Specs: Pentium 4 3.40ghz w/HT 1gb of ram ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 (driver version:6.14.10.0241) 128mb dedicated video ram 80gb 7200rpm drive I was creating a slide show in impress. I added many animations (several per slide). I would check how the slide looked by selecting all of the animations on a slide and pressing the play button on the custom animations submenu. At times I would also check the entire slideshow by pressing f5 or selecting "slide show" from various locations. After a while the video corrupts. This occurs either with viewing a single slide alone (after multiple times). Or by playing the entire slide show alone (after multiple times). Or by a combination of both (after multiple times). Once the corruption happens and I try to run the slide show the screen doesn't show the complete image. Some of the slide show elements will appear in front of the impress program but the screen will not completely change. When a single slide is played using the method I mentioned earlier the effect is similar just on a smaller scale (just in the edit window). After this all of my video card fuctions seem corrupted. After a computer restart this is corrected. I originally suspected that my video card was damaged. However, I can run full opengl and high end video games without similar problems. I still suspect my video card (compatibility?) or maybe it is a driver issue. I have the updated drivers (as of a couple of weeks ago). I belive a better solution is an edit field combined with a drop down menu (like the font size field). This way the user would be able to make as many changes as they want without having to open and reopen the Zoom dialog. In the edit field a custom zoom value could be entered, and in the drop down menu there would be the choices available in the zoom dialog (Entire Page, Page Width, Optimal, 50%, 75%, 100%, 150%, and 200%). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I am not permitted to attach the document on which this occurs, because it contains proprietary information :-( The document is approx 100 pages long, and contains tables, TOCs, numerous Figures and OLE objects and has Track Changes turned on. The problem disappears if I remove everything except the Draw object to which I was trying to attach a cpation; however, the problem is completely reproducible in the document as it stands. Every time I try to attach a caption to this object, the CPU goes to 100% and stays there. I am running on a 2GHZ Athlon, and the CPU pegs at 100% for five minutes (at which point I gave up and killed the power). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Strange thing: I have following formula: int from{0} to{infinity} left( {sum from{n=0} to{infinity} a} over {b} right) da I can enter this formula in the separate OOoMath window, and it gets displayed correctly. If, however, I try to enter the very same formula in the formula editor in OOoWriter, all I get is a formula with a HUGE frame. (Shall I send a screenshot?) After editing, sometimes I cannot even see this formula at all. I have the impression there is a problem with rendering the scalable parentheses since the formula int from{0} to{infinity} ( {sum from{n=0} to{infinity} a} over {b} ) da is shown correctly. The very same problematic formula is displayed just fine in OOo1.1.3 (as I expected ...). Doing work in the formula editor I noticed I can hardly see some of the symbols, e.g. an infinity on an integral. Comparison with OOo1.1.3 showed it is much better readable there. I'll attach a screenshot that clearly shows the worsening. P.S. I though OOo2.0 shall be an improvement over 1.1.x? ;-) Note that while the editor is on, the formula looks OK, but when the editor gets closed it looks horrible. I'll give it a P3 since it drastically hinders working with the editor on formulae having small signs. Tested on WinXP_SP2 on OOo1.9.84 than vs. OOo1.1.3. If however I have a formula of two or more lines height, the integral sign looks "inappropriately" small. - There is currently no possibility to scale the integral sign. - Temporarily changing the font size for the integral only does not work either because of the complex syntax. Any other idea? I would prefere if there existed a "large integral" sign slighly larger than the current one. The new one should be appropiate for two-line formulae as an alternative to the usual one. (PS. Also I can't help noticing that the formula rendering looks much clearer in OOo1.1.3. The infinity sign is almost invisible for me. I'll open yet another issue if I don't find a duplicate for it.) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. All those replace texts that ended in a space acted as if they didn't exist. If I delete the space, and then toggle "Replace", from then on each one functions. So a workaround is to go through them all by hand and make the changes. If, however, I enter new test cases, some with and others without a space, they all work properly. So this problem seems to be related to finding preexisting definitions. It would be nice if there were a proper "import autocorrect" option similar to that provided for user dictionaries. Perhaps some error checking could be done when old definitions are imported. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. For e.g. in my case I was entering a full URL like this: jdbc:hsqldb:file:c://database However, this produced a connection error. After some significant time of seeking a solution I finally realised that the way OOo expects the URL to be entered is like this: hsqldb:file:c://database There is, to my knowledge, no explanation of this required in any OOo docs. The URL above is not strictly speaking the datasource URL as appears in most JDBC databases' documentation. OOo does not make it clear that the "jdbc:" part of the URL is not required. I suggest either the full URL including "jdbc:" be required to be entered or else the "jdbc:" part be displayed in a non-editable text box before the remainder of the URL is to be entered to alert the user that this part of the URL is already anticipated by OOo for JDBC databases. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The short string is replaced, however the remnant of longer text is still visible; i.e., the document display does not refresh properly. Minimizing the Writer window and restoring it will make the display render properly. Note that this only presents when you paste the short string in the middle of the longer string. The behavior is correct if you replace the entire line. To reproduce: Open a new Writer document. Type a long phrase on a single line. Type a shorter phrase or single word on a separate line. Copy the short phrase/word to the keyboard. Select text on the long phrase, beginning at some location to the right of the beginning of the line. Hit Ctrl-V or Edit Paste to replace the selected text with the clipboard contents. Observed behavior: The selected text is replaced but the display artifact of the original text still remains after the paste occurs.
