On the PC that I had problems with I had a multi-interface install, that is, I installed the English version first, then the Norwegian language pack. The PC that has problems uses Windows XP Professional with Dell Latitude D810 laptop, X86. I have tried different language/local settings. The attached screen shots show the settings that did not allow me to change the Y-Axis Major interval/Minor interval. They are not greyed out, but when I enter a number - no matter what the number is - I get an error: "Invalid number". As stated in my original post the default numbers when I take away the check mark for "automatic" are in the format .#, for example, that is, with a "period/point" and not a "comma" as is used in Norway. This problem exists ONLY with the multi-language installation (English- Norwegian), which I find valuable for my students since the help files are in English only, and many of the tutorials are in English. One of the important parts of the course curriculum is customer support, where students need to be able to explain how to use OpenOffice both in Norwegian and English. I have a file bewerbung.sdw which leads to a general input/output error when I try to open it with oowriter. I assume that it is a starwriter 5.0 document, but the file is older (from 2001). However, I looked at the file in binary mode, and it holds the string "StarWriter 5.0" closely at the file's start. I tried opening the file in two ways, namely by starting ooffice, and then selecting the file with the file selector, and by the following command line: oowriter bewerbung.sdw. In both cases I have to select a file format (the list of file formats, btw., is unsorted, which makes finding the right format difficult). I tried choosing various formats, including all of the formats that said something about starwriter 5.0. In all cases I get a general input/output error message, and the file is not read. I can't open OOo-document using UNC path (in task manager I see soffice starting and then crashing without error messages) from another application. The same error double-clicking the file on Windows Explorer on a network resource. If I map the network resource on a drive, it works. Unfortunately I must use the UNC path, because of different environment configuration on the PCs connected to the file server. Error in OOo configuration or bug not resolved in 2.0.3 version?
