this customer.

We are using SEARCH STREAM to get the data.

Hello,

Yes, I am using the Python client library. It had been working as expected
and then all of a sudden seemed to fall off. It appears that the client
library is installed and configured correctly.

The API is too slow on AWS Lambda

2023-01-04 Thread 'Piotr Popławski' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

I've been integrating the application with the googleAds API and the
problem is that the first googleAds request takes quite long (~15 s). I'm
using the npm package 'google-ads-api' to communicate with the API.

Request: SELECT conversion_action.name FROM conversion_action WHERE
conversion_action.status IN ('ENABLED').

The request is called by AWS Lambda and the interesting thing is that as
long as lambda is still running, the second request that looks exactly the
same takes ~2s. I've tried to increase the RAM and update the node version
on Lambda but it didn't help.

However, when I run the script locally, it takes ~2s as well.

I also checked in the logs that the issue is *not* related to cold lambda
starts. Do you have any other ideas of why it takes so long or what might
be the issue?

Thanks in advance!

RE: Google Ads API Slow Load in Prod

2022-11-17 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Rasmus,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API team. I hope you are doing well
today.

I understand that you are using Node js to call Google Ads API. However, Google
Ads API supported client libraries don't include Node.js, you can check this
link for the supported client library in Google Ads API. However, have you
tried to use the direct REST API for the Google Ads API to send an api call? If
not, then you may use REST API and see if it works on your end without being
slow request processing.

Google Ads API Slow Load in Prod

2022-11-16 Thread Rasmus Arvidsson
I experience 10x slower load times on production, compared to on localhost.
I can't find the fault, but I suspect it's because of GoogleAdsClient
creation taking a while.

*Using Google ads api on a Node.js environment via Next.js and Vercel.
Google Ads API v12. Npm package "google-ads-api" is used for creating the
client (v12).*

How can I fix this? It takes up to 60 seconds to load ads in production for
me right now. While it takes only a few seconds in local.

Thanks in advance!

RE: SearchStream fails with 503 and requests are very slow

2022-10-20 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for raising this concern to the Google Ads API support team.

With regard to your concern, there could be many possible reasons why you are
getting this kind of 503 gateway error so I can't say if this is related to the
provided forum case link. To take a closer look at the issue you are
encountering, could you share your GAQL and customer-id as well? If possible,
could you also share your complete request and response logs, and request-id?
You can provide it via Reply privately to the author option. If this option is
not available, then send it instead on this email address
googleadsapi-supp...@google.com.

If you haven't yet, logging can be enabled by navigating to the Client
libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation, and by
using the DEBUG log level.

SearchStream fails with 503 and requests are very slow

2022-10-20 Thread FW API
Hi,

We recently experienced a lot of failed requests with
google.ads.googleads.v11.services.GoogleAdsService/SearchStream.
The response contains few information and we have no idea how we could fix
this.

*Response Headers: null Body: null Failure message: null Status:
Status{code=UNAVAILABLE, description=502:Bad Gateway, cause=null}.*

The error occurs on different queries at different times. We had a lot of
them on 2022-10-18, mostly between 2 and 6 (UTC +2) in the morning. Today
it happened again.

Additionally some queries seem to be extremely slow.

Maybe it's related to
https://groups.google.com/g/adwords-api/c/paRyst75QKQ/m/aFXOhzAmAwAJ ?

Slow

2022-05-11 Thread Kubber
I'm trying to remove CampaignCriterionOperation using BatchJobService.

It used to work quite quick until last Thursday, but now it's very slow it
can take 30 minutes before it's done, and the amount of data is the very
same.
I see the same issue on uploading CampaignCriteria.

How long should it take to delete let's say 2 criteria?

