Still looking for a simple junction box to cover existing Cat5 coming out of

This is for joining the crapping indoor rated existing Cat5 to and outdoor
rated cable.

Home Depot has a $3 pvc grey junction box with screw on cover and two inch
holes.
That's about the best I can find.

But I would still have to drill a hole out for the Cat5 coming out of the
wall.
And completely plug up one hole, and probably caulk up around the outdoor
rated Cat5/6 coming out the other...

What I really need is that same junction box with a single smaller hole
about the side of outdoor Cat6, and a hole in the back.

Nothing more.

Can't find anything like that.

And most stuff like that is over $10, for $1 worth of plastic.

Hi Gang,

due to historical reasons that are no longer valid we currently have 1
color code assigned to all APs per tower. I'd like to move to 1 color
code per AP. However, this would require first gathering all the data
from the SMs as to which AP is their best, which is second best and
which is third best (we often have multiple APs aimed in almost the
same direction). We have hundreds of APs and thousands of SMs so
having a monkey log into each SM and log this data would probably take
a couple lifetimes haha.

Before I go hire someone to write some scripts and create a database
to get this project going, I was wondering if any of you have already
done this and if you have any software tools you'd be willing to

Also if anyone else is thinking of doing this would you want to go in

Well, technically, MagicMail is built on qmail, but one is a 'branded'
MagicMail solution and the other system is as old as the internet - almost.

MagicMail keeps the system updated, the others, well.

Re: [AFMUG] Wire label labelmaker recommendation

+1 on the Dymo labeler. I have two, the industrial vinyl is the best tape
I've ever used. They also have a heat shrink tubing you can print on. I've
used that also, so long as you can label the wire before you put a
connector on it. Lots of options for vertical wrap and horizontal wrap
labels, panels , etc. I still haven't used it to it's full potential.

What does everyone use, and what experience have you had with the

BTW, many of these cables are CAT5 sized. Some are bigger/smaller

BIND is your friend.

i'd also set iptables to only allow queries from your network.

Re: [AFMUG] Belkin routers going nuts

2014-10-07 Thread Kerry via Af

We are also experiencing the issue.
We found the routers are sending icmp to heartbeat.belkin.com. Even
though we could get a response here at our NOC, the belkins are not
receiving it. We added the ip for heartbeat.belkin.com as a loopback
address on a router on our network and it becomes
reachable to all the belkins on our network. Lo, and Behold! They all
work again.

Someone else said that replacing the DNS settings on the internal machine to
