UNABLE TO ATTACH DOCUMENT.
HOW DOES ONE ATTACH A DOCUMENT WHEN IN THE 'ENTER ISSUE' SCREEN?

Using version 2.01. Had same problem with version 2.00

Table of Contents when inserted corrupts document.
Extra pages are added.
Suspect it has something to do with pictures that were placed in document.

Use the attached file and insert a Table of Contents on page 2 of the document.
Notice the page numbers and how the document has changed.
It might be of help to use the Edit menu to observe what Undo message is
displayed.
Using the Delete button at the last line of where the problem occurs corrects
the document.
But the page numbers in the Table of Contents have to be manually corrected.

How can I change the style of any page in my document?
Trying to change a page style on any page only causes the first page to have
its style change.
I followed the directions below.
I am using OpenOffice 2 on Windows XP Home Edition.

To apply a page style:
1.Click in the page that you want to apply the page style to.
2.Choose Format - Styles and Formatting, and then click the Page Style icon.
3.Double-click a name in the list.

When I try to change a page style on a page in a document, only the very first
page changes it's page style. Not the actual page in the document.

Thanks,
Al Winter

It would be great if under the Insert icon, a Popup Window could be inserted
into a document. This Popup Window could be resized, containing graphic or
text. And have the ability to use copy and paste to insert material into the
Popup Window.
When the document is exported to a PDF file, The Popup Window still works.

Does Writer have the ability to export a document in PDF format with tags that
allow access anywhere in the document. I know that OpenOffice 2 can use chapter
heading. But what about something with more finer control. Such as using the
cross-reference as a tag.

The purpose is to use Writer to create a help file for a software program using
the F1 help key. Below is request that was on the forum. I have the same
requirement.

Thanks,
Al Winter

Hi there.

I currently looking for a help solution for our company's applications. Until
now we have the help has consisted of a pdf document being opened when the user
presses F1. We would like to extend this a little bit further by inserting
bookmarks into the document which the user can be directed to in some given
application context.

I am aware of OO2 capability in supporting epdf and the fact that headings can
be transformed to bookmarks in the pdf document, but these are diffucult to use
as navigationpoints as text differs from language to language. What I need is
the ability to create OO bookmarks (or anchors) that are languageindependent
jumpcodes, thus "CHAP_PIZZA_ORDERING".
Can this be done ?

Best Regards
Jakob Simon-Gaarde

Bitmap pictures in Visio 2003 are corrupted when using cut and paste into
Writer. Cut and paste of Visio 2003 drawings work fine.
Example: In Visio 2003 click on Shapes icon, Network icon, Computers & Monitors
Click on Laptop Computer and place in Visio drawing.
Click on picture of Laptop Computer after it is placed in drawing.
Click and paste into Writer. - A gray rectangle appears over keyboard.

Cut and paste picture of Laptop Computer
 from Visio 2003 into Screen Capture Version 2.2 - www.etrusoft.com -
then cut and pasted into Writer.
 Worked fine.

Example: Cut and paste any picture into Visio 2003
Then from Visio 2003, cut and paste into Writer.
 Picture is almost gone.

Cut and paste picture from Visio 2003 into Screen Capture Version 2.2
 - www.etrusoft.com - then cut and paste into Writer.
 Worked fine.

After clicking on Format>Page, under each tab add a checkbox that only allows
formatting changes to that page. This would be so much easier than having to
generate and insert a new style page.

Looked at http://user-faq.openoffice.org/new-faq/Writer/faqwriternumbering/.
I understand how to change a page number on a field.
In fact, that is what I did to change the page numbers in my manual.

Table of contents page numbers uses actual page count, not the page number
printed on the page where the referenced material is located.

When there is a cover page followed by a blank page, (two sided page printing)
the page number for a chapter in the table of contents is two pages higher
than the page number printed on the page where the chapter begins.
The pages in the index table are also off by the same number of pages.

Result is the page numbers in table of contents or index table do not match the
printed page number of where a chapter begins.

Table of contents and index table pages should always match the page number of
the page where the referenced material is located.

Suggestion,
Have two pages without page numbers(cover page) followed by a table of contents
then the document.
Does the table of contents page numbers match the page numbers in the document?
They both should be the same.

Thanks,
Al Winter

When a page is inserted ino a document, pictures anchored to the old page do
not shift down with the text. But when a page is inserted with pictures
anchored to a paragraph, pictures do shift down with the text.

Thanks,
Al Winter

Can the Table of Contents and other indexes have their page numbers match the
actual pages of the document where the referenced information is located?

Example:
When creating a manual there is a cover page, blank page, Table of Contents,
then the rest of the manual. Cover page, blank page and Table of Contents do not
have a page number. Page numbering starts at the beginning of the rest of the
manual.

Table of Contents page numbers are off by the number of pages which make up the
Cover page, blank page and Table of Contents.

Thanks
