Could you describe your classloader workaround in more detail? The code that worked for OOo 2.2 is this: InputStream is = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream(/de/rules/grammar.xml) i.e. /de/rules/grammar.xml is a file in the JAR and I have to load it this way because I don't know where my extension is installed. With OOo 2.3 I get back null. I now tried this but it fails: Class cl = Class.forName(de.danielnaber.languagetool.FakeClass, true, mycl); is = cl.getResourceAsStream(/de/rules/grammar.xml); mycl is an instance of the WollMuxClassLoader you suggested to use, but the InputStream I get back is still always null. However, this loop doesn't stop (no break statement), so it uses the entry that comes later in the array. User dictionaries are added first to the array, so the system dictionary, which comes later, is preferred. Including GPL'd dictionaries should be okay, as these are just lists of words (i.e. plain text files) which are loaded at runtime. *No* GPL'd code at all is involved. 2.) Not distributing dictionaries is a *major* usability problem. Having DicOOo is nice but didn't prevent loads of user questions about how to make the German spellchecker work (back when it was not distributed yet). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Currently the German dictionary is included in OOo, but not under the GPL but under a different license which allows distributing the word lists with software that uses OpenDocument as its primary format. This license does however not allow modification which basically makes it impossible to fix errors without the help of wordlist maintainer. The old spelling will be supported by OOo, and be it only to avoid bug reports that tell us that the new spelling sucks. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
