Either way, when I save an impress presentation as .ppt file, I exit out application, open file saved as .ppt again, text is completely messed up. Some uncorrectable changes - random spaces between lines that cannot be reduced (for example, font was set to Arial 26, after saving as .ppt, resulting file had a blinking cursor of much bigger size like 60 ot 72 pts that cannot be changed to 26) - character color is black when saving the file, when the file is reopened in impress as .ppt, some characters are white. This is most common when using bullets and indentation. I won't reply back here as I forgot the username and pass for my email and for my openoffice account. When you use a rotation with 45 degree for example, the 'hot spot' area is at the upper end of the text. Move the mouse a little bit around and you will find it. Don’t mention the mechanics. You can use whatever (integer) unit you please internally (and perhaps you will change that in a few decades time), but whatever the user inputs has to stay the same. The most you may do is adding and removing leading and trailing zeros, perhaps even shifting the dot / comma for decimal, i.e. metric units. To achieve that you will have to save the input value and then convert it to the format used internally (for display purposes), not convert the input value and then save it. Actually, what really is needed is an input widget that includes value and unit, converting the number if another unit is chosen, but saving the data in the form as it were when the digit was changed last by the user. PS: The internal unit should always have been micrometers. 1 cm = 1 µm 1 mm = 1000 µm 1 cc = 4500 µm 1 dd = 375 µm 1 q = 250 µm 1 in = 25400 µm 1 pc = 4233.(3) µm = 4233 µm (-0.008%), if integers had to be used for some reason 1 pt = 352.(7) µm = 353 µm (+0.063%) 1 twip = 17.63(8) µm = 18 µm (+2.047%) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I've been there. I'm sorry, I'm neither an OO programmer no a SA programmer, I have no idea why the OO xls or doc formats can't be read by various applications, and neither did anyone at SimplyAccounting. All we know is that SA uses MySQL, and it imports and exports via MS xls format. Here's what SA has to say: MySQL requires Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, or Vista. Tech support at SA says that SA requires MS Excel xls for import files (it also exports xls files), and that OO xls files won't work. In some particular instances, when the merge ouput is an ODF document, the formatting of tab characters in the source document can override the formatting of adjacent fields, giving them incorrect formatting. This can be worked around by adjusting the formatting of the tab characters, but the workaround is not obvious because the formatting of the tab characters is not visible. See the attached document for an example. Note: * Merge in place (Data to Fields) or direct to the printer, work correctly. Only ODF output is affected. * The example uses large bold tabs in a different font just to make the problem more visible. The same thing can occur in the more usual case where the tabs are default-formatted and the fields have special formatting: the fields are ouput with default formatting instead. * See http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7t=14290 for a real-world example. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Steps: 1. Copy number with some leading blanks at Writer document 2. Paste into the Calc document cell - format cell is number general, but it is aligned to the left as text 3. Calculate SQRT(number), it is = 0 4. Try to change format cell to any other format, such as percent, currency, scientific... - nothing changes, format is really text and not changeable. This problem can be resolved by using Edit Pste Special Unformatted text. In addition: 1. Format cells is Number General by default and doesn't shange when you input text 2. It's impossible to input number with leading blanks - Calc converses it in real number. In the similar mannar it converses 1.00E+003 into scientific and 2009-01-01 into date. 3. I tried to copy a number with leading blanks from different sources, the results are: Writer - text in not changeable format MS Word - number Notepad - number Direct input - number MS Excel Text format - text in not changeable format - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Closing this bug because OOo documents its requirements are too high is missing the point. This is a valid issue and will cause OOo to be displaced from the desktop in time. Netbooks are selling very well and are expected to displace a large chunk of laptop sales. Perhaps supporting the eeepc 800x480 resolution is too hard to do but most newer netbooks still only have 1024x576 (or 1024x600) resolution. Of course you say No and it then leaves the values as they are, not updating them, but not removing them either. * OpenOffice.org sees that the cell values are linked and prompts you to update. Of course you say No and it then deletes the cells, leaving empty cells instead of the existing values. This is why you end-up with empty cells and #DIV/0! errors. So far, so good. When I define the print area to be $A$1:$A$3;$C$1:$C$3, then the preview puts column A on a first page and column C on a second one (same problem when exporting to PDF or printing) --- I would have expected both columns to be on the same page. -- Yes, I verified this occurs on the official version of OOo as well. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. On Sheet2 you reference a cell on Sheet1 eg =Sheet1.$A$2 and then make a copy of Sheet2 after Sheet3 eg Sheet2_2 it will update the reference on Sheet2_2 to say =Sheet2.$A$2 instead of staying as =Sheet1.$A$2. You can use =$Sheet1.$A$2 to work around this issue but Excel doesn't require this so it would be good to use similar conventions as they do. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
