View product details in a shopping campaign

Please let me know where I have an error in the sql query.
I need to know detailed information about the products in the shopping 
campaign, such as: number of impressions, number of compressions, etc. This 
is not a Max Performance campaign, but an ordinary shopping campaign. The 
SQL query that I am sending will show me only the summary information of 
the given campaign, but will not show me information about the individual 
products in the campaign. Is there an error in the definition of the sql 
query or in the product settings in the campaign?

Add/Remove partition tree for Shopping Campaign product_group_view

Hello team,

I am in the process of  adding/removing a subdivision in 
product_group_view. 

What resource would I want to query from in order to receive the available 
brands that can be selected and added using the google ads api REST 
interface? 

My current product group view  is (this was created in the Google Ads UI):
All Products > brands

On the Google ads UI -  when I click 'edit subdivision' I am able to see a 
list of all the available brands that can be included.

and all available brands retrieved.

so, 'american outdoor grill' is already selected. I can also select other 
brands to add to the product groups.

Just curious, but can all this be accomplished with the Google ads api or 
is it necessary to use a combination of the content shopping api as well?

Product Partition by Brand for Google Shopping Campaign

Hello,

I had a question about the product partition and the relationship between 
parent and siblings.

My aim is to partition my shopping ads as such:
root
 product_brand
   product_item_id
  everything else in brand
everything else in all products

Meaning that when i create a shopping ad campaign, only the 
product_item_ids under the brand i created the campaign for are there. At 
least this is the desired result.

Issue:
Right now, my campaign creation includes the product_item_id under the 
brand, BUT also all other non-brand product_item_ids. The product_item_ids 
not under the brand show as ""this product group doesn't contain any 
products"" when hovered.  I've tried a few other variations and almost 
always leads to an error "'Dimension type of listing group must be the same 
as that of its siblings.'". This seems to be the working sample for me.

My question:
If I want to only show the products under the brand, in my create 
operations, how can I make sure the non-brand product_item_id is not being 
included?

Bidding Strategy : TROAS in Standard Shopping Campaign

Hi Team, 

I have a few queries regarding *TROAS bidding in standard shopping 
campaigns.*

   1. If we create a standard shopping campaign with TROAS Bidding, then 
   are we required to give the bids at the product group level?
 It gave me an *error while 
   creating a product group without a bid at the pg leve*l :

   report I can see *ad_group.cpc_bid_micros being set to some value*. How 
   do we get this value!? Is it from the campaign TROAS Value?

Hi Abd,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Forum.

I can see that you’ve encountered a CREATE_OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED error. This 
error indicates an unauthorized CREATE operation in invoking a service's mutate 
method. I can see that you are trying to create Smart Shopping campaigns. 
However, Smart Shopping campaigns are being upgraded to Performance Max 
campaigns.

As per this blog post, starting July 25, 2022, accounts without active or 
paused SSCs (including new accounts) will no longer be able to create SSCs. 
Once an account with active or paused SSCs has been automatically upgraded from 
SSC to Performance Max, no new SSC creation will be permitted in any surface 
including the UI, the API, Google Ads Scripts or Google Ads Editor.

That being said, I recommend that you create a retail performance max campaign 
as mentioned in this guide since ​ ​ Performance Max campaigns offer full 
parity with Smart Shopping campaigns.

I know SSC is being upgraded to PMAX

But what I want to know is
1. You can't use the developed function using SSC API, right?
1-1. The customer seems to want to create an SSC campaign, but the ADS
console does not provide it, so ask

2. It will take a long time to change the API from SSC API to PMAX. So we
can't provide SSC to customers until development, right?
2-1. The API changed to PMAX should be changed in the solution. That's why
I'm asking if the SSC API is no longer available.

Conclusion: Unable to support SSC API? PMAX API only available?

Upgrade of Smart Shopping Campaign with more than 1000 Product Groups

Since only 1000 Listing Groups are allowed in one asset group in a PMax 
Campaign, how would a Smart Shopping Campaign with more than 1000 Product 
Groups be upgraded to PMax?

In case they are allowed and upgraded as they are with same number of 
Listing Groups added to the asset group, what would be the rules to work 
with these campaigns? For example, would we be able to add more Listing 
Groups to the same asset group even after that asset group has more than 
1000 listing groups?

Google Ads Smart Shopping Campaign - Product Group - Product inclusion/exclusion via API

I'm having a little bit of trouble getting my head around modifying the 
Product Groups for Google Ads Shopping Campaigns via the Google Ads API. 
What I need to do is to modify the product inclusion and exclusion for 
certain campaigns.
This is what it looks like in the UI:

Is it possible to get a list of products that are included and excluded (so 
one list would include shopify_au_143132..., and the other list would 
include all the rest of the products)? And would it be possible to modify 
these inclusion/exclusions via the API?

