My observation is slightly different (this is using CTWM 3.5): when you press the right button (context menu) in OpenOffice, the menu is very briefly (sometimes too briefly to see) shown and then disappeared. I found it is unmapped and destroyed (not mapped below the main window). Also, while it might sound logical that this bug depends on CTWM's Auto Raise feature to be turned on, it is in fact NOT the case, and rather, this bug depends on CTWM's focus follows pointer mode (the native X-Windows mode). In fact, when the OpenOffice Window explicitly is given focus, the context menu is shown correctly. I believe that OpenOffice will misbehave, like it does with ctwm, with any window manager which uses X's focus follows pointer. The connection between document types and icons is done in the Info.plist file inside of the launcher. So in fact the launcher will be registered as an Editor for all document types supported by OOo. Now we need two icon sets, one for the old file formats that were supported in OOo1.x and another set for the new Oasis file format of OOo2.0. Actually, the icons were already included in the sysui project, so all I had to do was creating .icns files from the existing PNGs and creating an Info.plist that puts everything together. I also added all other supported file types like doc, xls, ppt, etc. so those files can directly be opened with OOo from the finder via Open With. To see the icons in action, save some files in different formats and of different types. If the icons don't show up you probably have another default application registered to handle this file type. But, because I'm prudent, and waiting to see it works, (changes can be made very quickly), I have commited Florian's create_OSX_dmg : at least a working solution is in place. The fact is we have not too much time to decide... Remember : the deadline to make macosx11 ready for QA is around tuesday. After, no RC for us. For language packs, you're right, they are actually problematic, not only for Mac OS X port. I'd suggest we open an issue targeted for 2.0.1 to solve this. Last, have fondu inside, is IMHO, a very good idea (Just don't forget to use Estsushi Kato patch for complex font) : since ages, Mac Users ask for the use of native fonts. With this, we're on the right way. One more time, have we still the time for 2.0 ? IMHO : 2.0.1 for fondu inclusion too. In Calc, if the user enters a date as 19/10/2005, it will by default be displayed as 19/10/48. So far so good. However, if the user now enters a date as 19/10/2548, it will be treated as the year 19/10/2548 in the Gregorian calendar, which is 19/10/3091 in the Buddhist era, and thus be displayed as 19/10/91. The overall result is that by default a Thai user is required all the time to mentally translate between dates in the Buddhist calendar and dates in the Gregorian calendar. Obviously this is not good. The Thai version of Excel has the same problem if a cell uses a Buddhist calendar date format. However, the problem is less serious because by default Excel uses a Gregorian calendar date format, and so the problem will only arise if the user manually chooses a Buddhist calendar date format. However, any reference management utility embedded in Writer that is shorter than one with internet database (such as PubMed, Genome, etc.) search tools would not attract scientific community to the Open Office suite. In the DDE client code referenced above, there is this line: ScByteSequenceToString::GetString( aLinkStr, rValue, DDE_TXT_ENCODING ); which probably gets the string from the DDE server. In this line, changing the encoding from DDE_TXT_ENCODING to gsl_getSystemTextEncoding() solved this problem at least for the Japanese encoding.
