this to add this feed to the AdGroup rather than the Campaign.
https://gist.github.com/jamesmills/675fa4574484468a04a5

My first question is:

Every time I add a Feed it says the name needs to be unique. Does this mean
I can create one Feed item of this type and then just reuse it and only add
the attributes needed for the AdGroup? So I guess I mean add one Feed for
the Campaign and then just update the phone number and country code for
each individual adgroup?

Issue with implementing Click to Call Extension

2014-07-10 Thread Elad
Hi,

We implemented the Click to Call feature via the Feeds in the API.

While we tried to set Placeholder Type CALL in the field ONLY to be true -
it fails to work. We keep getting 'Both' in the UI (image attached).

(Placeholders setting per
- https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/placeholders)

Anyone have a solution for it?

Thanks!

Mark call extension phone as selected when added

2013-10-30 Thread ewteam
Is it possible, to mark newly added phone number to Call extensions via
FeedItemService as selected (e.g. as when selecting it from AdExtensions)?
Or is there some workaround that may achieve same effect? I've looked
through the documentation, but got nothing to work for me. Thanks in
advance!

Re: Feed Services APIs (only 1 active call extension in the campaign, but APIs returns 4)

2013-07-15 Thread Anash P. Oommen (AdWords API Team)
Hi Julian,

You could look at the CampaignFeed items in your account using
CampaignFeedService::get(), that should tell you which all FeedItems are
mapped to campaigns and which aren't.

Anash

Re: Feed Services APIs (only 1 active call extension in the campaign, but APIs returns 4)

2013-07-12 Thread Julian Khandros
Anash,

Thank you for your continued help on this issue. I replied to your post
before by email, but I'm not sure if that made it to this forum, so I'll
post my relpy here.

Your outline makes sense. 1 question is -- how to tell from the FeedItems
below which of them are currently "live" in the UI vs those that are in the
feed but are not showing ni the UI?

Thanks again.

Re: Feed Services APIs (only 1 active call extension in the campaign, but APIs returns 4)

2013-07-09 Thread Anash P. Oommen (AdWords API Team)
Hi Julian,

I'll use the request ids in your logs to explain what's happening:

1. 0004e09d237c94a80ae5230357a4: CampaignId 146894957 has 2 matching
functions. First matching function is feedId = 123917, feeditemIds
IN(850277, 6047117), the next one is feedId = 124037, feeditemIds IN(850517,
850637). So your campaign has 4 ad extensions.
2. 0004e09d237fada00ae539491589: Feed id = 123917 has 5 fields
(CallPhoneNumber, CallCountryCode, CallCallTracking, CallCallOnly,
CallConversionDuration). This is a call extension feed.
3. 0004e09d2383f7480ae50e8811c7: Feed id = 123917 has 3 phone numbers
in all.
4. 0004e09d2386a6c80ae58b4c24c0: FeedId = 124037 has 4 fields
(SitelinkName, SitelinkUrl, SitelinkDescription1, SitelinkDescription2).
This is a sitelinks feed.
5. 0004e09d23892f380ae58949483a: FeedId = 124037 has 5 sitelinks in all.

So the way to interpret this whole thing would be,

You have a sitelink feed with 5 sitelinks, and a call extension feed with 3
phone numbers. You added 2 sitelinks and 2 call extensions from those feeds
into campaign id 146894957. The UI agrees with these SOAP logs.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more clarification.

Cheers,

Re: Feed Services APIs (only 1 active call extension in the campaign, but APIs returns 4)

2013-07-02 Thread Julian Khandros
Hi Anash,

Thanks for getting back. This campaign's status is deleted. My
understanding is that you can still get the data for this campaign without
filtering out deleted status. Do you still need me to do as you asked, or
are you able to see the deleted campaign?
