The problem with the html you cite is not that margin-bottom isn't working - it
is. However, as margin-top is not defined, default spacing is used. Add

problem might be that margin-top is not being generated for the paragraphs
concerned. However, in your .odt attachment it is the default paragraph which
has margins set to 0, whereas I think the original may have been using multiple
styles to generate the html example you included at the beginning.

i have a suggestion: OOo should be able to handle more than 1 acor.dat file for 
the same language.

actually if you saturate the acor_it-IT.dat you cannot enter more italian 
autocorrection. the only way to do it is to use the workaround method i told 
before using a universal acor_.dat for all languages.

however once you have saturated that file you are again at the starting point.

my suggestion is that OOo should be able to handle more acor.dat files for the 
same language.

i.e. acor_it-IT1.dat , acor_it-IT3.dat , acor_it-IT4.dat etc. etc.
each one can contain 65535 entries

this is just like with dictionaries in which you have a 2000 word limit. once 
you fill the first standard.dic you cannot enter new words inside it but you 
can start a standard2.dic or a standard3.dic.

autocorrect should work the same way.
once you reach the 65535 limit a warning should alert that the file is full 
(data loss crash should be prevented) and a new acor.dat file with proper 
language should be started.

The difference to dictionaries is that there the size has direct influence on
the performance as the spell checking searches in these dictionaries while

I have a list constructed by using 'heading7' format. Why? Because native list
handling and numbering is still barely usable.

The list displays well with 5 entries, but when I add a 6th, the space between
the paragraph number and the paragraph text is lost. Subsequent entries have the
correct spacing.

I made a comment on this back in 2005, and since then it seems that counters
have been added, but I also wish to add that Outline Numbering is not the only
problem. I have recently been battling with lists and sub-lists and see the same
confusion and duplicated behaviours that we used to have with headings --
resulting in lists that disappear, reapper, get numbered badly etc. For the most
part this is not OOs fault, it is the natural result of copying a UI from a
really badly designed work processor (Word).

Building on what is already in OO, it would be great to see the following:

 - extend 'Number Range' fields to have an optional parent 'Number Range'.
Incrementing the parent would reset the child.

 - extend paragraph styles to include a 'Numbering Field' for numbering that
behaves like 'Outline Numbering' does now (perhaps a checkbox for 'Include in
Outline'). Allow me to specify the field to use (obviosly). Allow me to apply a
numbering format to this number from within the paragrap style. For extra marks,
disallow me from deleting this number without manually changing the paragraph 
style.

With these two features, I will be able to:

 - create 'List Outer' and 'List Inner' (or List1, List2 etc) paragraph styles
that automatically behave as most people would expect.

 - create a 'Heading2Important' style (based on 'Heading2') which behaves
*excaly* like 'heading2', including sharing the same numbering levels etc, *and*
which appears in the outline at the same level as 'heading2', but which has
different paragraph formatting (eg. red, bold, boxed or whatever).

 - create a 'Chapter' format that actually works as one would expect 'above'
heading1.

No idea how much work this all involves, but it seems that with 3.0 we are 
close.

i understand, however i noticed the the performance of manual insertion of 
corrections in the autocorrect replacement table with  the ctrl + h hotkey is 
affected by the acod.dat file size.

if you have few entries in it the replacement table opens in a few seconds but 
the more entries you put inside it the opening becomes slower and slower.

with my previous acor.dat file it took 15 minutes to access the replacement 
table after clicking ctrl+h. that was due to its enornous amount of entries.

i was thinkg that using more acor.dat files as i suggested could solve also 
this issue.

if you indeed remove the 65353 limit, having more entries in a single acor.dat 
file  (i.e. 75000, 9. etc) will make the process even slower.

Okay I try. I use the German version so I can't tell you the options in 
English, I only can translate them.

So what I did was editing an existing table. I opend Base, opend my Projekt and 
went to tables. There is my existing table. On a right click I can choose 
bearbeiten (edit). Now the same dialog opens as in creating a new table.

I've got 7 fields in my table and added an 8th. So far no problem.
But I don't want the new field at the end. So I thought I can move it arround 
but there is no option for that. So I decidet to use cut and past like in 
Command+X and Command+V.
If you make a right click on a field the first option you get is 
aussschneiden (Cut out). If I choose this option base crashes.

Is this clear enough? I don't know how I can tell you more.

Confirmed with OOo 3.0.0 Build 9358

Mac OS X 10.5.5 all Security Updates Mac Mini Core Duo 1.83GHz Intel Processor.

