Yeah. I don't believe 5.666 comes with the CDDB plug-in. The others related to library and portables though, are still here. I don’t think uninstalling these will make Winamp load faster but I think it makes it less prone to crashing. As I already said the culprit I know about is the SQRSoft Crossfader. If you don’t have that then I’m sorry but I don’t know what the cause is. Hm, didn't he say he was not using any plugins? I know that the final build of Winamp did remove some no longer functional/redundant features. I use it, and no extra plugins at the moment, and the program works great so long as I create playlists using the shell options and not so much the playlist editor, which seems to disappear/crash winamp more than it used to in older Windows. No problems with load time on my Windows 10 machine though, even when I was running an older version. Not sure. This is not happening on my Windows 10 machine, running the last stable build of winamp, which is 5.666 or something. This is the version recommended for windows 10 users, but nevertheless, I did try older versions first and they did not load apreciably slower. All I can suggest is searching on the Internet/forums using google to see if anyone else has had the same problem.
