[sc-issues] [Issue 11145] empty cells not considered in sort / cannot change order
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=11145 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 26 05:11:13 + 2007 --- Don't know if commenting/voting on a closed issue will have any effect however, here goes. fst says null cell has nothing to sort so isn't sorted, appears last. I would say before there can be anything there is nothing. From sort order perspective nothing should therefore preceed any value. >From a practical point of view there are instances where users would want to sort nulls first. e.g. sheet with columns 'date created', 'date resolved', 'action requested' If user wishes to keep unresolved requests at top of sheet by ordering on 'date resolved'+'date created'+'action requested' it doesn't work. For most users it would be natural to want to order rows like this. Problem can be defeated with non-intuitive step of putting a space in 'date resolved' column. That though makes the worksheet very hard to maintain because it isn't possible to determine if cell has space entered or is null just by looking at it. Plus user must remember to put spaces in otherwise empty cells to make sort occur in desired fashion. My votes are for nulls to be sorted either before or after other values based on a global setting in tools|options. They are already sorted after this would enable the option of sorting them before as well. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. For the continuation constants the answer depends on what will happen in the future. Conceptually this design is very clean and useful, if it will ever be used cannot be decided now (IMHO). To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=82989 Issue #|82989 Summary|Header and bulleted unexpected gains blue & underline |formatting while typing at beginning of line Component|Word processor Version|OOo 2.3.0 RC1 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Windows XP Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|formatting Assigned to|mru Reported by|al1en --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 26 01:08:58 + 2007 --- Repro Steps: 1. Create a document with both headers and bulleted text. 2. Place the cursor in front of the first character in either a header or bullet. 3. Type any character. Observed Result: The entire line (including the newly typed character) will change color to blue and will be underlined. It looks like the default formatting for a hyperlink. This doesn't happen to every header or bullet point. I have many of them in my document and it occurs for some, but not others. Closing and reopening the document has no effect, not does restarting Writer. Once this bug occurs it is a permanent part of the doc. I'm not sure specifically what I did to make this bug appear initially. The document it shows up in was originally created using version 2.2, where it doesn't seem to appear. I have a minimal odt that contains the problem, but I don't see any way to attach it to this submission. :P - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=82972 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Oct 25 21:18:22 + 2007 --- I don`t think there is 64-bit linux binary available there on http://download.openoffice.org... :( Maybe I should compile it myself from source? I would like to test OpenOffice on fglrx from 7.10 if I found official (.deb) 64-bit binary on Openoffice.org. I can just Add that Ooo works with version of fglrx from ATI site (8.40.4) So the problem is narrowed to fglrx driver in U/K/Xubuntu 7.10. I also see that there is at least one more application (totem) that starts working again after changing fglrx: not confermed yet but it now seems more that fglrx is problem in the first place. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When designing menus, please ensure that no two commands within the same menu have the same keyboard hotkey. For example, in the "File" menu: * "Export as PDF" and "Send" both have "D" (suggest changing former to F) * "Export" and "Templates" both have "T" (suggest changing former to E) * "Digital Signatures" and "Printer Settings" both have "R" (gotta change something else here; suggest changing "Templates" to M and using T for one of these) Please go through all the other menus similarly and fix all clashing hotkeys (e.g. File=>Send submenu has clash, Edit menu has clash, View=>Toolbars submenu even has a double-clash...) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Steps to reproduce: * Press Alt+F. "File" menu opens. Let go of Alt. * Press Alt+W. Expected behaviour: "File" menu closes, "Window" menu opens. Actual behaviour: "File" => "Wizards" submenu opens. The reason for the behaviour is that when the Alt key is pressed DOWN, OpenOffice leaves the menu open. Correct behaviour is for it to disappear. OpenOffice incorrectly waits for the Alt Key UP event before it disappears the menu. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Default, Grayscale, Black & White. Black & White should have a descriptor beside it that says "No background printed" or something to that effect. Most people do not realize that Black and White will remove the background when printing. Removing the background is a good thing but it took forever to realize that Black and white quality was what I was looking for. Since I had a black background I simply thought it would print that black background so I never chose it. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sc-issues] [Issue 81349] sorting of rows goes wrong when references are present
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=81349 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Oct 25 15:41:27 + 2007 --- May I suggest the following. I agree that the solution is not simple but first things an open source party should do is - admit that there is an error and - signal the user that something can go wrong second working on the solution. Well I like the get to the result answer. First - keep track of all the changes in rows/columns and do the sorting (looks like current method) [at least if you signal that there is a problem] This can be hardly a memory problem. - second check all the cells and make (on a base of changes) correct references. Talking about millions of transactions is a theoretical possibility and I donot think that that will occur in practice Think of what you can do better than Microsoft!! [graphics-issues] [Issue 44768] Too complicated to edit ch art regression (trendlines)

In CWS chart17 there are two improvements: 1. You can add a trendline with a context menu item of the data series, which is a linear regression. Changing its type still works via the object properties of the data series, which is indeed sub-optimal. Problem here is that the current controls contain the different types as well as "none", which would not make much sense for the properties of the curve itself. 2. You can delete a regression curve with the delete key. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. OS: Xubuntu Gutsy 7.10 amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: 2.6.22.14-default CPU: AMD Athlon dual-core MB/GPU: Amd 690G MB , integrated ATI X1250 graphics As far as i see, gutsy(7.10) uses fglrx version 8.37.6 . Open office does start when other X server (driver) is used: -when I put xgl server and compiz or when I use VESA (default vga) server, Ooo works. But when I use fglrx as usual for 2D desktop, Open Office will not start. I found similar bugs describing this issue on two more places: http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=708 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org-amd64/+bug/155372 And one reported for version 2.2.1 of OpenOffice (I have 2.3 on Xbuntu 7.10) http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=82605 - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
