From your comments, you would rather use a different page style from the working document where the cursor is located, instead of the page style applied in the 'to-be-inserted' document. This is almost guaranteeing that it will 'mess' with the page layout, which is your reason for not applying the page style. Also, if the page style doesn't exist in the working document inserting a document adds it, so why not also apply it? A page style with the same name is more likely not to 'mess' with the layout, then one which has a totally different name, surely. Please re-open this issue as it is a defect. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. As a result of this the AutoText(s) still display in the dialog after an extension is removed, or if re-installed/updated you get a double up until OOo is restarted. For example, 1. Install the following extension from http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/autotext_emoticons 2. Install the extension again 3. open the autotext dialog and you'll see duplicates of Emoticons 4. restart OOo and the duplicate is gone. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This issue really needs to be resolved for the next release instead of putting it off for so long (over 2 years). There doesn't need to be a new table model just implement tables as per the open document spec. I have posted about this at http://danieldebyl.blogspot.com/2007/01/ooo-doesnt-support-spanning-table-rows.html The problem: If you merge a row OOo doesn't use the the @table:number-rows-spanned on the cell as specified in the Open Document spec instead it changes the table to contain nested tables. If you only merge columns then it uses the @table:number-columns-spanned as per the spec. Because of this the HTML is actually technically correct as the xml of the OOo doc contains nested tables. However, the borders in the HTML will never line up as they do in the document which is the problem. NB: I am posting to this issue as the one I created was marked as a duplicate of this one, see #60238 - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Sure this can be done in isolated situation but you don't want to have general users compiling uno just because they use a different python. What happens with Mac update their python/ Hmm, we can't support all versions. Distributing python doesn't make sense, because: You don't have to support all versions just the one required for OOo. - people do already have it on their systems Users will have the wrong one if they upgrade, and what if Mac release the OS with the new version? You will have to always distribute a copy of OOo every time the OS changes to match the version of python. - not all people want to use it You are only distributing the python-core with OOo not installing it on their system just as with Windows and Linux OS's. So the default is to use system python. Special cases need special treatment I am not sure what you mean by this but either way by my understanding if you rely on the native python then not only those who wish to automate OOo are affected but those who use python macros will dependent on the version of python installed. Distributing OOo with python means you are not dependent on the native version installed and don't have to updated all the builds when the MAC OS python is updated. Can this be put down for discussion somewhere and see what others think? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It appears to use the default numbering instead. This is evident in the styles.xml file, for example, an OOo document with the outline numbering set to start at 2 with the number prefix on the first level Module looks something like: text:outline-style text:outline-level-style text:level=1 style:num-prefix=Module style:num-suffix= - style:num-format=1 text:start-value=2/ text:outline-level-style text:level=2 style:num-suffix= style:num-format=1 text:display-levels=2/ text:outline-level-style text:level=3 style:num-suffix= style:num-format=1 text:display-levels=3/ ..etc A Word document with the same type of outline numbering used OOo sets it as default, for example: text:outline-style text:outline-level-style text:level=1 style:num-suffix= style:num-format=1/ text:outline-level-style text:level=2 style:num-suffix= style:num-format=1 text:display-levels=2/ text:outline-level-style text:level=3 style:num-suffix= style:num-format=1 text:display-levels=3/ ...etc - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. However, if a document is exported to xhtml you get the surrounding cells nested inside a table (tables nested inside tables). The formatting problems are to an extent resolved by the CSS generated but this is not ideal and a bit of a hack. The xsl to transform tables need to be updated to handle vertical merged cells correctly eg use rowspans and don't nest tables within tables - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