Crash happens whenver you try to cut a column, equal if you create a new
database or use an existing one. 

This is a regression to OOo 2.4.1 which does as expected.

This is something that I find very useful in Word and would really like to see
in OOo Writer. As an editor I often work with documents that contain
bibliographies created in something like Endnote, and I need to unlink all the
fields to make them normal text. It is an issue not just for mailmerge fields
but for all fields.

I am attaching a simple document containing some fields to illustrate what is
needed. I have voted for this issue. Like jwt, the EditLinks menu item is
greyed out on this document, so I haven't been able to see how it could be used

I have reviewed all patches.
1) cppunit
First part of the patch is already appeared in trunk. Second part of the patch 
may not be needed because the directory is not build on unix platforms.

2) fpicker
The patch is obsolete. Already in trunk.

3) libxslt
The change in configure flags is acceptable. Changing predeliver copy source of 
xsltproc.exe seems to be an error. The new source is just a wrapper and does 
not work if copied outside of the build tree.

4) openssl
The module can be build with this patch but better solution is to use the same 
library name as pure mingw case and MSVC. Unless, we have to modify 
solenv/inc/libs.mk and packaging.

5) sal
Fine. I had looked over the error.

6) solenv
Fine.

7) testshl2
The patch is obsolete. Already in trunk.

I will attach updated patches for 1) cppunit, 3) libxslt and 4) openssl.

And a better way to apply a special font to all cells is to use styles, in this
case the default style.

Open a new writer document and try to insert a spreadsheet as an OLE Object. 
The following error message will show up:

Object OpenOffice.org 3.0 Spreadsheet could not be inserted.

I have an already existing Writer document with two spreadsheet embedded.
Whenever I click on one of them, I get General Error.  I cannot access the
data within my document anymore, though the spreadsheet does show up normally.

It worked with OO3 Dev.  This bug is very disabilitating.

I could not complete full build because stl library abi incompatibility. -fpcc-
struct-return is not default in mingw but as it is needed to make bridge work, 
it has to be specified for OOo build.

I am facing problem in helpcontent2 and the trouble with HelpLinker seems to be 
caused by this problem.

I am now rebuilding libstdc++ and is going to test it.

No problem so far except this one.

The automatic conversion of the function ADRESS from old syntax to new syntax
does not recognize, if conversion has already been done and stored.

Try this:

(1) New spreadsheet document
(2) Enter =ADDRESS(1;1;1;1;Sheet1) in any cell
(3) This results in: Sheet1.$A$1
(4) Save document as SXC
(5) Close and reopen document
(6) Formula has been changed to: =ADDRESS(1;1;1;1;1;Sheet1)
(7) This results in: Err:504

The problem is caused by the automatic conversion of the function ADRESS from
old syntax to new syntax.

Old syntax: ADDRESS(Row; Column; Abs; Sheet)
New syntax: ADDRESS(Row; Column; Abs; A1; Sheet)

Parameter A1 has been added to the new syntax for interoperation with
competitor´s spreadsheet and for introduction of R1C1-references, that is 
coming up.

When opening documents, Calc must recognize old syntax an convert it to new
syntax by adding the additional parameter. However, when the formula already has
been stored with new syntax, no additional parameter must be added.

Works fine as long as you stick to ODF. But when opening SXC, Calc would add an
additional parameter to the function, every time you open the document. By
opening, saving and reopening an SXC document 10 times you will get:

=ADDRESS(1;1;1;1;1;1;1;1;1;1;1;1;1;1;Sheet1)

This brakes the possibility to use SXC file format with OOo 3.0. Was no problem
with 2.4.1 -- regression.

Moreover: Document can not be used even by OOo 3.0, when it has been saved as

Unfortunatly, nothing has changed: firefox and epiphany both show the paragraphs
with line some spacing.

In the .odt, however, both paragraphs formatting and standard style formatting
(which the paragraphs have) have space before and space after set to 0. Both
settings should be included in the html generated code .

When typing a formula, the vertical scrollbar will not appear or resize for the
markup until the zoom is changed.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a new formula.
2. Type 2 over 2 over 2 over 2.
3. Click Show All.
4. Add over 2 over 2 over 2 to the formula.
5. Notice how it is impossible to view the lower 2s unless the zoom is changed.
 Making the window smaller will create a scrollbar, but it will only scroll
through the part of the window that was visible before the resize.

This problem also exists in OO.o 2.1 on Linux.

This worked fine in version 2.4.

The problem seems to be only when you select the entire page. I used a large (
22,000 rows ) data pilot by selecting only the involved range. The reult was
lightining fast.
