A smaller issue, but an issue anyway, is that aliasing: during the animation, charactes are "rough" and after the animation, the antialiasing is applied making the characters smooth. I do not see the issue on an OpenOffice 2.4.0, running from a citrix server on a Windows platform. However, that is 2.4.0. I only noticed this issue recently. I'll try to describe the issue more thoroughly, though. Suppose that you have a cell characterised by a given width and that you want to write text into it. Also suppose that the text/font combination that you use makes a line fit almost exactly into a line, but not really. So that in the end, a word of the line goes on the next line. The algorithm computing the cell height at some rare times seems to get this wrong. The result is that the cell is 1 line too short, as if the line that got broken (and that would not get broken without the use printer metrics setup) was not broken at all. At times also the opposite comes out. The cell is auto-fitted to be one line too tall and remains with some empty vertical space. Of course this is a much smaller issue since the cell remains perfectly readable in this case. This means i am not from the current so-called "thumb generation" that gains years of "text editing experience" with mobile phones, typing with one thumb only. But to have the same "feel" when using OOo compared to typing on a mobile phone might well be a gain for "the next generation". So I confirm this Feature. As a WORKAROUND, one may stress the implemented WordCompletion feature: Set the WordCompletion minimal word length to 5 (current minimum) and the number of words to 1 (current maximum). When starting the office, "load a custom dictionary". This would be a file that contains a personal selection of "likely-to-be-used" words of 5 or more letters. Now WordCompletion makes proposals after the third typed letter of every word.
