Notice that the filter for OOo 1.1.x (simple_example_1.xsl) can be used also in 2.0 as a .sxw filter, when it is set as such from the filter settings and the document is a .sxw document. The encoding problem seems to occur also then. Notice also that the Test filter output window always displays the result in UTF-8, thus also ignoring the encoding. Maybe that's a small bug too, but not so important as it's just a test tool. The problem can be seen (also) when actually exporting the document. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Currently it seems that that problem does not appar using only 2.0, but if you have 1.1.4 content in your file, the problem happens. How I reproduced the bug creating testkit 'newtestkit20a.zip' Preparations: 1. In my My files folder I created folder e:\Rainer\Eigene Dateien\TEMP\oootestfiles\NewRel with subfolder 'goal' 2. I opened OOo 2.0 by clicking on the icon in My WIN Task Bar (with a link containing an OOo spreadsheed containing hyperlinks to frequently used OOo files) 3. I opened a new OOo WRITER document 'bingo.odt' and saved it in subfolder 'goal' 4. I created 'bingo.pdf' from 'bingo.odt' in subfolder 'goal' 5. I opened OOo 1.1.4 from WIN89 - Start - Programs - OOo1.1.4 - Spreadsheet 6. I created 'createdwith114.sxc' containing a hyperlink to 'bingo.pdf' saved it in folder 'NewRel' and closed 1.1.4 7. I created a new OOo 2.0 spreadsheet 'createdwith20.ods' saving it in folder 'NewRel' 8. I opened 'createdwith114.sxc' from 2.0 Menu File - Open 9. Marked cell with hyperlink and copied it to 'createdwith20.ods' 10. I closed all OOo The test 11. I opened 'createdwith20.ods' from WIN EXPLORER and saved it as 'createdwith20.xls' 12. closed all OOo 13. Copied folder to another harddisk 14. reopened 'createdwith20.ods' and 'createdwith20.xls' (does not matter how) 15. checked hyperlink: in 'createdwith20.ods' as expected to 'goal\bingo.pdf' (complete path: F:\Dateien\Temp\newtestkit20a\NewRel ...) in 'createdwith20.xls' wrong absolute hyperlink to bingo.pdf on the othe harddisk (complete: e:\Rainer\Eigene Dateien\TEMP\oootestfiles\NewRel\goal\bingo.pdf) Additional tests after again closing all OOo: 21) I opened OOo 2.0 by clicking on the icon in My WIN Task Bar (with a link containing an OOo spreadsheed containing hyperlinks to frequently used OOo files) 22) Opened from OOo2.0 Menu Files - Open e:\Rainer\Eigene Dateien\TEMP\oootestfiles\NewRel\createdwith20.ods saved as 'createdwith20openedfromopenfile.xls' 23) Opened again 'createdwith20.ods' from OOo2.0 Menu Files - Recent Files saved as 'createdwith20openedfromrecentfiles.xls' 24) Copied both files to F:\Dateien\Temp\newtestkit20a\NewRel\ 25) Checked both bingo-hyperlinks, both worked correctly relative Pls. check attached testkit. [graphics-issues] [Issue 57400] New - Bug in Ooo-2.0Calc: Graphic element “Legend“ is duplified with every „save/open“ cycle
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=57400 Issue #:|57400 Summary:|Bug in Ooo-2.0Calc: Graphic element “Legend“ is |duplified with every „save/open“ cycle Component:|Chart Version:|OOo 2.0 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|All Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P1 Subcomponent:|code Assigned to:|kla Reported by:|urs77 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Nov 5 08:00:35 -0800 2005 --- Detail: Addition of a graphical element „legend“ (German symbol list „Zeichnen“, element „Legende“) is ok in Ooo1.3Calc. No longer in Ooo-2.0Calc: each legend is duplicated, when the File is saved to disc and opened again. That will say: 1 legend leads to 2, 4, 8, 16, ... 2**n piled legends after n cycles saveFile/openFile (you just see the top symbol, but there are a lot of copies beneath). This bug is a data killer! So it has some priority. I converted a Ooo-1.3 .sxc file with about 50 legends to Ooo .ods format. After 10 days use in Ooo2.0 the file will no longer open. I had a .syc save copy. But my data additions of these 10 days are lost. The bug is repeatable with a simple new Ooo-2.0 Calc example file with only a few legends: newFile-enterSomeData-makeDiagram-enterSome LegendTexts-save-exit-open-anyChange-save-exit-open, then remove the upmost legend symbol, then the next, and the next . To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=57401 Issue #:|57401 Summary:|Array formula incompatibility with Excel Component:|Spreadsheet Version:|OOo 2.0 Platform:|All URL:| OS/Version:|All Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|code Assigned to:|spreadsheet Reported by:|alanmandel --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Nov 5 08:06:51 -0800 2005 --- In Excel, entering the array formula {=COUNTIF(range, range)} in a cell produces a 1 if there are no duplicate entries in range, and some value greater than 1 if there are duplicates. In Calc 2.0, the array formula {=COUNTIF(range, range)} cannot be entered into a single cell within Calc; it is intead spread over the number of cells in range. To reproduce, for example, putting [Q,R,Q,T,U] in cells A1 through A5, and the array formula {=countif(A1:A5;A1:A5)} in B1, produces: A B 1 | Q 0 2 | R 0 3 | Q 0 4 | T 0 5 | U 0 Whereas in Excel, it produces: A B 1 | Q 2 2 | R 3 | Q 4 | T 5 | U Note that if the Excel spreadsheet is created first and saved in Excel, OO 2.0 will open the spreadsheet with the array formula properly contained only in cell B1, like this, even though its computation is incorrect: A B 1 | Q 0 2 | R 3 | Q 4 | T 5 | U In my example above, the data in range is non-numeric. Interestingly, if the data in range is numeric, then a spreadsheet created in Excel with this COUNTIF formula will open and compute properly in oo 2.0. