To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=66204 User obr changed the following: What|Old value |New value Status|NEW |STARTED --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jun 8 23:12:54 -0700 2006 --- The backends are never active at the same time - remember that the first thing they do is to check whether the office runs in the corresponding desktop environment and returning empty references if not. So the performance penalty must be mostly due to the library loading itself (i.e. resolving symbols, loading dependant libraries etc.). BTW: would you mind sharing some numbers to get an impression about how much of a performance penalty we are talking about ? I am pretty much in favor of a shared proxy factory as described in #2, because both backends share the same config components anyway and #1 will require two additional libraries (one for gconfbe1, one for kdebe1). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This is a problem in scenarios where I do some build on one platform and then in parallel do a build --prepare:platform for some other platform---the build on the first platform starts to fail as its common tree is pruned. It would be better to have some form of control whether or not to delete common trees in this case. On a related note, it appears that build --prepare:platform1,platform2 (i.e., specifying multiple platforms, separated by comma) does not work. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. There are two parts to that: 1. Help files should show that text direction of a graphic rotates with graphic. This should come up under a search of text direction. 2. There needs to be an obvious way of a user telling the difference between a shape and a rotated shape, and documentation to this. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Back in slide 1 while in outline view *pasting* some plain text causes the entire line in slide 1 to swap to the new slide 2 formatting, but *typing* the same text doesn't. And pasting the plain text into the same location while in normal view doesn't cause a change of formatting while it does in outline view. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The last question is whether we want to enforce setting a password when encryption is enabled; we could do this by disabling the OK button as long as encryption is selected and no password is set or (perhaps better) bring up a query dialog if the user presses OK while encryption is enabled but no password set to inquire whether the user really wants to proceed.
