The last time I took Amtrak from Seattle to Vancouver it was a thoroughly
unpleasant experience. Scheduled to arrive at 9:50 PM. Actually arrived at
1 AM.

For the Americans who have no experience of a proper train system maybe
it's normal. But if you have used Deutsche Bahn (DB) ICE trains or even
their regional trains it's nuts. On the german trains you can actually sit
and watch the clock at each station, the exact moment the second hand ticks
over to zero on the minute it's scheduled to depart, the train starts
rolling.

Even the Italian high speed rail system (which for europeans, is famously
disorganized) is far better.

Mastic or big stretch. silicone is garbage, you cant
pull it an put anything else in its place, once it
sets it doesnt change, it rots houses. Use mastic,
stays workable, sticks to most everything, you can
reuse it, I hate silicone. its banned in my house too.
If mastic doesnt fit the bill, big stretch  or a
butyl caulk is the only way to go. But mastic almost
always fits the bill. real mastic, not that garbage
Sticky Tape brand chewing gum either
If you have a lag pull for whatever reason and you
have a mount rocking mastick moves with it,
maintaining the seal. set silicone will open up or
pull out and let the water leak in
http://www.sashco.com/products/big-stretch/ if you do
roof repairs, have this in your kit btw. This is
great for cold repairs, it adheres to the shingles

Mastic or big stretch. silicone is garbage, you cant pull it an put
anything else in its place, once it sets it doesnt change, it rots houses.
Use mastic, stays workable, sticks to most everything, you can reuse it, I

If mastic doesnt fit the bill, big stretch or a butyl caulk is the
only way to go. But mastic almost always fits the bill. real mastic, not
that garbage Sticky Tape brand chewing gum either

If you have a lag pull for whatever reason and you have a mount rocking
mastick moves with it, maintaining the seal. set silicone will open up or
pull out and let the water leak in

I googled it.

The short version is freight companies own the rails, and they carry
passenger traffic because the guvmint tells them they have to. They
lose money on passenger service but make money on freight
service..so yes backwards QoS policy because to them it's not
backwards.

I never really knew. This is only my second train trip in my entire
life.come to think of it the other one was late too.

I agree on the Mastic being superior on roofs under antenna feet. Mastic under
vinyl tape is also very reliable.
Have never seen that big stretch product. Sounds ideal for wall penetrations.
But can you chew it?

Mastic or big stretch. silicone is garbage, you cant pull it an put anything
else in its place, once it sets it doesnt change, it rots houses. Use mastic,
stays workable, sticks to most everything, you can reuse it, I hate silicone.
its banned in my house too.
If mastic doesnt fit the bill, big stretch or a butyl caulk is the only way to
go. But mastic almost always fits the bill. real mastic, not that garbage
Sticky Tape brand chewing gum either

If you have a lag pull for whatever reason and you have a mount rocking mastick
moves with it, maintaining the seal. set silicone will open up or pull out and
let the water leak in

http://www.sashco.com/products/big-stretch/ if you do roof repairs, have this
in your kit btw. This is great for cold repairs, it adheres to the shingles wet
or cold

yep, the force 200 was mounted to one of those little light aluminum j
arms for the fsk, and the force 190 they overtightened the hose clamp and it
failed. Im coming across flapping cable, cable down inside the gutters, cable

That's a good idea.
I know a couple of Spectrum field techs, and apparently they get 12
weeks of training before they go out on their own.

Are those the Force 200 ?

I have had some real winners on our team. I feel your pain.
We now have a 2week boot camp all new hires go thru before sending them
out on their own adventures :)

I use the Left seat right seat method with a senior tech.

They're saying that as-is (with a 600+ mile range), the Roadster will be

too hard to imagine a lower-range unit that is considerably lighter (the
batteries alone are supposed to be close to 1800lbs). Point taken on the
road car vs a track car, but that applies to all of these to some
extent. And yes, the price is pretty absurd, the Z06 is much more
reasonable.

If Tesla had a 300 mile range version that was track-tuned it would be
really hard to compete with I would think.

0-60 does not a track car make.  Most of these cars we are talking
about can corner at about 1.1-1.2+gs.  That’s a big advantage on a
race track.  And they all weight a lot less than the Tesla will with
the entire car designed for 1 thing, lower lap times.  If you want a
race car, it’s going to drive like crap on the street.  If you want
a drag car, it’s going to drive like crap on a road track.  If you
want a car that can do all 3, that’s a compromise car.  The Tesla
roadster is built for the street first, road race cars will beat
it.  Drag only cars like a Demon will beat it in ¼ mile when
prepped, they are already hitting sub 9’s.

But seriously, how many of us are going to spend $250K on a car.  I
got hives thinking of spending $80K on a street Tesla.

How is a $500k gt more economical than a $250k Tesla? The Tesla is
going to blow the doors off of the GT and the Corvette. The Tesla
has a 0-60 of less than 2 seconds and a top end of 250mph.

Normal insurance won't cover any vehicle on a race track. You have
to buy specialized insurance, which I'm sure would be crazy expensive.

It would be more economical to buy the new Ford GT350R ($500k) or
the new Corvette Z06 ($120k)... mainly because they are the two
fastest track cars available right now... even beating the Porsche
918 ($1 million).

No doubt about that. But, considering the specs on this car,