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When I do a fresh install of 680m138, with ONLY US-English installed and no language packs (no Finnish or French hyphenation), the word wrap bugs in US-English (when the document language is set to English and automatic hyphenation from paragraph settings). Hyphenation itself works just fine in English. The word wrap bug can be avoided by disabling automatic hyphenation or the hyphenator altogether, but then there's no (English) hyphenation. Note that there doesn't seem to be Finnish or French hyphenation included in the basic EN-US installation package, and neither in the language packs (rpms built by Pavel). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Steps to reproduce: 0) Open a new spreadsheet document 1) Open the Form-Controls-Toolbar and insert a button 2) Define the Action Jump to Document/URL and type #table-name in the box. 3) Do Link to the same table using a Text-Link (Insert|Hyperlink → same document → Choose target → Tables → table-name) 4) Leave edit mode and test the button the text-link: → both work 5) now save the document in ods format and check again: → text link still works, but Button just jaunches the warning Following the link will open[...] Continue Yes/no? Even when saying Yes, nothing happens. 6) Save the document in sxc format, close and reopen the sxc: → text link still works, but button fails silently. Now open the documents in OOo 1.1.5 ODS: Text link works Button gives annoying warning, but when confirming it works SXC: Text link works Button works without any confirmation dialog ## Fix: OOo must not display a confirmation dialog for intra document-hyperlinks (target in the same file) Basically: OOo must be able to follow hyperlinks launched by buttons the same way it handles text-hyperlinks that the user clicks. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 57405] New - some headings do not appear in navigator
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=57405 Issue #:|57405 Summary:|some headings do not appear in navigator Component:|Word processor Version:|OOo 2.0 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Windows 98 Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|formatting Assigned to:|mru Reported by:|drjojo --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Nov 5 09:58:10 -0800 2005 --- This is similar but I think not quite the same as issue 49754. I downloaded OOo 2.0 and converted OOo 1.1.3 Writer .sxw files into new .odt files. With some (but not all) of these files, I found that when I use the Navigator, some of the headings do not appear in the navigator window -- i.e., Heading 1 and Heading 2 do not appear; Heading 3, Heading 4, and Heading 5 do; Heading 6 does not. Question: I have an example file, but I can't see how to attach it. Instructions? (Please be patient with the noobie.) I previously had changed the formatting on all the heading styles, multiple times in multiple ways. However, I altered all the heading styles, not just the ones that do not appear, so I don't think that could be the problem. I recall trying to copy styles from one document to another; it is possible that I did this only for the headings that no longer show in some documents. Nothing I now do to change the style for the headings makes a difference. If I change the same text to a heading that normally shows up on the navigator, it shows up; if I change it back to a non-showing heading, it disappears from the navigator. This is intermittent, and I can't really replicate it on my end as I no longer have 1.1.3. It is not true for all files converted. It is not true for all headings. I had the same problem in 1.1.3, with at least some of the same headings (heading 6 was a continual problem). However, when I converted files that I recall having this problem with over to 2.0, I no longer have the problem with at least some of those documents. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 56744] Toolbar -- Accessability Problem - Visually Imparired Users
