Specifically, when using three columns of data, one for x values, one for y values, and one for point labels, the chart can be set up and labels depicted properly only if there is ONLY one series set up in the chart. If Column A is point labels, column B is x values, and column C is y values, and the data is represented in 15 rows then the chart will properly show the points at the correct xy coordinates and with the point labels from column A for all fifteen data points as long as they are all in one Data series in the chart. If rows 1 through 5 are one series, rows 6 through 10 are a second series, and rows 11 through 15 are a third series, each of the series can have separate X- Values Data ranges, Y-Value Data ranges, and a separate Range for Name, but cannot have a separate corresponding range for Data labels.The data field noted as Data labels in the Data Ranges dialog box should vary with the series selected in the Data series box, but remains constant while all the other data fields do change with the series selection. The problem was observed running under the Microsoft XP operating system and the Windows 7 operating system. By default, opening a MS XML 2003 terminated by .doc is impossible, as it doesn't allow you to choose it in the file selector (restricted to .xml), and provides an ascii filtering system, if opening by the standard way. I propose to either make the ASCII detection less dummy and detect what XML is, so that the XML 2003 importer will work, either add in the defaukt OpenOffice configuration that the .doc might eventually be an XML. First, the Name list box in the form is invalid, in some sense: It is bound to the SQL statement 'SELECT Name FROM Table1', with Bound Field being 1. Since Bound field starts counting with 0, this means that the *second* field of the result set of the SQL statement should be the bound field - alas, there is only one column in the result set. So, one question would be how this list box was created - was it by some of wizard? In this case, the wizard would need to be fixed. Second, the crash obviously is a problem :-\. Looking at the code, I somehow doubt there was ever an OOo release where this did /not/ crash, it ... smells pretty ancient. Fixing this crash is easy, in fact I'm going to commit the patch to CWS dba34a. Third, the root cause for the first problem: I consider it somewhat strange that Bound Field starts counting with 1, it should allow 0 as well. (It takes anywhere between 20 and 60 seconds on my PC, which is not that old.) I understand that this is most likely related to the number of fonts I have installed. However, this happens every time the dialog is opened - not just the first time. I have checked this in Writer, Calc and Impress and all seem to exhibit the same behaviour. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select a piece of text or a cell (in Calc) 2. In the menu, select Format - Character/Cell = The application freezes for several seconds until the dialog appears. Switching to the Font Effects tab also incurs a long wait (although not quite as long). You may need to select the Font or Font Effects tab if one of them is not initially selected to see the issue. If you have more than one window open - even say one each of Writer, Calc and Impress, all of them are frozen while the dialog appears. Before, with OpenOffice 2.4 and Ubuntu 8.04 the phonetics font Ipa-samd Uclphon1 SILDoulosL (downloadable free here: http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/shop/fonts.php) worked perfectly. Now it doesn't. The font appears in the list of possible fonts and is in the right place, /usr/share/fonts but doesn't display properly: a replacement font is used. When I choose Insert / Special characters, I get the desired result however. I think it's an OpenOffice problem, as Gedit and Abiword for example display the font fine. I've tried uninstalling the ubuntu provided by OOO with its config files and then installing the Vanilla version from the OOO website, but with no success. I suspect the issue does not only concern the IPA font, since many other fonts appear to default to Arial or something similar. A true story: A user ask how he can print his KF10647 labels. It was found that there is Avery Zweckform 3474 in Brand and Type but users have know easy way find out this. What are needed: User normally knows how many column and label rows (s)he has on a label sheet but (s)he don't always know exact measures of single label. So if we have layout selection fields and some kind filtering for pre-ready formats there is possibility that working with labels change more efficient also for private users. I meant that users will be able to select their sheet type even the brand they see is not the same as at the sheet box. I suppose that this will be more efficient way than starting input of measures of single labels which can be done as second or third step in this new procedure with good guess of values if nothing else will help. There is also possibility update all label brands and types of the world into system but i suppose it would be bigger task. Now there seems to be mainly German types.
