Open Writer 2. Menu Insert/Frame... OR Menu File Create/Labels... 3. Line arrangement Set All Four Borders, Line-style none, spacing to contents 1 cm. (see screenshot) Click OK. Result: Spacing to contents reset to none. The way to enable spacing to contents seems to be to set line color white with width 0,05 pt. But this is no way for 'Labels'-document which automatically created based on frames. Here should be a way to add paddind from border to frame content without drawing any border. Because labels can be printed with color printer on color paper and frames will be visible. Also, 1. Insert Frame in Writer, open the Frame-Borders dialog. 2. Set Left and Right Borders Only. Result - Top and Bottom margin fields disabled 3. Click on the upper border of the preview box to set upper border for the frame. Result - Top and Bottom margin fields disabled. but the Top margin field should be enabled. Impress splits PDFs into so many text frames (nearly 100 per page), that the formatting is often messed up. Not to mention hard hyphenation is often put into 2 separate frames making it's removal extremely difficult. I have a MySQL database and am using JDBC Connector. I began experiencing this issue after upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 from 10.04 but was able to resolve it. The steps I took are given here: http://www.unixmen.com/linux-distributions/4-ubuntu/1266-how-to-install-latest-java-version-in-ubuntu-1010-maverick-meerkat-via-ppa. I will list them below. (1) Ensure that Canonical Partners repository is enabled; (2) Enter the following commands separately from a terminal session: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sun-java-community-team/sun-java6 sudo apt-get update apt-cache search java sudo update-alternatives --config java (choose Sun JRE here) (3) Open Openoffice, choose Tools/Options/Java (4) You should have two JRE's, 1.6.0_20 and 1.6.0_22; choose 1.6.0_22 (5) Exit Openoffice and Openoffice Quickstarter; (6) Restart Openoffice. I have forms with subforms that have been working since Ubuntu 9.04. After upgrading to 10.10 from 10.04, the following situation occurs with all databases and subform entries: When adding or modifying a record in a subform, the following message is displayed: Error inserting record No value specified for parameter 1 Selecting more gives: SQL Status: 07001 No value specified for parameter 1 If I choose OK, the error reoccurs. If I change focus from that subform to the form or another subform, the error reappears. If I choose X to exit the error message and exit the form without saving it, when I reopen the form, the subform record(s) is/are there. I get a duplicate record for each time I exit the message popup with OK or change focus to the form or another subform. As I said, this behavior happens with all forms and MySQL databases when attempting to add or modify a subform record. I can delete subform records with no problems, and I can add, modify, and delete form records with no problems (assuming appropriate cascade options are set in the databases). This behavior was not present in Ubuntu 10.04 and Openoffice 3.2.0 or any releases prior. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The reality is that many users of MS Access use these via the graphical interface since it's substantially faster and more intuitive to do arbitrary SQL operations that way. Why do we have so many arguments against this, yet so many people want this? They are not DBA's, but just normal office people that don't ever get to these forums so state their desire for the functionality. They simple try Open Office Base, find it lacking and write it off as being inferior to MS Access. The other file is the result of that, answering yes during startup, to update links. You first get a JRE defective message. After aknowledging that error for 66 times it will let you onto the spreadsheet. When you scroll down it will stop working and after a while give a runtime error. Try it with the second file I attached herewith. Hope you can help me. I am struggling with this program for a couple of weeks now. I am not getting very far.