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=56744 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Nov 5 13:18:02 -0800 2005 --- This reply addresses your request for clarification. The blank space request addresses the issue of spacing and the difference between having things too close together to distinguish one from the other or spaced far enough apart such that a person who is afflicted with low vision or sighted but classified as legally blind vision can use the suite and word processor button bars. I would imagine that folks who have severe myopia that is not completely correctable with lenses have the same problem -- their vision is permanently blurred at screen distance and distinguishing one object from another on a graphical user interface is difficult. Here is a text representation of an example of what is needed: [BUTTON #1][VERTICAL LINE SEPARATOR][SPACE SEPARATOR][VERTICAL LINE SEPARATOR][BUTTON#2][SPACE SEPARATOR][BUTTON #3][VERTICAL LINE SEPARATOR] The button bar itself shows up as follows along the following lines: |BUTTON#1| |[BUTTON#2][BUTTON#3]| This was a capability that the earlier version of OOo did in fact contain. Thus, by using Large buttons and liberal use of intermittent spaces and vertical seperators on the button bars, the less sighted users could distinguish between one button and function and the next button/function. Ver 2.0 has done away with that capability and, hence, has made itself visually unusable to a goodly number of users who could use the earlier version. Thank you very mujch for your consideration; I haven't had the opportunity to check back in for a few days. This really is a critical issue to the visually handicapped; if they cannot use a word processor, it is, sadly, becoming a major difference between being able to get a paycheck and being on the public dole unnecessarily. If you need me to do so, I could manufacture a JPEG image for you; but really, all you need do is load up an earlier version of OOo and alter a button bar such that it employs the following custom visual features: 3D icons Separator Invisible Separator If you do this, you will see how the icons can be spaced apart at various distances, one from another. If that is still unclear, by all means, please let me know, and I shall try to create a graphical representation of two contrasting button bar visual representations. [sw-issues] [Issue 57408] New - US LAWYERS/ATTYS NEE D: Big Little Caps Initial Caps.
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=57408 Issue #:|57408 Summary:|US LAWYERS/ATTYS NEED: Big Little Caps Initial |Caps. Component:|Word processor Version:|1.0.0 Platform:|All URL:| OS/Version:|All Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|PATCH Priority:|P1 Subcomponent:|printing Assigned to:|mru Reported by:|nuncus --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Nov 5 13:35:07 -0800 2005 --- US LAWYERS/ATTORNEYS NEED: Big Little Caps Initial Caps. Your US lawyers (attorneys) and all writers of legal documents that will be filed in federal, state, and local courts MUST HAVE the following additions to Case: Small Caps (NOT ALL CAPS) (sometimes referred to incorrectly as Big Little Caps) Initial Caps These two additional case choices need to appear on the OOo Writer context menu just below the presently included Upper Case and Lower Case font styles/choices. REASON: In the US, courts require documents typed to specification, particularly as to legal citation of suthorities format. The formatting system for legal documents is contained in a book entitled A Uniform System of Citation. This book is commonly referred to among lawyers as The Blue Book. For legal citations to certain types of controlling authority, such as treatises and local statutory codes, Small Cap and Intial Cap formatting is REQUIRED. If the formatting is not adhered to, the court filing will be rejected out of hand. Please include Small Caps and Initial Caps in your very earliest Patch. Until we have those two case formattings, I'm afraid, we will be unable to use OOo to produce our legal documents. Legal documents, for lawyers generally includes any and all letters that lawyers write that make references to citations of legal authority. Lawyers/Attorneys are generally the largest descrete user base for word processors that contain the capability to produce court compliant legal documents. It is our understanding that there are other countries whose legal systems also require the use of Small Caps and Initial Caps on a regular basis; in addition, most US government document work also requires these two cases on a regular basis. Point of Clarification: There seems to be some confusion among the folks who have previously raised this issue as to what a small cap case is -- we note that one of the previous commentors seemed to not know the difference between Small Caps and ALL CAPS in a smaller font. An example of Small Caps is as follows: The word The T is capitalized and appears in capital case. The h is capitalized but is of the same height as the lower case. The e is capitalized but is of the same height as the lower case. The W is capitalized and appears in capital case. The o is capitalized but is of the same height as the lower case. The r is capitalized but is of the same height as the lower case. The d is capitalized but is of the same height as the lower case. The printer's marks that one uses to designate small caps to the printer, if the small caps are not already present in the OOo document would be The word with a double underline beneath it. Initial Caps would be a title or caption on a court document, governed by a style or code as follows: This Is a Title Caption Appearing on Appellant's Responsive Law Brief to The Appellee's Motion to Dismiss Filed on 10/05/05 Thank you, Nuncus - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
