The relationship manager (Tools - Relationships) allows adding constraints between tables. Storing the relationship information seems to be left to the backend. MySQL supports foreign keys in InnoDB tables only. Creating a relationship between other MySQL tables seems to succeed at first (the relationship is shown), but it is not stored and thus lost after closing the relationship manager. The relationship manager should test the relation has indeed been added and issue a warning if that test failed. Steps to reproduce * load https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=251407 into a MySQL db * access that db from OOo * Open the relationship manager * add a relationship between the guid field which is present in both tables * close the relationship manager and reopen it result: the tables are still there, the relationship is gone - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Are you saying that the relationship information is stored in the backend and not in OOo itself? IOW, relationships from the relationship manager are only supported in InnoDB for mysql? Relationships in queries, etc. are supported just fine and apparently stored in the OOo file, no matter the backend. I guess, it would be advisable that OOo issue a warning from the relationship manager if a relation cannot be saved instead of quietly dropping it. I think this would be a separate issue from this one, though. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It's a great start. Yet there is still work to do, I believe. As far as I understand the patch exposes the hackery I did straight in the XML. I'm very glad this is not necessary anymore and thank Thorsten for the patch. Eventually, I think it would be advantageous to fix this request a bit differently. Currently the functionality is exposed under the text tab. It is possible to set both the text anchor both vertically and horizontally (justified alignment is not possible). This seems to partly overlap with what the alignment tab offers (although technically speaking that is not the case as Thorsten was kind enough to point out to me in #go-oo today). Mechtilde, are you actually reading and understanding what is being discussed here? I specifically said that ubuntu works fine for me. The OP said this was only occurring in one user's account on his machine and not another one. I think your crystal ball needs serious polishing - or even better, dump it. I prefer the analytical approach to bug triaging, because one actually has a chance to find and fix bugs that way. Intuited, maybe you can be bothered to try with the official binaries and the user's account where you see this problem? If indeed you don't see the problem then, we'd have confirmed what Mechtilde is only assuming for the sake of closing the maximum number of bugs (The real aim should be *fixing* the maximum number of bugs). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Is there *anybody* at all working on Impress? It does not look like that to me. In that case, I frankly suggest to remove Impress from OOo. If there is (thb, are you?), then I suggest that this person seriously looks at their priorities for this module. As others have said, there is not much that is more important than this bug, yet after several years, we are being told that there is not even a schedule on when to put this in place. Updated instructions * enter page preview mode (in writer, might occur in other apps, too) * remark that the "print page view button" is active * print a page *with the "print page view button"* * remark that the "print page view button" has become inactive and greyed out closing and reentering page preview mode reactivates it. but to be honest I have a bit of trouble pinpointing with 100% accuracy what will always trigger and what will always work. All I can say is that I had some trouble to reproduce this initially but then it "worked to break it" ;-). Maybe you should try with a document with more than one page? I think it would be a good idea to first discuss what other special characters to include in this effort and than standardize (maybe upon the settings used in Word which I found to be highly consistent and intuitive at the time I was using it). When I reported the problem, it was still too complicated and people were forced to enter data that one cannot reasonably expect a normal user to know. I consider myself fairly proficient with OOo and computers in general and I think reporting a bug in Issuezilla is a MAJOR PITA. This bug has nothing to do with worksforme since someone who is familiar with Issuezilla from day in and out experience *might* know their way around. But that is not the question. The question is whether an ordinary user can make a bug report or whether most of them will give up half-way through. I think the latter and that is what issue 42236 is about. This issue is a subtask to that issue so that 42236 can be tackled one step at a time. I fail to see how IZ works as it should, unless of course you literally did a major overhaul over the weekend. I think that is not the case and thus I reopen the bug. It doesnotworkforme and probably most others that do not spend time in issuezilla every day. I agree with Rainer that a "Do not know" option might be the way to go. It should be the default and up to the user to change it from the default value. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. They can only serve to confuse the reporter. Please delete those fields from the mask for said component. Take a look at issue 42236. It depends on issue 52339 which at least currently is being shown as struck-through which I guess is because I just reported it about a minute ago so it has the unconfirmed state. Request to strike through closed issues but not unconfirmed issues. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [www-issues] [Issue 52339] New - Forcing the user to enter a subcomponent is not a good idea
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=52339 Issue #:|52339 Summary:|Forcing the user to enter a subcomponent is not a |good idea Component:|www Version:|current Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Linux Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|openoffice.org IssueTracker Assigned to:|[EMAIL PROTECTED] Reported by:|leggewie --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jul 22 08:31:03 -0700 2005 --- Hi, as I said in issue 42236, entering an issue is too complicated and will probably scare away many useful, potential contributors. This is a subtask to above-mentioned issue. Currently, there are already too many components to choose from. But to make things worse, the reporter is forced to also choose a subcomponent where usually things are equally fuzzy. There is *NO* documentation what each of these subcomponents is about, so how do you dare to expect people to choose that? What will that help? I think I am reasonably proficient with computers and I *always* just guess and I honestly do not care to the slightest whether I even remotely get the correct subcomponent. I guess the intention is to get reports to the correct people faster, but this will not do. Regards Rolf - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
