[sw-issues] [Issue 11901] Selecting a paragraph and end of paragraph marker
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=11901 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri May 18 06:31:47 + 2007 --- Please implement paragraph selection as in Wordpad. Double-click in the margin to select the entire paragraph including the paragraph marker. Shift-click to extend the selection. Control click to select all (entire document). Single-click to select a line (nearest sentence might be more useful). Already familiar to many users, intuitive, and easy to use. (Quadruple click is difficult and quickly tiring if used repeatedly). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I already expressed my concerns about a package that is experimental and unchanged since 2003 but the actual code inside is trivial. So installing Filesys::CygwinPaths from CPAN should solve this. The scroll bar then disappeared and he page area could not be recovered, without closing and reopening the report. In both case I saved the report in that state and upon reopening the layout was un-affected. In the first instance the font for the text box in the top level group header was increased, such that the contents did not render correctly when the report preview was run. When I went to expand the size of the text box I went to far upwards with the mouse and the page area scrolled off the bottom of the screen. In the second instance I was attempting to align all the controls int he detail area, lassoing from right to left and upwards. Again I went a tad to far to the left and the whole page slid off to the right. Attempts to force it to happen again have been in vain. I am attaching a screen shot of the designer window just after the second time. Again, the report can be saved and there seems to be no loss to the layout upon re-opening. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To handle your case you lets the user define two "keyboards" with the same physical layout but one associated with the EN_US language and the other with German. So when the switch happens you change the langage mode but not the physical layout itself (and yes that means you have to press the switch key just to to inform the app you changed language even if you don't need the physical langage switch) That's how it works under windows now. That's the only sane way to have it work accross apps (please do not even consider an OO.o-specific switcher) Under UNIX/Linux you probably need to talk with the xorg guys to add a langage info in addition to layout info in xkb, or ask svu to have the GNOME keyboard switcher emit a d-bus langage notification - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [www-issues] [Issue 1035] language setting for typed text should be set to current input locale (ke yboard setting)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=1035 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 17 18:38:59 + 2007 --- In my example of writing english and german documents with the same keyboard no tricky configuration could find out which language my document should have. That's something I have to select manually. So we have two concurrent ways to determine the document language: automatically and manually. We must find the best way to resolve this concurrency. "Best" means best for the users and best for the deployment/configuration. Thanks for your suggestion. We will consider it as one of the possible options to see which one is the "best" as described above. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 48409] It would be nice to save o r export to common wiki formats
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=48409 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 17 18:27:26 + 2007 --- Well, a first test didn't take very long. And the results are not very attractive. I took a simple document that consists of text, lists, some hyperlinks and a table. Result of the conversion: many of the list didn't make it, the table is gone and all(!) hyperlinks. Also non-ascii characters (like custom quotes) didn't convert correctly. That was what I spotted in two minutes of review. All in all the transformation doesn't look usable to me. Especially losing all hyperlinks is a disaster. I don't know if anyone is willing to fix the transformation. In case not we should set the issue type back to "FEATURE". - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 3403] Integration of Latex into O Oo as formula editor possible?

It's totally unclear to me whether the votes assigned to this issue really target this topic or if they have been given to get LATEX export what basically is done now. We already have it for asian and CTL languages. It's clear that the feature is also very useful for languages like russian or greek where the assigned keyboard layout contains totally different characters and symbols than the english one. This is different to some western languages like e.g. german. I for myself never switch to an english keyboard to write english documents. The german keyboard is well suited for them and switching it would just confuse my fingers. So automatically switching the document language to "german" just because I have the german keyboard layout would be annoying for me. Means: it must be possible to turn this feature off. The question is: what should be the default? Having a language specific default for a configuration setting is something we should avoid so perhaps the default should be "on" in all cases. I think the competition does the same. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
