First of all, my configuration is: * Asus F9E laptop Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390 runnin Ubuntu 8.10 with Xfce4.6.1 * Go-oo 3.1 I've made a presentation with Go-oo 3.0.1 and everything went right. The same opened with Go-oo 3.1 makes Impress freeze. This is my command's sequence: I create an empty presentation, then I insert a video file, but here something goes bad. Two options: 1) Impress opens a new window with the clip, then freezes 2) Impress shows an icon inside the slide, like the one I see when import a sound file: then, when I click on this icon, see 1) point. About my .avi file: Codec DIVX, Resolution 720x576, frame rate 25.00 , no audio. Other info: Impress loads correctly mp3 files. I've tried to insert only .avi and mpg files. I can attach a shot of my monitor, because I believe that something freezes the window manager too (not X, because the mouse pointer works. Could be an xfwm4-related problem?) The collate setting is not saved with documents (neither is the number of copies, for example). As long as it is not saved with the document, then remembering the last setting used will not break (interfere) with anything else. As far as using tools-options: I first proposed that we use tools-options-print by adding a selection for collate. But that was shot down by pl (read the 5th message from the top). I see the advantage and disadvantage of both approaches. It seems the most logical place to address it would be in tools-options. But the *easiest* (and fastest) way to address the problem is by just having the print dialog remember the last used setting; storing that state in some config file. The latter approach requires zero UI changes/testing. More importantly, pl has supposedly already added code for it to remember the state in the print dialog, so it is probably moot now to worry about it. I will just be happy if this is fixed in the next release- whatever form the fix takes. In the test case that I have uploaded, after having selected unprotected cell C5, use the SHIFT+TAB key combination to tab backward. That's part of the reason it's so frustrating. I have no idea of Unix behavior, nor do our users. For our users it is most definitely a defect, and I'm the one they complain to. We had this problem in version 3.0 already, but only in the Novell edition, not in the vanilla edition. I tested both. That's why I reported a bug with Novell, which I assume is the one tml mentioned here. We still have this problem in 3.1 Novell edition; I haven't tested 3.1 vanilla edition.
