Hi all.
Looks like the list has moved to a new home and some people who had
unsubscribed have been subscribed again. I have no complaints even though I
am one of them. 
It is easy to complain but it is very hard to manage such a vast list. I
want to say that Harish Kotian and whoever is assisting him in managing the
list, deserve many congratulations and gratitude for doing this work. 

Thank you Harish.
And may be someone can post guidelines for unsubscribing or managing their
email preferences.

Are you a trainer for persons with vision impairment? Are you looking
to upgrade your skills and teaching styles? Do you want to upgrade
your training programs and enhance the skills of your trainers?
Join us for the ‘Introduction to Teaching Computers for Visually
Impaired’ training the trainer (TOT) program. Learn about the training
techniques that have helped place persons with vision impairment in
183 jobs, in over 27 sectors, including banking and financial
services, retail, and information technology!

Introduction to the Workshop
One of the trainer said “Through this course, I learnt that only
technology was not enough. I understood how important it was to work
on the overall development of the candidate.”
“I thought being a trainer meant that I just go to class and teach,
but the course has helped me realize the importance of my
self-development as a trainer”
The TOT program aims at building the capacity of the trainers of
various institutions/NGOs/Schools to conduct the Computer,
Employability courses effectively.
The workshop will also give the trainers exposure on exploring and
understanding the learners, teaching methodologies, evaluation
techniques, self-learning tool, self-development tool, creating
training environment, training process, and assistive aids.

After the workshop, the trainers will be able to:
•   Prepare and use teaching aids to deliver effective computer training
to persons with vision impairment
•   Apply Enable India’s unique training methodology, and training
environment to make visually impaired candidates employable and ready
for jobs.

Around 300 persons with vision impairment have completed this course,
and over 30% of the trainees are working in various parts of rural
India as trainers of persons with vision impairment.
Workshop Details
Name of Workshop: ‘Introduction to Teaching Computers for Visually Impaired’
Duration: eleven days (including Sunday)
Start Date: July 24th
End Date: August 3rd
Venue: Madhya Pradesh Welfare Association for the Blind, #33, B/D,
Kila Maidan, Indore.
Landmark: Opp. Ramakrishna School, Near Fire Station, Tata Steel Square.
Connectivity: 4 – 5KMS
Fees: No course fees
Travel fare bared by participant
Facilities: 1. Hotel accommodation provided for out-station participants
2. Breakfast and dinner will be provided to out-station participants
3. Lunch will be provided for all candidates.

National IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities 2017



The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of
Empowerment of persons with Disabilities, Government of India is going
to organize a national competition for the youth with disabilities to
meet the global IT challenges in young generation of disabled at
National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra. It will be a two days
competitive program from July 20 –July 21, 2017 in which disabled
candidates of various categories from different parts of India will
participate to show their talent in the field of information
technology and e-learning.  The winner from each category may get a
chance to represent India in Global IT Challenge for Youth with
Disabilities 2017 in Vietnam in September, 2017. All expenses of which
will borne by the organizers.






  Eligibility for Candidates to participate in National IT Challenge
for Youth with Disabilities 2017

•Must be from the categories of visual, hearing, physical (locomotor)
and   Development/Intellectual disorder having Medical certificate
issued by competent authorities.

•Must be in age group of 13-19 for all categories.

•Must be able to work with Internet explorer web browser, MS Office
and Scratch programmes.

•Must be able to communicate in English.

Important Note: College and University going Youth with disabilities
are not allowed to participate   even if they are
falling in within the above age group.



You are requested to send the participants from your organization for
the event and send the application form

(see  attachment  please) along  with medical certificate issued by
competent authorities and age proof certificate

before July 7, 2017.
