I think that is what might happen in CA legalization. The sum of 
all the state & local taxes now amounts to about 35% (might be off 
slightly in my memory). But the point is, it leaves a lot of room 
for a black market. Sure, the retail price of pot is about 50% of 
what it was, but we shall see.

I used to make beer when I was a kid.  I grew pot too.  Easier to grow pot than 
it is to make beer.
In the 1970s pot was decriminalized in Oregon.  Everybody that wanted to smoke 
had grow lights in a closet somewhere.

Rather than buy bitcoin, I think I will buy some real estate situated for 
building a recreational pot store at some point in the future

At least the land will retain some value.

(This is Utah, that alone should tell you how likely that is to happen).