I'm using code more less like this:

batch_job_service = client.get_service("BatchJobService")
batch_job_operation = client.get_type("BatchJobOperation")

batch_job = client.get_type("BatchJob")
client.copy_from(batch_job_operation.create, batch_job)
response = batch_job_service.mutate_batch_job(
customer_id=customer_id, operation=batch_job_operation
)
resource_name = response.result.resource_name

operations = []
for cbm in chunk:
campaign_criterion_operation =
client.get_type("CampaignCriterionOperation")
campaign_id = cbm.split(',')[0]
criterion_id = cbm.split(',')[1]
campaign_criterion_operation.remove =
f"customers/{customer_id}/campaignCriteria/{campaign_id}~{criterion_id}"
mutate_operation = client.get_type("MutateOperation")
client.copy_from(getattr(mutate_operation,
"campaign_criterion_operation"), campaign_criterion_operation)
operations.append(mutate_operation)

batch_job_service.add_batch_job_operations(
resource_name=resource_name,
mutate_operations=operations,
)
response = batch_job_service.run_batch_job(resource_name=resource_name)

for i in range(1, 20):
time.sleep(10*i)
if response.done():
   ...

Cheers,
Jakub

Keyword Performance Report slow since the 21st

2021-07-22 Thread joel
Starting yesterday our API downloads of Keyword Performance reports are
taking 3x as long as they did historically. This is consistent across
several thousand accounts. I've checked other report types (AdGroup,
Campaign performance) and they've remained consistent. Has something
changed with this specific report that may have affected performance? Also,
these reports are still on API v201809. Thanks!

Google Ads Api is slow

2021-02-15 Thread 'Matthieu Moullec' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi API team,

I've been querying the new Ads Api (v6), which is extremely slow. I'm using
async, but it still takes 2hr to retrieve 30 days of data, compared to less
than a few minutes for 3 years of data with the Adwords api. This is a big
issue for us.

Re: Gender and Age Range Performance Reports are very slow

2020-10-20 Thread theadsguy
Yes, it's consistently higher. I also counted the number of lines my report
aggregator is reading from each of the streams, and for some reason the
number of lines for gender and age range are MANY times higher:

campaign performance lines: 3680
Time for campaign performance report aggregation: 2.1
gender performance lines: 64032
Time for gender performance report aggregation: 4.41
age range performance lines: 149408
Time for age range performance report aggregation: 9.23

I kind of understand that age range is about 2x gender lines, because the
number of criteria in age range enum is about 2x that of gender's enum. But
why is campaign performance report so short while the others so much
larger? Device enum values are roughly the same number as age range, so I'd
expect roughly the same number of lines.

*NOTE:* I removed the *CampaignId* grouping from *AgeRange* report since I
didn't need that, so it brought down the time a lot, but still confusingly
high.

How do I provide the request/response logs from a Python script? It's a
stream HTTPResponseObject and there's no way to serialize it. And I've
already provided the report query for the request side of things.

Let me know how else I can help in debugging this.

Gender and Age Range Performance Reports are very slow

2020-10-16 Thread theadsguy

Hi,

I'm noticing that for some reason, gender and age range performance reports
are very slow. I'm using the Python API to fetch reports for 30 days.
Campaign performance report is a lot faster. Here are some times I profiled:

Time for campaign performance report: 5.35 secs
Time for gender performance report: 27.56 secs
Time for age range performance report: 67.18 secs

Is there a reason for this? And how can I speed them up?

Here are the queries for each:

1) Campaign performance:
*SELECT CampaignId, CampaignName, Device, Date, CampaignStatus, Clicks,
Impressions, Conversions, ConversionValue, Cost, ConversionRate,
CostPerConversion FROM CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT WHERE CampaignStatus IN
["ENABLED", "PAUSED"] AND CampaignId IN [] DURING
20200901,20200930*

2) Gender performance:
*SELECT Date, Criteria, Clicks, Impressions, Conversions FROM
GENDER_PERFORMANCE_REPORT WHERE CampaignStatus IN ["ENABLED", "PAUSED"] AND
CampaignId IN [] DURING 20200901,20200930*

3) Age range performance:

*SELECT CampaignId, Date, Criteria, Clicks, Impressions, Conversions FROM
AGE_RANGE_PERFORMANCE_REPORT WHERE CampaignStatus IN ["ENABLED", "PAUSED"]
AND CampaignId IN [] DURING 20200901,20200930*

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi,

Please also make sure that you order uploaded operations by operation type and
do not poll the job status too frequently. Also note it is recommended to add
no more than 1,000 operations per AddMutateJobOperationsRequest and use the
sequence_token to upload the rest of the operations to the same job. As the
Google Ads API is still in beta version, if the issue persists please consider
using the BatchJobService in the Adwords API.