Smart Shopping Campaign

campaigns, I am pointing to the shopping_performance_view table, but I find 
products that do not appear in the ADS platform and if it gives me the API.

Cannot set use_audience_grouped to true in Ad Group (Shopping Campaign)

Hi,

I am trying to create a shopping campaign in which I map audience resources 
to specific Ad Groups. I do this using the steps provided in the following 
document

However, whenever I do this I receive an error telling me 
"OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE" and it points towards the usage 
of "use_audience_grouped". Now, this leads me to the question: Is there any 
special process for adding audience resources for Shopping campaigns?

Any tips or information regarding this matter would be much appreciated!

Could you send us privately the full log of request and response API 
communication on your attempts?  The request and response appears similar to 
the JSON Mappings in our REST documentation. Our client libraries have loggers 
with logging instructions, to see these instructions you can click on the 
client library you use in the sidebar of our client library guide and click on 
"Logging". The required logs can be captured when the logger is set to 'DEBUG'.

Google Ads API: How to clear Target ROAS in the smart shopping campaign?

I am able to set the Target ROAS with a value > 0, no problem.

If I pass `campaign.MaximizeConversionValue = new MaximizeConversionValue { 
TargetRoas = 0 };`, I am getting this error from API:

I work with William and let me provide support to your concern.

Based on the Key section of this document, the responsive display ads can be 
added to standard Display campaigns and Smart Display campaigns using API. 
However, the smart shopping campaign is not mentioned so it is not possible 
also to create responsive display ads here using API.

Yet, so that our team can raise a feature request to my team for this, could 
you provide the document saying that it is possible to create this type of ad 
under smart shopping campaign? Also, you may try to create it manually and 
provide its ad Id and the campaign ID of the smart shopping campaign where it 
is created.

Please provide the requested details via Reply privately to author option.

followed the steps as mentioned here for creating the Ad. Also we would need to 
see both screens as well as all the settings as it would appear that you have 
something setup that the ad is not able to work with, as shown here .

Error when trying to create Root Product Partition for shopping campaign

I'm getting the following error when I am trying to make a single product 
partition (the "All Products" partition the UI has when you manually create 
a new ad group).

Error message "Call to undefined method" when updating smart shopping campaign

Hi Team,  We are working on smart shopping campaign,  Currently, when 
updating the campaign, our codes work fine on our local machine(Windows 10 
and Mac) but fail on our test server(linux) saying "Call to undefined 
method" as below

However, Campaign creation works fine on both local and test server.
Our codes are contained in docker both local machine and server.

Have you faced this issue before? Any suggestions?

Thanks for reaching out. In the AdWords API, the advertisingChannelSubtype 
segment, which can be used to filter shopping campaigns, is only available in 
the campaign performance report. However, this is possible in the 
age_range_view in the Google Ads API.

Hi,

The problem is that my values are different of 0 when I get the report 
without "segments.hour". With "segments.hours", they are always equal to 0.
I have the same issue on the Google Ads UI, here is an example where the 
first line is aggregated at the daily level but then I have nothing on a 
hourly level:

search_impression_share not available for Shopping campaign at hour level

Hello,

We are using the API to get campaign metrics and we have noticed that we 
cannot get search_impression_share metric (or all other predicated metrics) 
at an hour level for shopping campaigns. The API always returns 0.0 for 
those metrics.

I was not able to find any justification in the documentation. Could you 
please explain to me this behaviour?

We use the GoogleAdsService version="v5" and the query is:
SELECT campaign.id, campaign.name, campaign.status, metrics.clicks, 
metrics.conversions, metrics.conversions_value,

formulas?

The translations *Tasa de conversión (Covnersion rate)* and *CPC Máx. de 
referencia (Reference CPC Max)* are correct.
I will try with the extraction of fields that you mention and those that 
are missing I will try to extract them mathematically.

The two other red boxes in the lower left, that are grayed out, are the 
names of the products that come from the Merchant Center.  I have not found 
the name field in product_group_view or shopping_performance_view.  Where 
can I get it from?

Shopping perfomance report for Smart shopping campaign

Hello!

I'm trying to get Shopping perfomance report by offer ID for smart shopping 
campaign using google adwords API + java, but can't do that.

I'm using these predicates:

predicates.add(buildPredicate(CAMPAIGN_ID, PredicateOperator.EQUALS, 
campaignId.toString()));
predicates.add(buildPredicate(CLICKS, PredicateOperator.GREATER_THAN, "0"));

report type = SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT.

and I get no result in response. Should it be because smart shopping 
campaign is PAUSED now?
But when I try to make report in google adwords UI (Reports-> Predefined 
reports(dimensions)->Shopping->Item ID)- I see results.

