Create new presentation without frills 2. In Drawing Toolbar click button From File to insert picture from file 3. Select .png from sample kit and insert it linked. 4. click into Slides pane outside any slide 5. cntrl+a to slect all Slide 1 will gett border 6. cntrl+c, then cntrl+v to copy paste slide dialog appears 7. Select 'Insert after', ok New slied(s) will be inserted 8. redo from step 4 until you have 16 slides 9. redo from step 4 expected: everything works normal actual: after cntrl+a all slides get border as expected, but then border disappears immediately, slides become unselected In Slide Sorter Pane I see that impossibility to select all slides beginning with 8 slides in it. Indeed, it seems that the linked pictures cause the problem. If I start a new test from step 1, but with embedded pictures, I did not see the problem even with 256 slides or more. Now I doubt that this problem is the same as in Issue 107605, because I see THAT problem also for slides with embedded pictures. I see the completely identical problem in the Pages pane in DRAW. Worked fine with 2.4.1 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [680m17(Build9310)]. Compared to 2.4, performance for copy paste slides is very very poor on my PC. I found a workaround. I extracted the cab file from the installer and put the res files and other xcu,ott,otp files at designated directories. When I did that OpenOffice.org had no problem in recognizing and using the new language. I guess there is some issue in installer process which goofs up in version identification. And to answer your question 'as' and 'kn' langpack needs to be built from source. But if you need a section to appear in two places in the same document, one editable and one read-only, it sure would be nice if editing one immediately updated the other. The update all links option isn't visible by default; if users are opening a document, fixing up something wrong in the first section, they're not going to realize that to get the second section to update, they have to either enable a menu item (painful) and use it every time they make a change, or save, close and re-open the document. In this scenario immediate auto-update seems quite preferable -- it's likely to happen anyway next time the document's opened. This isn't an issue of wanting to preserve an old version of that same section elsewhere in the document. In my case, it's a legal document, and the two copies MUST match exactly. I found some reports of sections auto-updating themselves when going to print the document, but that didn't seem to be the case for me. As a sidenote, I've found that openoffice knows that a blank xlink:href in the text:section-source tag means self, there doesn't have to be a file name when you create a linked section (the ODF spec says the field is implied, but doesn't speak to this point.) I created a large CSV file, very simple straight CSV, comma separated, any text field delimited and with a quoted header line. EOL is crlf, same if I use just lf. No strangeness, no character encoding, old fashioned upper case plain ascii. Tried various import character encodings, no effect. Exclude header row, no effect. I have discovered a major clue on what is going on. I did a CSV import, it read maybe 5,000 out of 7,500 rows. I then exported the CSV to try and discover what it thought CSV ought to look like. On looking with a binary capable editor I discover it thought there was a massive numnber of **columns**, exported data is fine but appended to each row are many On looking I then see it had adjusted many column widths on CSV import. As a hint the import CSV was 675k, mostly imported. Exporting that to a new CSV produced a 6.92M file, mostly commas. Gnumeric imports the original CSV without bothering with import dialog. Various other software imports without problem. Even if it is bad CSV it ought to be handled gracefully. If a developer wants a test file, please email me.