Hi Xiaoming

Many thanks for getting back to me. I'm uploading the operations via batch
processing and have followed the best practices there - I'm ensuring that
only one operation per object (ad group in this case) is being uploaded and
only uploading one single batch of 50k operations (not multiple smaller
batches). The current 50k operation batch has been running for ~20 hours
and is only 30% complete.

Is some other issue the possible cause?

Many thanks

Slow Product Group Creation

2020-03-04 Thread Big Apple Buddy
Hi - I'm creating product groups across a bunch of different ad groups in
various shopping campaigns. I'm finding that the batch processing of
operations is very slow (< 50 operations a minute). The "progressStats"
suggest that the operations are being created successfully, but I was
wondering if there's best practices / suggestions on improving the speed of
operations processing. Many thanks in advance!

Google Ads API Super Slow

2019-03-28 Thread Haik
We manage adwords accounts for our clients.

Currently we use AdWords API, the rates that we log are around *20K-150K
*Campaign
Criterions created/removed per minute.
Now we implemented the V1 of Google Ads API, the rates that we log are
around* 0.1K-2K* Campaign Criterions created/removed per minute.

So the new API is unusable for us at these speeds. Is there anything that
can be done?

Basically this is the code:

var campaignCriterionServiceClient = new
GoogleAdsClient().GetService(Services.V1.CampaignCriterionService);

var response = await campaignCriterionServiceClient.
MutateCampaignCriteriaAsync(customerId.ToString(),
campaignCriterionOperationsList);

RE: downloading all campaign data using date range is super slow

2019-03-18 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Albert,

I would suggest to split up the report into multiple reports by reducing
the number of fields requested or decreasing the date range. Afterwards,
you may do post-processing on your end to merge the reports into a single
one.

Let me know if you have further clarifications.

Thanks,
Kevin

RE: [1-1026000025441] Slow performance adding 25M+ users to adwords list

2019-02-27 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Mitesh,

Here are some workarounds to your issue:

   - Instead of passing 50K emails in each thread, you can pass up to 1
   million emails

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201809/AdwordsUserListService.MutateMembersOperand>

   in a single operation. That would reduce the number of total operations
   required. Hence, you can run your process with less threads.
   - If multi-threading is a must, when a CONCURRENT_MODIFICATION error
   occurs, you can use exponential backoff

<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/bestpractices#distinguish_error_types>

   to spread out the threads in each retry.
   - Each thread can start with a different start time. The idea is to
   spread out the threads to avoid collision.

Note that processing large data sets for a relatively longer time is
normal.

Thanks,
Poki, AdWords API Team

I read here that some aspects of the API now allow concurrent changes. Is

RE: Slow audience list data populating

2019-01-22 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello Ivan,

If you uploaded the user list a couple of hours ago and seeing the
Populating status via UI then it is expected. It takes 6 to 12 hours for a
list to be populated with members, so you'll most likely see an "In
Progress" status (on the Google Ads UI) if you upload to an audience list
more frequently than once every 12 hours. To know more about customer match
considerations please refer this guide

.

If the problem persists please share the SOAP logs(request and response
)
of the upload operation performed without redacting any data. You could
refer this guide

to enable logging for Java client library, for other client libraries
please refer here
. You could
use reply privately to the author option while sharign the information
requested.

Slow audience list data populating

2019-01-22 Thread ivan . kharybin
Hello everyone!

