Reopening.

This issue has been initially filed due to the "always one same button is
highlighted" problem. This has not been fixed, right?

In context of StartCenter, Users obviously do not recognize the highlighting of
the one button as the focus.

Proposal: Change properties of StartCenter controls, so that none of the
controls can have the focus.

The revised StartCenter seems to mainly improve one thing; it now
provides large buttons so that users can simply click on "Text Document"
instead on the icon alone. But, why is this button visible all the time

clean look. It looks more clean if one closes the last window - then the
button isn't shown (at least in one of the earlier versions).

The meaning of the highlighting is just not understood. Users don´t expect,
don´t need and don´t recognize a focus in this context. So, get rid of it.

It would be really very valuable to be able to set several options during PDF
creation.

I get this ones in mind right now:
1.  PDF creation like now

2.  PDF is identical to the printout. In this case it might be better to move it
into the printing dialog, maybe as another selection, right below [_] Print to
file:   [_] Print to PDF-file

There I would search it, and everyone should automatically associate that all
other settings in this window will have influence in the result.

Hi,
yes, I use a very rude spam filter setting. Instead of 3000 spams/day I get only
5-10 now. -> So I would say, it works :P

I found the reason now. Problem is FIXED.
I don't know why, but "print in black" was checked. So it is no wonder that all
text was black. :P

Please, excuse my issue and the work you had with it, it was definitely my 
fault.


Anyway, I would highly recommend to remove this inconsistency between PDF
creation and printing. This was actually mis-leading me all the time, as the PDF
showed the text in color, while it was only printed in black.

I tested with OOo4Kids and I see the freeze too. 

*but* this file is two pages only, and is 2,4 MB ?

So I tried to open it using TextEdit, and I saved it again : the text now is 16 
KB only, and OOo4Kids 
opens it easily.

I'll attach the new file, to let the experts have a look on both (a diff -Naur 
told me that the first one is 
ull binary, while mine is UTF-8, or at least human readable).

>From what I can tell this isn't exactly a bug, more of a limitation coupled 
with a poorly worded description.  According to the documentation the “Windows 
system address book” option is used to access the Outlook Express address 
book.  The Vista version of Outlook Express does not include an address book 
(uses the Windows Contacts folder) and Windows 7 does not include Outlook 
Express at all.

On versions of Windows through Windows XP the only PIM included was Outlook 
Express so this was logical.  Now that Vista and higher systems truly have an 
independent system address book (the %userprofile%\Contacts folder) this is no 
longer logical and results in users thinking it is a bug.

I suggest the following:
1.Rename “Windows system address book” feature to “Outlook Express address book”
2.Add error handling to detect the condition of Outlook Express' address book 
not being present on the system and prompt the user with a meaningful error 
message.
3.Add a few address book data source feature to utilize the Contacts folder on 
Vista and higher systems.
NOTE: Microsoft now makes Windows Live Mail available as a free download mail 
client.  It is the only free MS client available to Windows 7 users. Oddly it 
has its own address book and does not use the Contacts folder. Depending on how 
popular this client becomes it may be worth making available as a data source 
as well.

char and chr functions seem to return different results for ascii characters 128
to 159.

What I did:
populate column a rows with values 1 - 255
populate column b rows with values char(a1) - char(a255)
create a function under OOo BASIC for current spreadsheet
Function testchr(acode as Integer) As String
testchr = Chr(acode)
End Function
populate column c rows with values testchr(a1) - testchr(a255)

fwiw, this does not seem to be the case with excel - char and chr in excel
return the same results

@OS: sorry can't test right now for possible regression to 3.1.1...
It's pretty expectable that reference to footnote in footnote will produce bad
things... That's why "Insert - Footnote" is diasble in context of a footnote.
While copy/paste, the 2.4.2 simply stripped out the footnote anchors.

Tested on Vista 32 bits, so Windows All but I guess it's the same on other
systems...

My most frequent use of the edit fields/documents/date window is to update the 
current field and freeze the new date in the new document. Currently, one has 
to open the edit window twice -- once to change the date -- and again to 
freeze "fix" it. It would be nice to have a third option that would allow you 
to open the edit fields window once, select an option such as "update and 
freeze" which would enter the current date and fix it in the document.

When I tried to open a spreadsheet it showed a Runtime error and it closed.
After a number to retries I uninstalled and re-installed the openoffice again.

After re-installation, when I opened a spreadsheet it showed a window for 
recovering an unrecovered file, named "untitled-1". When I try to recover it 
said 
it couldn't be recoverable, and after that opens the scalc. When I tried to 
cancel 
the recovery window it closed everything and showed the Runtime error again.

I am trying to open an RTF file, http://myweb.dal.ca/mdunphy/MC.rtf , and Open
Office freezes up (unresponsive, requiring a forced kill), during the open 
process.

This is repeatable with Open Office 310m19 on Linux Fedora 11 x86_64, with open
office 3.2 on Windows 7, and with "Neo Office 2.0" on OSX.  

The software "wine wordpad", which is part of WINE 1.1.32 can open the file, so
I don't think it's a broken file.

Can also be reproduced with OOo 3.0.1, but seems to work in 3.1.1 and 3.2.0.

Workaround for the problem is to set Tools->Options->OpenOffice.org->Paths->My
Documents. It doesn't matter if you set "My Documents" to the same path it was
set before (e.g. your home directory). As long as you set this path explicitly
once it works.

Well, when someone provides a patch that works for both, then integrating it 
into the next release wouldn't be a problem. 
The problem is finding out why it doesn't work (and I don't wanna hunt for 
apple's bugs)
All I can do is offer to provide a current build for PPC with the patch 
applied/ask the provider of "official" PPC builds to include the patch when he 
creates the PPC installsets.

But on intel the patch is of little help, as it unfortunately doesn't solve the 
problem, (well, might work on 10.4 on intel as well, but there hasn't been 
feedback on that in this issue)

One could argue to apply the patch nevertheless, as it solves the problem on 
10.4/PPC and doesn't break anything on other versions (AFAICT)...

I'm using Oo 3.2.0 and it seems this issue still hasn't been resolved. Or I
don't seem to find an option to remove the context-sensitivity. As previously
noted, this is really bad UI design and extremely frustrating, especially to
users used to keyboard shortcuts and who'd rather not clutter their screen with
5 undocked toolbars popping in and out.

Climaker is part of the cli-uno language binding. 

The patch does not bring any benefit to the cli-uno language binding. It is only

does not contain the mono bridge.

Currently working on a plugin, we've just encounter this issue while trying to
test it on a MacOSX 10.6/Intel Plateform as well as on a MacOSX 10.4/PPC 
Plateform.

It seem's that nothing was done on this subject since the end of October, when
cloph has released a patch for the PPC environment.

What actions can be done to provide a fix for the Intel environment, and to see

no matter, lets fix it anyway, I've attached another version of the patch,
removed the ifdef'ed bits from vbarange.[ch]xx and move made some methods
virtual to allow ScVbaFormat to get its own DataSet ( or use Range::getDataSet
when subclassed by ScVbaRange ) Also for the lock and unlock I've put in a
fallback to the old propertyset access too ( better safe than sorry ) please
have a look, another pair of eyes is always welcome ( especially for coded in a
hurray bits ) If you are happy with it I will add it to npower13_objectmodules
