I mentioned Inkscape because of its rich set of snapping abilities. A wor processor with frames should allow easy alignment with page elements, otherwise the layout will never be perfect. I don't want the text to be aligned with the left border; I want the additional frame to be aligned with the left border of the main page (which is also a frame in my view). The assumption is that when using the same formatting for the text, the text will also align with the text of the main page frame. If someone with a better desktop publishing program gives you a layout sample, you try to get as close as possible to it. If we have multiple frames in Writer, why not use them? Most template somehow mis-use features to get the desired effects. It's not perfect, but it will do. You can observe the described leak by opening the sample .ods file. Depends on
how may cells and how many conditional formats are set, leaked memory may
varies. This sample file show serious leak.
The root cause is if setting a conditional style to a cell, it creates an
ScTableConditionalFormat object. Then in api

So there is cyclic reference between ScTableConditionalFormat and
ScTableConditionalEntry objects. Both objects create at loading/saving time will
leak.
To fix it, suggest not to call pParent-acquire(); in ScTableConditionalEntry
Ctor API.

That is because if a paper format is not found the search for an alternative will also try to match the corresponding landscape format (and vice versa) to find the most appropriate format - which is kind of hard to do since the AcuLaser PPD as is only supports Letter and A4. I would not consider that a bug, but you might want a method to switch it off, too ? In retrospect I'd like to have done that in 3.3 since you won't be the only one trying to use a user format paper to get the job done regardless of what the printer actually supports. For that purpose the new paper matching as well as the centering is a change for the worse. This has to do with the OO rendering engine. It makes OO look very bad. Since OO is so important to the free software community, it makes the whole community look bad. You mentioned the rendering engines used by KDE4 and Gnome. But also Windows Vista+ and the Mac OS have good support for these features. The effect is, any graphical web browser, and much simpler word processors such as KWord, and even the lowliest text processor on these systems renders mark placement fairly well (never mind MS Word). But not OpenOffice. OpenOffice Writer is primarily about text display of high quality. Without that, all the fancy bells and whistles are for the garbage. Anything else you can do with it, could be done better with some other tool. Crucial features that still seem to be absent in OO 'ccmp' ligature composition (as opposed to the ccmp decomposition table) 'mark' 'mkmk' certainly there are others. Scripts that would use these features (and may be illegible without them) include: Hebrew, Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese, but there are many more. I don't know if OO supports 'abvm' and 'blwm', but these are used a lot with Indic scripts, as well as Tibetan. But mark positioning is used for fine placement in general for languages that use marks. And that includes the *majority* of European languages. It makes the difference between text being very ugly, and looking great.