I'm having problem with slow audience list data updating.
I've created new audience list via API and uploaded around 2000 customer
records as described here.
<https://github.com/googleads/googleads-python-lib/blob/master/examples/adwords/v201809/remarketing/add_crm_based_user_list.py>

It was done around 02+0300 on Monday. Since then this audience has had
status "Populating..." in web interface. Isn't it a bit too long? In future
I'll need to upload audiences with millions of records and update them on
daily basis; I'm afraid if Google can handle this.

CampaignService->get extremely slow (131 seconds)

2018-11-21 Thread Martijn Scheffer
sunday evening, without changing a line of code, my calls
sot CampaignService->get suddenly became incredibly slow
i have just 6 campaigns, that werent changed either.
every request takes between 130 and 132 seconds, no exceptions.

this is the code (copied from googles sample code):
   $campaignService = $adWordsServices->get($session,
CampaignService::class);
   $selector = new Selector();
   $selector->setFields(['Id', 'Name']);
   $selector->setOrdering([new OrderBy('Name', SortOrder::DESCENDING)]);
   $selector->setPaging(new Paging(0, self::PAGE_LIMIT));
   $page = $campaignService->get($selector);

there is nothing wrong with my server, requests to other web services
return in less than 100 ms

i tried other accounts, some without any campaigns, same 130 second wait

the response is valid, on my main account i get 6 names and id's, probably
around 1K of XML
i isolated the code, im doing nothing else, just the code above (with the
standard loop for paging
(but, it stalls for 130 seconds in the call to "get" so the paging code is
irrelevant.

was adwords updated, this week-end ? that would be unusual.
im using version 36.0.0 (i think, thats the highest number in the
chanelog.md file)
or is it v201802 ?

API slow in changing CPC bid in product partitions

2018-10-16 Thread David Antunes
Hi,

We're sending AdGroupCriterionOperations with changes to ProductPartitions
CPC bids to the AdWords API (using the BatchJobService) and each batch of
4000 changes is taking about 10min to complete
This seems slow, is it normal? is there anything we can do to make it
faster?

Many thanks!

is AWQL really slow?

2018-09-20 Thread Albert Paolo Rogelio
Hi I using AWQL to retrieve Account performance of all accounts in a mcc
account but it is really slow. im just getting 16 accounts and it will
consume up to 35seconds it is really bad. is there any way to speed it up?
i mean it is deployed in cloud server so it means it should be fast. im
confused it is it just the google api which is slow or my way in retrieving

BatchJobs processing speed suddenly very slow

2018-05-23 Thread Thorsten Merz
Hey there,

since today we are experiencing extremely poor performance on the batch job
processing via AdWords API (v201710).

Before we were executing batches of different sizes within seconds or even
1-2 minutes. Now it might take up around 10, 20, 30 or 60 minutes to finish
similar jobs.

Is there currently an issue with the batch job service / API or is there a
way to provide some addition information that might help us resolve this
issue?

Regards,

Thorsten

Re: Slow aw-reporting performance after update

2018-03-06 Thread 'Vincent Racaza (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Filip,

Your concern is more on the performance of the aw-reporting
 tool, and not AdWords API
specific (e.g. RateExceeded error in your aw-reporting tool). This said, I
suggest that you wait for the answer of the library owners in this link
 as they are more
equipped to answer issues/concerns related to this tool.

Thanks,
Vincent

Slow aw-reporting performance after update

2018-03-06 Thread Filip Holmberg
Hi,

Posting an issue concerning the latest version of the aw-reporting tool
here as well. Originally posted in the aw-reporting github issue
section.but maybe someone can help here as well since this is critical and
needs to be solved somehow before the next api sunset.

---

We have been using your tool for years with the same settings without any
major issues. Updated the tool to the latest 2.3.0 now and experiencing
some serious performance issues with our largest reports.

We keep up-to-date detailed data of our keywords for 65 days resulting in a
total of 10+ milloin rows. Up to now that query has taken about 4 hours to
complete when refetching all the data after updating the tool. However now
after this update the report downloading slows down after a while and gets
jammed at around 1,5 million rows updating only a few hundred rows per
minute. At the beginning of the process the download speed is around 60 000
rows per minute.

