Hi. I have this oven and it's perfectly adequate for simple every day
type of things like heating up a cup of coffee or making a quick hot
pocket. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone that does any kind of serious
microwave cooking however. I think the power is adequate for the size of
.9 cubic feet.

look into the " Andrea superbeam "cans" on Amazon. The microphones are
truly outstanding, and headset isn't too bad.
The microphones, (which are mounted inside the headset on each side)
definitely are binaural, outputting to a 1/8 inch stereo plug, and the
headphones have their own 1/8 inch plug. Also, there is a USB adapter which
you can plug into your computer to run them via team talk, (or other
applications to record your podcast, (which can be in full binaural stereo
for radio shows which blow everyone's mind since when I talk on them I am in
the center with all sound all around me, and without "bumping" microphone
sounds, etc.
The "andrea cans," are quite inexpensive because they just haven't caught
fire, I am sure, but they are sleepers, believe me, and I am sensitive to
correct phasing of binaural sound.
Trains, and boats and planes, :) come in either up, down, in front of behind
you or on either side just as you hear them.

2018-08-30 Thread Dane Trethowan
Well again, its down to choice and I don’t recommend products or say anything
against them regardless of my personal view, if people want this sort of thing
then its available and they should be encouraged to buy it regardless of what
my personal view is on the subject.
No, I myself wouldn’t buy one and nor do I need one but others might, its the
same with a talking this or a talking that, everyone has different situations
and that has to be paramount in everyone’s thinking when it comes to technology.

Yep most certainly!
I don't use all the features of VLC but here's what I have noticed.
VLC is faster than it was, loads faster and isn't sluggish at all as it
sometimes was in past versions.
Now VLC has a better ability to handle multiple files.
I have a playlist of over 2000 songs here - my favorites playlist - which
VLC loads pretty much instantly, in the past VLC would become stuck for a
minute or so before I could start navigating, make any adjustments to volume
or other effects etc.

Yes, definitely upgrade. It's fast and very responsive. There are certainly
no accessibility degredations; in fact all the on-screen buttons seem to
function properly, which wasn't always the case with JAWS previously, at
least. The advanced preferences screen is still a bit tricky, but if you
didn't really use that for much previously, you certainly won't have to
worry about it now.

[all-audio] Denon Introduces Heos Super Link

2018-08-30 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!

I've been talking about the Denon Heos products for some time, I bought a
Denon AVRX-3400H surround-sound receiver in May and a Denon Heos 10 HS2 for
the back room not long after that.

I bought a Denon Heos 1 HS2 a month ago and I'll talk about that speaker in
a separate eMail.

I'm going to purchase some Denon Heos 3 HS2 speakers for extra channels for
the AVRX-3400H receiver at some stage but one thing at a time.

The Denon Heos Super Link is something that is really going to transform my
audio systems throughout my home and I only found out about this excellent
piece of kit around half an hour ago.

The reviews haven't been all glowing about this microwave either. You
have to enter a password that is printed on the microwave door
somewhere, and the data base for frozen products seems to be limited.

From what I am able to ascertain, once you get the oven on the network,
you have to wake up the thing every time you want to use it to connect
it to your network by opening the oven door! As I think about that, I
guess they want to make sure you have food in the cavity so you don't
start an empty oven and burn it up.

I am to understand too, that you have to still press the start button
for the scan to function to start the oven and cook your food.

Somebody will by it and answer all of our questions.

I was hoping that it would fit over my shelf over the stove so I could
junk my worn out Hamilton Beech oven that has seen better days!

You've got to understand the potential for accidents and miss-haps with such a
product, I read an article about this quite some time ago and that's why
manufacturers up until now have been reluctant to give us voice activated

[all-audio] VLC 3 keeps saying it crashed

2018-08-30 Thread Peter Russillo
Hello, I downloaded VLC the latest version on my Windows 10 Pro laptop,
running System Access as my screen reader; each time I open any music
file to play it, I get the message Oops, VLC Media Player has crashed;
do you want to send a crash report to the developers?  When I hit the
Yes button, then the file starts playing as it should.  Any idea what
makes VLC act like it's crashed and how I ccan fix that problem short of
getting rid of VLC altogether?  Thanks.

Peter Russillo
