I can reproduce the efefct with "01OtherSideOfListbuilding.odt" and with
"Ooo-Dev 3.3.0 multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [DEV300m73 (Build 
9456)]"!
I can not reproduce that with self created documents.
When I copy the transparent image covering "Click here to play Audio Book" to an
own document, the problem remains, although links in other images will work 
fine.

@hdu: I'm not sure if there is a node for certain language to match with 
LANGUAGE_DEFAULT_CJK in vcl.xcu. if no such a node available, none font could 
be 
hit when the missing characters is in the range mapped back to 
LANGUAGE_DEFAULT_CJK. Actually, Few font can cover all the characters of CJK 
which are so many that uses the most part of Unicode encoding space. :)

As known well, there is not a accurate map from language to the block of 
Unicode 
encoding space. So the map I composed is just to meet the requirement of font 
fallback in OOo in accordance of the config file vcl.xcu.

I have custom templates in Writer in OOo 3.2.0, with a first page and following 
pages.
When I prepare a document in OOo with that template and save it as .odt, I can 
open it again in OOo 
and the template is respected.
But if I save the document in .doc format and subsequently re-open it with OOo, 
the template has been 
replaced with the default template, with no dfference between the 1st page and 
subsequent pages. 
Opening Format - Page - Organiser shows "Default" to be followed by "Default" 
instead of, for example, 
the original "First Page" followed by "Following Page" or by "Default".

I have not managed to attach here the example files, but the phenomenon is very 
easy to reproduce.

The problem is SEVERE, as I personally refuse to go on buying new versions of 
Microsoft Word and 
INSIST on using OOo, but most of the people I have to work with insist on 
continuing to use MS Word or 
have no choice in the matter. So for me it is a MAJOR compatibility issue. And 
no doubt for many others 
as well.

Or is there some step I am missing in the fixing of my templates?

I did not change behavior regarding displaying also date+time formatted values
of the same date as mentioned in an earlier comment #desc12 above, that might be
confusing and not always wanted. If wanted a user could always do a standard
filter query for x >= date and x < date+1

In table3.cxx I changed lcl_PrepareQuery() to reset the query entry's
bQueryByDate if the actual query is not date only, so ValidQuery() has only to
look for date+time values if actually querying for a date and not if just the
filter list contained a date.

Ah, (as I suspected) adjusting the row heights after loading the xls document
causes the hang.  While it's easy to disable this when the document is an
external doc cache, I'd like to also add additional safeguard to prevent

kept receiving an unsatisfied dependency error looking for en-US files when only

members) use the osl-mutex, as they're based on
::cppu::OInterfaceContainerHelper. So, at least this containers assumes that the
osl mutex is used for thread safety.

So, I assume replacing the osl mutex usage with solar mutex usage would
technically work, but potentially lead to other, perhaps more subtle problems.

Also, I don't really like the idea of paving UnoControl and derivees with
SolarMutex locks. SolarMutex usage is kind of transitive, so it would propagate
itself to e.g. form controls immediately. At some point, this renders
multi-threading useless.
In the current situation, where the SM is used only where needed (and in
UnoControl::draw, it obviously is strictly needed), we have a few deadlocks now
and then (rarely nowadays, really), but don't infest everything with the SM
pest. A state which I'd prefer.

I have tried everything I can think of to get around this with no luck. I have

I have an address book in OObase that I use for letters, invoices and so on. The
templates were created in previous versions of OO. With OO 3.1.1 I can no longer
use this already registered data source for the letter or the address book data
source wizard.

Choices in the wizard are:
1. dialog:
Evolution, Groupwise, Evolution LDAP, Other external data source
2. dialog (after selecting the latter)
MySQL (ODBC), MySQL (JDBC), Oracle JDBC, Adabas D, Spreadsheet, dBase, Text,
JDBC, ODBC, Evolution Local, Groupwise, Evolution LDAP

As you can see there is no option to use a OOBase table. This is a regression
compared to previous releases.

My Berber keyboard layout generates letters with more than one Unicode combining
diacritic, e.g. Latin small 'e' with dot below and acute accent.

*  If this combination is generated with a simple keypress, or shift+keypress,
the combination is displayed correctly.

*  If the combination is generated by AltGr+keypress, only the first diacritic
is displayed, so I see only 'e' with dot below, and no acute accent.

With Microsoft Word 2007, both scenarios above display the correct combination.

The same problem occurred with OpenOffice 3.1 and 3.0 with Windows XP - it is
not new.

This causes a problem for typing Berber languages within OpenOffice. Having Open
Source text editing working well for these languages is very important for their
development.

While working on one rather large project using mail-merge, I found that not all
records are getting printed. I have database with fields, nothing special ~ 308
entries. I wanted to use base as platform for printing labels. I created custom
labels, formated them, created template and after some tinkering found how to
make labels look like I wanted them. But after printing them I found that some
labels are missing. I have 16 labels per sheet, and it looks like data for the
16th label is not printed. In its place program fills data for 17th label. So it
looks like nothing is wrong, but at the end I'm missing 17 labels out of 308
labels I want to print... Also I noticed that if I save printed data as file I
have every second page blank, and blank pages remain at the end of the file even
if I delete paragraphs that separate blank pages from full pages.. I cannot
remove those blank pages. I can send Base and Writer files if anyone is prepared
to look at this problem.

Yes of course, one problem only.
However, you need to get these info to see, that these problems are connected -
somehow. Nevertheless it would be kind if open the "label-issue" as new.

Idea: Bring data from DBase to OOO/HSQL

the way is:
open DBF in CALC with codepage 437
select all and paste it to an ODB-file.
normal dialog starts, but the labels fieldproperty-detection failed.
The result you can see, the assistent is not functioning. 

(and I just found, that in my manual label-edit I made such much mistakes, that
the resulting table is useless)

In Excel it is possible to arrange for all the open windows to be displayed at
the same time. This helps switching between them and also makes it easier to
find mistakes which relate to more than one sheet.

This feature would be extremely helpful.

importing data from named external cell

In Excel it is possible to name data in an external cell and then use
'Insert-Name-Paste' and then select the name and the data from that cell is
automatically imported into that cell.

This not seem to be possible in Calc. Indeed when importing an excel sheet or
converting an excel sheet to ods it comes up with different errors!

Using references such as C3 is messed up if a row or column is inserted so the
naming of a cell is an important way to reduce spreadsheet errors.

It seems to me essential that this problem is remedied.