Any ideas how we can solve this critical issue? I have tried restarting the
whole process from scratch now twice so that does not seem to work. Please
help!

Re: Very slow batch job uploads (5.5+ hours)

2018-01-08 Thread 'Anash P. Oommen (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Bryan,

This particular task is proceeding slowly because its operations are not
ordered in a way that allows good batching. Try reordering operations such
that similar operations are grouped together (e.g. all adgroup creations
first, followed ad creations, criteria creations and labelling).

Cheers
Anash P. Oommen,
AdWords API Advisor.

Very slow batch job uploads (5.5+ hours)

2018-01-03 Thread Bryan
Hi, I am experiencing slowness when using the Batch job service via the PHP
library to create new ad groups, ads and keywords. The upload seems to be
very slow - I am not sure if this is a result of how the batch job is
created or perhaps errors on the other end that I am not seeing until it
completes. The batch job has around 94,000 operations, all of which are
"add" operations. It is currently at 53% and has been running for 5.5
hours. I have also seen slowness on other days when trying to perform
similar uploads. I would like to figure out what is causing the slowness as
this is blocking me from bulk uploading new ad groups on a daily basis.

Thanks

Re: MutateBatchJobservice is slow?

2017-11-27 Thread 'Peter Oliquino' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Venkata,

As mentioned previously, the BatchJobService is designed for processing
multiple numbers of operations and it should be able to accommodate the
number you have mentioned. However, please note the limitations mentioned
in this section

of
the guide when using the BatchJobService and to this section

 for
the requirements and the best practices

 as
well to ensure that you avoid any other issue when uploading your batch
jobs.

However, should you encounter any significant delays using the
BatchJobService for a greater number of operations, feel free to write back
and include the batch job IDs that experienced the delay.

Thanks and regards,
Peter

2017-11-27 Thread venkata munnangi
Hey Peter,

Thanks for the reply. Essentially my job has a varying limit of items from
1 to 20,000. 2 being not so common. On average, possibly 1000-2000.
For the worst case, Would 2 additions/remvals of product partitions
still not necessitate the usage of BatchOperations?

Currently, I had to implement my own retry/batch framework with the usage
of normal AdwordsAPI service for mutations. I am curious if I will
encounter using the mutate method for saving 20k product partitions (while
following the limits)

Hi,

My apologies for the delay. The BatchJobService is usually designed to be
used on a significant number of operations and not against only a few ones.
For example, for operations that may be ranging between 1-10 ADD/REMOVE
operations, you may just use the normal AdWords API service to handle them
and as per checking with the team, the batch job ID you mentioned contained
only one ADD operation so using the normal service should do.

Hi Kumar,

I am able to download a report using the report definition you provided in
CSV and TSV formats successfully. Could you try increasing the readTimeout
for report downloads or use predicates to break up the report request into
multiple, smaller requests? You could consider submitting multiple requests
that each filter for a subset of Campaign IDs.

Thanks,
Shwetha, AdWords API Team.

includeZeroImpressions = true, ReportDefinitionDateRangeType.YESTERDAY

As you can see above, typically I try and retrieve just yesterday's data.

I also set includeZeroImpressions to TRUE because we would like to track the
behavior of all keywords historically. Setting it to FALSE gives me a
relatively smaller dataset (in the hundreds) and it is typically faster due to
the size.

This being said, could you confirm if the conversions are still not visible

Downloading KEYWORD PERFORMANCE REPORT through AdWords API is slow for TSV files

2017-09-20 Thread kumar

1down votefavorite
<https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46247646/downloading-keyword-performance-report-through-adwords-api-is-slow-for-tsv-files?noredirect=1#>

I have tried to download the *KEYWORD PERFORMANCE* REPORT through AdWords
API in TSV & XML formats and it is crawling to finish and sometimes even
times out.

reportDefinition.setDownloadFormat(DownloadFormat.TSV)

The same report works well when I use the CSV format and the job finishes
in about 5 minutes.

reportDefinition.setDownloadFormat(DownloadFormat.CSV)

In both cases, I am talking about 2.2 million records that I am trying to
download through the report. Also, just as a side note, the same TSV worked
well with API version 2014 and I am currently using the latest version of
the API.

import com.google.api.ads.adwords.lib.utils.v201708.ReportDownloader

I could use the CSV format, but the issue is that some of the
fields/columns in the downloaded report contain "commas" and it gets quite
messy dealing with all that upstream.

