[sw-issues] [Issue 76801] Bullets & Numbering toolba r does not remain docked
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=76801 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 3 03:51:57 + 2007 --- Hi cornouws, I have added a walk-through of the issue consisting of 5 screenshots (Toolbar1 - Toolbar5, see attachments). * Toolbar1: The initial state of the walkthrough is that the Bullets and Numbering toolbar is not selected. * Toolbar2: The user enters View > Toolbars > ... and selects the Bullets & Numbering toolbar. It is now selected and displayed in the top nav area above the edit area. * Toolbar3: When you move onto a bullet, the toolbar becomes ACTIVE and various icons within the toolbar become highlighted (i.e. no longer disabled). This is correct. * Toolbar 4: When you move off the bullet - I moved up a line in this case - the toolbar DISAPPEARS of its own accord. * Toolbar 5: A visit back to View > Toolbars > ... confirms that the system has deselected this toolbar. Now I'm not sure what you are suggesting the "by design" behaviour should be, but I can assure you the above sequence represents nothing short of UI design insanity! ;) When a user explicitly selects a toolbar in View > Toolbars > ..., it should remain displayed and active until the user de-selects it in the same way. This "static" selection by the user should override any context-sensitive (dynamic) toolbar activation. Most certainly, a toolbar that has been explicitly selected for display by the user should not be de-selected by the system. Otherwise we have nothing more than an ongoing tussle between man and machine! ;) Hope these screenshots further clarify the issue. [sc-issues] [Issue 76881] Column width changed on sw itching printer type and saving as xls
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=76881 Issue #|76881 Summary|Column width changed on switching printer type and sav |ing as xls Component|Spreadsheet Version|OOo 2.2 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|Windows XP Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|formatting Assigned to|spreadsheet Reported by|tkj --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 3 02:34:49 + 2007 --- Column width changed when spreadsheet of type xls is printed to a non-default printer that is not the same type as the default (e.g. default of matrix, printer used laserjet). This happens in the background and is only seen if the file is saved and re-open. Environment: Hardware : Windows XP pc Printer Epson EPL6100L (LaserJet) HP Laserjet 1200 (Laserjet) Wincor Nixdorf teller printer (Matrix) *** default printer Epson LQ matrix printer Software : Openoffice. No Microsoft office is installed. Detail steps Using only OO calc - create a spreadsheet with one column width 2" - save as file aa type xls. - open spreadsheet aa.xls and check column (it will show 2") - print spreadsheet using default printer (Wincor matrix printer) - check column width (it will show 2") - save as aa1.xls - open spreadsheet aa1.xls, column will show 2" width - send for printing to Epson laserjet - check column and it will show 2" - save as aa2.xls - check column width and it will show 2" - close aa2.xls - open aa2.xls and column width will NOT show 2". This happens on version 2.0.2, 2.0.3, 2.2 and Staroffice 8. The if the spreadsheet is saved as native ods this behavior is not displayed. This happens as long the default printer and the output printer is different (laserjet to matrix or matrix to laserjet). Switching between same type of printer (laserjet or matrix) does not have this behavior. Transporting the file from one PC having default matrix to another PC having default Laserjet also changes the column width. I use a new file name for testing. I cannot save a file without changes to the same file name. It will happen if you save it after changing and printing to a non-default printer of a different type. Protecting/locking/passwording everything does not help. It will still happen as long as the file is printed to another type of printer and saved. I do not have any other type to try. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This behaviour occurs when pressing and holding the mousepointer over the scrollbox of the vertical scroll field, then moving the scrollbox. Moving the scrollbox this way does not make the characterfield at the left move with the movement. Only when the mouse is released the field changes to match the result of the scrollbox movement. As a user I expect the field to move instantly with the movement of the scrollbox. I expect this for several reasons. - Scrolling is done to find a character by view, not just scrolling. The current way makes searching while viewing uneasy and inaccurate. - Scrolling without direct view on the result of the action contradicts the purpose of scrolling with the scrollbox. Further, to me the current functioning of delayed action has no purpose and is needless time consuming. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Not only could that avoid the erroneous auto-capitalisation, it could mark the preceding word as an Abbreviation style (A "word" style? see issue# 44879) so that all abbreviations could later be italicised, for example, or listed in a glossary (for expansions to be added). Powerpoint also does that. for example if i text at 30, 20, 14 pts and I select it and press increase then all the size increase to the next available pt size typically 32,24,16 (in this case). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It is not issue75199, here are only 9 columns. The line break is CR but the same error is, if the line break is CR LF. The error seems to be in the csv import, because you have the same problem, if you open the file in writer, copy it and paste it as "unformated text", which brings up the csv dialog. You can open the file without problems in Base, with all rows. Then you can copy the base-table and insert it in Calc, both as RTF or as HTML will work. Then all rows are there. Start a blank Calc document 2. Insert a note 3. Type enough text (about 20 characters) to cause line wrapping. Actual results: Just after the line wrapping, the first line becomes blank! Expected results: The text stays visible. Comments: I used Calc notes before, so I am pretty sure this is a regression in or near OOo version 2.2. I tested Windows XP OOo 2.2 and Linux OOo 2.2. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When I run the slide show in MS Powerpoint everything works fine. After 15-20 seconds it automatically goes from slide to slide. And it automatically runs any animations on each slide with the programmed timing. However there is one slide with a Custom Path animation that does not work. In my test .ppt file this is slide 3. There is a picture of the American River and a picture of a raft and the animation is supposed to move the raft down the river. I don't see any way to make it work. The file is bigger than 1 MB so I can not upload it into this bug database. However, if you attach a comment to this bug report it will e-mail me, and I will send in the response e-mail instructions for how to download the file (I use sendthisfile.com). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