And when I try to make the same report for another campaign - I receive 
correct data.


Please, help me to find what's wrong.

CustomLabels from shopping campaign in Adwords reports

Hi,

We have shopping contents setup and in that we have created some custom 
labels  for products. 

We have linked the shopping center api to adwords. Is there any way we can 
get reports for these custom labels under campaign performance or any of 
the campaign related reports?

Or we have to connect to shopping content api to get these reports?

Thanks for reaching out.  The best practice for Shopping campaigns is to create 
a Campaign with all products, then utilize Product Groups to subdivide.  See 
this support article for details of these steps.

How to get product feed data required in inventory filter while creating Google standard shopping campaign?

As shown in the image or in Google client account. We require 
product-related data(like brand, category, item-id, product type, etc.) 
while filtering the inventory but I don't know a way to get this data in 
the first place.

Please help me out here.

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, as explained here, managing the 
specific products has to be done in the Merchant Center or using Content API 
for Shopping. It is not possible in Google Ads API. I have submitted a feature

I have used the same method but the products I am getting not matching with 
the number of products showing when hovering on product groups. I am

clause. The campaign statistics aggregated at the product (OfferId field)

How can i create Ad group and add to campaign in C# API for Shopping Campaign ?

pro grammatically ?
i need the code snippet for C# API for Ad group creation and adding in 
campaign for Shopping campaign? it is not available in the document support 
for C#

Creating Shopping Campaign through API in .net C#, why budget id is required ?

While creating shopping campaign through API in C#, it is requiring shared 
budget ID mandatory ? is there any way if i don't have budget id yet , i 
directly want to assign the budget to campaign while creation what is 
required to do ?
Here is the snippet which require must budget id , please suggest 
workaround for this , i don't have any budget id at the time of campaign 
creation

However, you may refer below for my response if you were not able to view it :

is currently not possible to exclude a ProductScope or a ProductPartition 
criterion at the campaign level. You can refer to our criteria usage guide as 
to which levels targeting and excluding criteria are supported.

That being said, I would recommend that you instead use the 
AdGroupCriterionService to create your ProductPartition (ProductOfferId) and 
associate your ProductPartition criterion to a NegativeAdGroupCriterion object. 
To learn more about partitioning, you may refer to this section of our shopping 
campaigns guide."

Moving forward, my apologies once more as we currently do not have a specific 
example for what you are looking for. You can, however, refer to the 
AddKeywords example as it provides reference code on how to create an ad group 
criterion. For your scenario you can use the NegativeAdGroupCriterion instead 
and associate your ProductPartition to it in order to have the partition 
excluded.

them do I need to create a Conversion tracking for each campaign ?

There are a few tools out there that do this already but are built on the 
AdWords API. (I even built one myself). 
I think the Google Ads API has a few limitations. eg. I don't think it can 
subdivide by product category yet. Might be worth waiting til V2.

The shopping campaign in Google Ads API is currently supported, but is
still limited. You may check this guide

in the Merchant Center would automatically be reflected to Google Ads as
long as your Google Ads account and Merchant Center accounts are linked

Shopping campaign setup via API

[steinhaeusser . myworld]

Need to automatically setup Google shopping campaigns via Ads API based on 
the data which we have in Merchant Center. So whenever there are changes in 
Merchant Center (new product, new something) we want to reflect it in Ads 
accounts as well based on requirements how the campaigns will be 
structured. Completely automated process + a manual function to adjust or 
create shopping campaigns via API e.g. with an Excel file which needs to be 
uploaded into API UI. System needs to update campaigns ideally once a day. 
Is there someone who can help me here? Searching for someone who can 
completely develope it - of course not for free, but as a freelancer or 
whatever.
Would be great to get feedback here.

INVALID_PRODUCT_DIMENSION_TYPE When Adding CampaignCriterion To A Shopping Campaign

Hi All,

I am getting a CriterionError.INVALID_PRODUCT_DIMENSION_TYPE when 
attempting to add any product dimension other than ProductBrand to a 
ProductScope. After running into the error with my own code I tried with 
the github samples provided for Shopping Campaigns as located here:

what you could see on the Shopping Ads guide

I'm trying to use Ads API to create specific Shopping campaign structure. I 
need a separate ad group for each product from my Merchant Product Feed.
I'm stuck on ProductPartition.

I can't see in the docs and Api reference how to set up my divisions. I 
need to divide by offer id and then exclude all others. One product in each 
ad group - product group.

Can anybody confirm that its possible in current Ads Api with php client 
library?
Can anyone share an example code in PHP?