BatchJob working very slow

2017-07-26 Thread Ершов Александр
Hello!

Today, one of our batch jobs is processed very slowly (>15 mins).

Could you please and take a look, why it's so?
My ideas

   1. We sent some slow operations?
   2. Wrong operation sequence / structure
   3. Adwords API inner loading balance mechanizm slow down at some points,
   if you exceed some limits / it's high load time

Very slow, microstep progress.

Slow AWQL Responses

2017-06-18 Thread AdWordsApiUser
Hello team,

AWQL response times have increased significantly in the last couple of
weeks, and it making a lot of our processes slow or backed up. Our estimate
is that response time to queries has increased 3x to 4x overnight (starting
around 6th of June). I followed the other thread where it was mentioned
that a fix had been deployed, but over the weekend, the system seems to
have become slower and we haven't noticed any significant improvements. I
understand that the team is working on a fix to help all everyone that is
dependent on the API, and I appreciate that :)

My question is this: Should we increase parallelism in our calls to get
around this issue? When should we expect a resolution?

Thanks,
MG

Batch job mutate is too slow, stucked, not efficient!!

2016-09-22 Thread mike
Hi,
Im using the API in order to upload keywords to adgroups.
I have ~10 and when Im using the batch job service is too slow(
sometimes the server crashs before).
I red the API documentation but cant find a better way that im using
My question is:
1. Is there a better way to upload all these content in batch job.
2. Is there a limit to upload operations in batch job.

This is my code(took from examples) in python:

def run_operations_as_batch_job(account_id, wait_for_response=False,
*operations):
set_adwords_client(account_id)
job_helper = adwords_client.GetBatchJobHelper()
job = create_batch_job()
upload_url = job['uploadUrl']['url']
batch_job_id = job['id']

job_helper.UploadOperations(upload_url, *operations)
while wait_for_response:
try:
sleep(5)
url = GetBatchJobDownloadUrlWhenReady(batch_job_id)
response = urllib2.urlopen(url).read()
return job_helper.ParseResponse(response)
except:
pass
return batch_job_id

def GetBatchJobDownloadUrlWhenReady(batch_job_id, max_poll_attempts=10):
batch_job = get_batch_job(batch_job_id)
poll_attempt = 0
while poll_attempt < max_poll_attempts and batch_job['status'] in ('DONE',
'ACTIVE', 'AWAITING_FILE', 'CANCELING'):
if 'downloadUrl' in batch_job:
url = batch_job['downloadUrl']['url']
print ('Batch Job with Id "%s", Status "%s", and DownloadUrl "%s"
ready.'
   % (batch_job['id'], batch_job['status'], url))
return url
sleep_interval = (30 * (2 ** poll_attempt) +
  (random.randint(0, 1) / 1000))
print 'Batch Job not ready, sleeping for %s seconds.' % sleep_interval
sleep(sleep_interval)
batch_job = get_batch_job(batch_job_id)
poll_attempt += 1

raise Exception('Batch Job not finished downloading. Try checking later.')

def get_batch_job(batch_job_id):
batch_job_service = get_service(Services.BATCH_JOB_SERVICE)
selector = {
  'fields': ['Id', 'Status', 'DownloadUrl'],
  'predicates': [{'field': 'Id', 'operator': 'EQUALS', 'values':
[batch_job_id]}]
}
return batch_job_service.get(selector)['entries'][0]

Re: BatchJobService is SO SLOW and not completing jobs

2016-06-01 Thread 'Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

I just heard back from the team working on this issue, and they confirmed
that they saw some problems with BatchJobService. The good news is that
they already applied a fix about an hour ago that should have helped with
the performance issue. If you're still seeing problems, please send over
some recent customer ID + batch job ID combinations and I'll take a look.

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

2016-06-01 Thread 'Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Could you double-check the IDs you provided? They are 9 digits long, but
customer/account IDs are 10 digits. If you could send a few customer ID +
batch job ID combinations where you're seeing issues, I'll investigate
further.

Thanks,

BatchJobService is SO SLOW and not completing jobs

2016-06-01 Thread Biniam Asnake Kefale
Hello,

We have reported this issue again and again and it is still happening.
Starting this morning, a lot of our CPC change and Adgroup activation and
deactivation jobs which are using BatchJobService are failing.

We have implemented a fault tolerance mechanism to restart jobs and poll
jobs every minute (recommended is 30 seconds).

Please fix the issues. We have a lot of accounts and today, all of them are
failing.

Anyone who sees this list can say that this product is not stable!

Please help

Re: Api very slow

2016-05-26 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Since this is not specific to the AdWords API, I'm afraid its not in my
area of expertise. Adding localhost(127.0.0.1) as the first line in your
/etc/resolv.conf will allow for caching of DNS queries which would be
helpful if there are connection issues. You can find more information here
.

Regards,
Shwetha, AdWords API Team.

Re: Api very slow

2016-05-26 Thread gianluca . aec

I found that the problem is in the curl call. My server Debian says:

Curl Hostname was NOT found in DNS cacheSomeone says that the problem is
the version of curl:
see
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/27093467/curl-hostname-was-not-found-in-dns-cache-error

Adding:
nameserver 127.0.0.1

to etc/resolv.conf (was only 8.8.8.8, first)

helped..

Any other solution?

Hi,

Can you profile the program execution using one of the profiling tools to
identify which area is taking more time? It might be an issue with the
resources available at runtime.

Thanks,

First Example of Google Adwords API very very slow

2016-05-25 Thread gianluca . aec
I tried to make a first example of GetCampaings.php as the guide said.

It takes very long time to get my campaigns.

The code slow are:
1. download the wsdl
2. GenerateHttpHeaders
3. __soapCall --> it's slow but request time is nice (about 200ms)

It takes about 15 second to get 1 campaign (test).

There isn't connection problem.

Why is getting structural information so slow?

2016-05-25 Thread Jason Stedman
Asker,

The report information you get is not up to the minute, it is aggregated over
time, but usually is about a day old. Processing has been done ahead of time to
make this data available for you. You can make a single request to retrieve all
of your keywords' data at once.

To get a single piece of data for a single keyword is also a request.

On the web(the API is a web service after all) each request takes set up and
teardown time. If you have 1000 keywords, retrieving them all individually
takes 1000 times the setup and teardown time as retrieving them all at once.

Think of it like moving to a new house. The single API call is like using a
small pickup truck with a 6 foot bed and packing everything yourself. You have
to drive back and forth many times, but you probably know where everything is
at all times. The report is like using a 26' moving truck and having help when
you pack. You might be able to get almost everything you need in a single trip
saving hours of driving time, but it all gets there! The drawback being you
have to unpack everything to find your hair drier.

As for using the report being subject to inconsistency, you are right but that
is the nature of the beast. If you are making all your changes using the API,
you should be able to update your local copy as you change things. If you also
have human users changing things in the AdWords UI, then you are going to have
inconsistency no matter what.

Why is getting structural information so slow?

2016-05-24 Thread Asker
Can some wise person shed some light on this information? I am finding
that it is relatively faster to get a performance report using Adwords API
than getting structural information about the campaign setup using an API
service. For example, getting the CTR information on thousands of keywords
is a relatively faster operation than getting the current value off a
location or device bid adjustment. This observation is also verified in
the following document
.
 I find it counter intuitive. Getting the information that changes
continuously must be slower than getting static information. What am I
missing here? What can I do to get structural information about an
account/campaign more quickly. Inferring the information from performance
reports is always subject to errors and often not possible. Any insights
will be welcome.
